  1. that's ok...get this...i've seriously been eating too much. for some strange reason i've been weighing my food on a scale instead of using a measuring cup. well my doc set me straight...LOL it's volume as opposed to weight. ooppss! no wonder i'm maintaining at this point. so here goes nothing! now i'm going in the right direction! right now i have 2.5 cc's in my band. have to remember to ask him how big my band is. take care all...and fight the good fight!
  2. now those sound worth the effort of my oven...i live alone and just hate using the stove/oven. i like to make things as simple as possible so that i can stick to eating correctly. thanks for the tip!
  3. wow...wish i could eat rice and Pasta...even a little bit. my doc says that stuff is a no-no and i'm afraid it would get stuck and then i'd have to go see him to help me. and i hear ya lisafitz...it's all a head game right now and i'm having the same trouble as we have tons of Cookies and candy sitting out at work. it's difficult to not grab one when you walk past. i just keep trying to ask myself if it's worth it or not.
  4. thanks for the info...i've been having the exact same thing happening to me...it seems to depend on the day if i can eat what we consider a full meal or if i'll be hungry after i eat it. about a week ago my doc only gave me a .25cc fill. at first i felt nothing and then i guess it kicked in...cuz i dropped three pounds like nothing. but again...what i can eat in a day still seems to fluctuate. i go back in a month...and if i need a little more...i know he'll give me the fill. keeping my doc involved as well as talking to others is what is keeping me going. happy holidays everyone! and let's all keep up the great work!!
  5. ohh these are awesome ideas!! i think i might have to try this crab one soon though! thanks!!
  6. things like this happen...but at least you realized it so it's time to get back on top of things. i went through a similar thing a couple of weeks ago. in fact i went in for my second fill today...so here i go!! back at it!! we can do this!!
  7. LOL thanks guys! i have been meaning to try on some jeans. i have no idea what size i wear and honestly haven't had a pair of jeans on in probably 10 years. that will be my goal!!! let the motivation begin!
  8. i have to totally agree! and i wish i had something like that to motivate me more...right now my only extra motivation is so my doc doesn't get disappointed in me.
  9. i think i'm at a standstill. we had a covered dish at work...and i tried. but i gained some weight that week. but then i went right back to watching what i was doing and lost all that i put on...but now i'm stuck. gotta get through thanksgiving and then i have an appointment. think i'll ask for a fill that day.
  10. thanks! sometimes i do feel some restriction and other times i don't. the mornings seem to be the worst. i'm usually up by 6:30 am and i can only drink my coffee...even that i feel going down. but by lunch i'm usually ok to eat. my doc says that this is normal and that a lot of people say their band feels tighter in the morning. who knows. i think i'm just going to try and keep myself in check through thanksgiving and then see about getting a fill at the beginning of december.
  11. so glad i'm not the only one that feels this way. i swear it makes no sense in the grand scheme of things...and it's messing with my mind. i marvel at how i too can eat the same thing on two different days and one day not finish it and the other still want more to eat. i have only had one fill so far and i'm three months out from surgery...i think when i go back in december i'm going to see about getting another fill.
  12. i think that's a wonderful idea! just like out weight loss...every little bit counts!
  13. i'm so glad that i come here! sharing with you all gives me the determination to keep going. i've only had one fill since surgery on august 5th and i guess it's going ok. slow and steady wins the race!!
  14. i hear all of you. of course i'm the lucky one who was banded at the hospital i work at. i guess it's a good and bad thing. i have a ton of support and people who ask how i'm doing constantly...but on the other side of the coin, i have those who are watching me like a hawk and just have to comment on every little thing i put in my mouth. my favorite comment is, "are you allowed to eat that?" you'll know if it's the right time to tell her. take care!
