2 Months Post Op Food
What stage are you in? It’s been a while but it seems to me like I was in soft food stage which was almost everything (to try gradually). Of course it excluded crunchy things. Also off the table were pasta and bread for me. I started with fish, lobster and crab with over steamed veggies and slowly added chicken and then moist lean hamburger (usually taco meat) and eventually a very tender cut of steak (some plans say to steer clear of hamburger and steak longer but My plan didn't specify and I hadn’t had any issues tolerating anything. I was fine with those as well). The main thing is just add things gradually and keep them moist with sauces if necessary and chew very well.

More hungry around period?
I haven’t really noticed the correlation but I do have times that I am more hungry than others. It’s possible it’s around that time and I just hadn’t noticed. I do know that I only crave chocolate during that time but that’s nothing new for me.

Endoscopy yesterday (9/6/2022)
I didn’t have to have one but I noticed the same thing after my husband had a procedure they sedated him from. He was still loopy talking nonsense as they were walking him out of the room. Seems like they could just wheel you to another room to sleep it off and then get dressed and leave as you feel up to it.

6 months post sleeve to bypass revision and dealing with DUMPING
Congratulations on your weight loss. Hopefully the fact that you dump, once you learn how to avoid doing it, will be a good thing (to help keep you on track).

Missed period
Now that I think about it, I haven’t heard of anyone being late yet either. You are especially fertile post surgery though. If there is ANY chance you could be pregnant I’d do a test. i just did a search and one other post came up for late period. And a few about periods do mention people with irregular periods being late. Personally, I’d still do a test to be safe, though.

No cooking!!!
I am not sure how easy it will be in the early stages. Takeout from a restaurant certainly, but dining out would be more difficult just because of how long it takes to eat and needing to measure things plus your actual restrictions of what you can eat. Plus if you do find something that doesn’t agree with you it’s better to be at home. Once you get used to what your portions should and are able to tolorate most things though you should be able to eat out without too much issue. I’m not sure you would want to eat out most meals though just because there are so few truly healthy options. Many people who don’t love to cook will cook a few meals one day a week or so and freeze portions though. Perhaps that’s something to consider. That would definitely be a healthier alternative to how most restaurants typically prepare their food. Or like arabesque suggested a home delivery service cuts out most of the prep work. Maybe that’s something you want to consider some days.

Links to compression garments and binders
You can always ask the surgeon if they will sell you an extra one. That way when you figure out how to adjust it just right the other one will be the same fit. You can always just call their office and see if that will be an issue but I can’t imagine it would be.

Nervous on vacation!!!! Help!!!
Yea I remembered that from another post of yours. You should be able to find Gatorade there if you have an issue sneaking in the peanuts but I say if your gonna have calories it may as well be protein if it can.

Nervous on vacation!!!! Help!!!
Hey. Maybe you should also bring some of those small packs of nuts to get some salt in since you may be sweating it all out.

Surgery the end of this month!
I don’t think any of us can say we didn’t have any fear pre op. In fact I would probably wonder why if you didn’t. I have been through three surgeries before this one and I still had some nerves a few days pre surgery. There is no shame in rescheduling if you are not ready. I have seen a few people on here who backed out and had the surgery a while down the road when they were truly ready. If it’s just the typical pre surgery jitters though, talk them out here. Write down WHY you are having this surgery and what your goals are. Also check out the “weirdest non scale victories” thread.

I can eat a lot more than I should - 2 months post op
I was like you. I could physically eat more than expected at every given stage and I mentally could have too. I had to measure my food out and eat until I was satisfied instead of full. Basically I would eat what I had portioned out and minutes later I would realize that I was satisfied at first but eventually I would start feeling satisfied around the time I finished my portion. It takes some getting used to but it can be done.

This will be very helpful for many people. Thanks for posting.

Nervous on vacation!!!! Help!!!
You can search menus for the park before you go so you know which restaurants have the more nutritious options. I read that you can substitute fruit for fries in most places in the park and of course you can ask them to cook your entree without butter. Then the obvious of eating without the bread and limiting the sauces, etc. In cases like that I usually just splurge a little on the meal and then eat veggies for my snack to sorta balance it out. You could also carry a Fanny pack (I decided they are acceptable fashion for a place like disney) with a protein shake and you can get a glass of ice anywhere. In October it depends on the day but it could be so hot you will be glad to not have a big meal weighing you down.

Nervous on vacation!!!! Help!!!
My aunt was telling me one day that she has seen signs some places that say no sharing. I haven’t seen them yet but I wonder why it matters to them. I was a waitress when I was in college and as long as someone left me a fair tip didn’t care how cheap they were (I’m assuming that’s why they think we are sharing is cause of money??). Anyways, we almost always share but I also bring a cooler with us so if we don’t want the same thing I can bring most things home. Salad didn’t make it. It still got soggy but that could have been the cooler or just because it had alot of water in it, not sure. This probably won’t help on vacation either. Then again if you were planning to pack a lunch and dinner, maybe you could just carry a cooler and take leftovers home for others to eat as a snack? .

Beware The Coffee Creamer Pipeline
Try premiere protein caffe latte. You of course can’t have four of them because it would be too many calories and protein but I have one every morning for breakfast and they are great and have about the same caffeine as a cup of coffee. You can also get caffeinated crystal light??

September surgery buddies!!
It’s a thing that plenty of people have done. Myself included. I did it because I thought I wasn’t ever going to be able to eat the foods I loved ever again. It really wasn’t necessary because I now can tolerate anything I ate pre surgery just in smaller portions but it won’t kill you either. Just that many calories you have to lose post surgery.

Nervous on vacation!!!! Help!!!
I know that many of us were taught to not waste food and of course we should try not to but sometimes it’s just not avoidable. If you can pack lunch and dinner and that works out better for you that’s great but give yourself permission to waste a little if it works better too. You are on vacation and you should be enjoying yourself. If there are not any smaller options available and you can’t share with Anyone else then just eat what you can and leave the rest. And remember, you aren’t really wasting money, You are investing in your health which will save you money in the long run. can you eat salad? A lot of times when I am out with another person who won’t eat their entire meal, I will just order a side salad and have a small piece of their protein. Alot of times there are two sides and you can choose a side salad for one of them with a slight up charge. Then I will have a shake for a snack if I didn’t get enough protein that day. Just depends on how you tolerate lettuce. Or can you order a side of veggies and just have a bite or two off of your families plates? If not, just know that whatever you have to do it’s gets easier the further out you get. Try not to stress too much about it though. Enjoy yourself.

Blood pressure
Maybe take an Uber or have someone drive you to the dr appt too. Definitely don’t want to pass out or even get dizzy while driving.

Is this normal?!
So glad you figured it out and are feeling better.

I cheated - now what?
Don’t beat yourself up. Like others have said what’s done is done. But the underlying issue may be something to explore in therapy. The surgery fixes your stomach but but your head. Many people swear by the work that they do in therapy and how life changing it is. Maybe ask your team for a referral to a therapist that specializes in bariatric therapy.

New ans starting process
I like their fruit punch too. It’s a little to strong for me post surgery so I mix one of those with one of the strawberry watermelon in a gallon jug and that’s perfect for me.

Under Boob rash
Good for you. They say statistically that people who get plastics are more likely to keep it off too.

Under Boob rash
I was told to use this on my thigh chafing as well. I wasn’t sure if it’s the same issue that causes it but that worked for me on the chafing.

So many updates, so little time...
Wow. You are incredibly busy. That’s awesome to get rid of some clothes. It’s like we are accepting that this actually is working this time unlike all the diets in the past and I’m so glad they went to some really good causes. I am sorry your in another stall but at least this time your not letting it freak you out. It will pass before you know it. I’m SO glad you have an appointment for your scope and I hope you get some answers really soon. Congrats on being down to the last two classes and it’s awesome that you have a goal but if you don’t reach it, don’t let it stop you from attending. I didn’t attend for my AA or my BA and I actually regret not attending. The AA was for legitimate reasons but the BA was because I was embarrassed of my size and didn’t want to be in the limelight. Such a shame because it’s hard work earning that degree and we deserve to be celebrated. What a cool mom letting your daughter play hookie and shop for her sweet 16. Those are the memories that we tend to remember as the years fly by. I hope you are enjoying your weekend as well. Keep up the good work!!

Under Boob rash
Admittedly I was lower BMI to start so I didn’t lose as much weight as some do but I lost 66 pounds and I only shrunk ONE cup size. I wish I would have lost more of them. Sad thing is I have tiny implants hidden down somewhere I got in my 20’s that even my Gyno is like are you sure wait now I feel them so I don’t qualify for a reduction because I did it in part to myself. Maybe some day I will hit the lottery and that’s the first thing I will be doing. Boob job.
