  1. I appreciate it [emoji1317] I'm also sorry that happened to you. We can't control what others will say to us but to some extent we can decide whether or not we want it to make us or break us. I've been learning this recently. Sending love as well!
  2. Oh my God girl I FEEL YOU AND I HEAR YOU!! It's absolutely mind boggling why people continue to do this is such a destructive and careless way. I don't remember a time in my life where people weren't commenting on my body and size. From school, parents, extended family, sibling, etc. I dated a guy in college who asked to be my boyfriend and then proceeded to tell me literally word for word "you're great and all but you know I only date hot girls? You're fat and it's weird to date a fat girl" he consistently made comments about my body size to the point where I started self harming because I started to see my body the way he did. I had to undo a lot of bad **** because of these comments. People are uncomfortable maybe within themselves, they're hyper concerned with what others will think of them or they just believe they're helping you. I think it's okay to be concerned about someone's weight but it's apparent when it comes from a place of disdain and superficiality. There's a right way to do things ultimatly if it has to be done at all, and only those who truly love you should partake in the dialogue in a safe and loving way. This lifetime of people calling me fat has adversely affected me to my core, to the way I carry myself and try not to take up space, how much I see the words of others carved body to this day, how apologetic I am for just existing.... But I'm doing so much physical and mental work to undo all that harm and learning slowly how to choose compassion for these people instead of letting it destroy my self worth. It's tough. We're fighting everyday.
  3. Aww I appreciate you sharing and sorry that happened. It sucks at any size I realize. My therapist gave me really good advice about it recently. I'm working on being less affected by what people say about my body, good or bad (because it really does ruin my day most of the time). She said that like art, the human body is subjective. People are allowed to have opinions about bodies, like art. It doesn't make it correct however. Like there's no "correct" form of art. Some might appreciate it, some might like your earlier work while others like the new stuff you've done but at the end of the day, it's all just subjective assessments. She also made the distinction that it's my thoughts that create the feelings. Some a*****e might say something negative but I can instead choose to feel compassion- that person has something within them that is giving them a hard time and making them act that way. That really helped me take the sting off of these body comments for me.
  4. Omg I miss coke zero SO MUCH
  5. I love pasta and chips too but sadly I will tell you it doesn't go away...especially the 2 week liquid diet (or more) you'll miss food sooo much and crave it. Best to develop the right mindset, find healthy alternatives when you can eat solid food and find the right coping mechanisms.
  6. : 3 I appreciate it. I'm still dealing with a lot of body dysmorphia. I def have weight to lose still but I carry most of it in my hips and lower stomach.
  7. Omg this looks so good. I'm not eating breads just yet because of my program but I miss egg on toast more than anything wowwwww yummy

Wearing this cute set I bought in 2018 from a boutique. I finally fit back into it! Great for summer. Not at my goal weight yet and 3 months post op but surely getting there.
  9. This is weird... but seeing my knee caps again. I haven't seen them since 2019. My legs are still chubby but they're starting to look like a normal leg shape overall haha I took a picture of them because I was surprised to see it when I had my legs propped up on a table (not good manners, I know but no one eats or even sits out on this table in my household). Yay to having visible kneecaps!
  10. Congrats! Worst part is done with. Now you just have to focus on healing. Did they give you a binder? That really helped me with pain. Also yeah, the napping is no joke. I'm 3 months post op and still find I need naps some days when pre op I was not a napper. But yeah, the first 2 weeks after surgery. I was falling asleep left and right. Lol
  11. I honestly can't figure out why they tell people to drink two of them. 1 is plenty! Full disclosure, I was told that I didn't have to do bowel prep but I got nervous about having to go after surgery and wanted a completely clean system when I woke up post-op so I totally bought a bottle of it two nights before my surgery. I drank a little bit more than half of the lemon-lime flavor (I agree, Sprite from hell) and passed everything in my system including all my liquids. It was an experience for the books.
  12. I really want to jump on the smoothie train with protein powder in it but I'm so terrible at making good smoothies. They always end up weird and fibrous. But I could give it a try - that might be the veggie boost I need. What are yalls favorite bariatric friendly smoothie recipes?
  13. Yeah the right sauce can definitely help. I'm so jealous of people that can eat salads. Never have I wanted a salad more than anything else in my life. Theyre just so convenient and healthy. I will try some low carb berries as snacks I think here and there.
  14. I'm literally cracking up! Sprite brewed from hell Omg how true is that???!!!
  15. Yes! I took a hot melatonin lavender bubble bath and watched movies on my laptop (I put it next to my bath to not risk it falling in). Then I did the special cleanser thing after.
  16. Hey! I'm 3 months post op from gastric bypass. I've been doing really well getting in my protein and vitamins everyday and the weight is coming off. I feel like however I don't eat nearly enough veggies as pre op and wish I could add more for overall health, wellness and gut health. Do you have any tips or tricks on incorporating more veggies into your meals? I can't really have raw vegetables or raw leafy greans but raw cucumber, raw fruit, raw shredded carrot, raw onion all seem to be fine in moderation. I absolutely HATE mushy cooked vegetables and mostly ate all my veggies raw before surgery (while doing pre op weight loss). Everytime I put cooked vegetables on my plate, I barely touch them because I find them so gross. Anyone have any dishes or tricks they can share on how to incorporate more vegetables? Thanks!
  17. No, I wish! I looked at some low carb recipes but didnt feel like it so I used cut da carb flatbread and air fried it to make it crispy.
  18. I think im okay. The nausea went away. I think I was just recovering from being om vacation, late nights, no sleep and wasn't on my typical eating routine. I've felt pretty normal the last week except one day I ate some almond flour crackers and felt really sick after bur I think it's because my stomach didn't like it.
  19. Taco cups with vegetarian ground meat, cheese, tomato, guacamole and salsa. I could only eat one and some broccoli.
  20. I think my vitamin has that worked into it. What's weird is my nails are growing like crazy. Like never before and are super hard and tough when before they were brittle but the hair is falling out. Hoping it's temporary.
  21. I feel the fatigue still. Hopefully it'll pass soon. Has the hair loss started for anyone yet? I'm starting to notice a good chunk of hair come out each shower now. Not looking forward to this at all. Thr left top side of my hair is already really thin [emoji854] (Sorry about the flakes, I'm recovering from a scalp sunburn)
  22. Looks normal (and fresh). My incisions turned yellowish green too. So long as there's no discharge, swelling or fever you're likely fine. Good to check with your doctor too. Here's what mine looked like one week post op.
  23. I'm almost 3 months out and I've been eating carbs since my puree phase (had beans then). I do everything in moderation, eat my protein first and enjoy carbs on the side. I've lost 42 lbs since my surgery. Carbs aren't the enemy, eating too much is. Of course we have limited room as weight loss surgery peeps so I understand the need for protein first but if your dietician okays it and you can stand it, go for it. I do best with Chickpea pasta, wild/brown rice and potatoes. You can chew them up really well so they go down easy. I've had the low carb tortillas but they get "stuck" most of the time so I avoid them. Haven't had bread/toast/flour/corn tortillas yet because I was told to wait 6 months for bread products.
  24. That's what I'm thinking since it's all of a sudden and with foods I was eating before. How much did your stricture procedure cost with or without insurance? I don't have insurance right now so I'm dreading the doctor
  25. It's been happening the past couple of days. My diet the past couple of days has been things like eggs, avocado, cooked vegetables, raw minced garlic, cheese, yogurt, soy protein, tahini, potatoes. I've had foamies before and this isn't it. It's like a delayed nausea that moreso sits in my stomach/organ area rather than my esophagus or throat. There's no foam or hiccuping. I just get really nauseous and feel like I need to lay down. It usually passes in an hour.
