  1. When I had my sleeve I would weigh myself daily (because I couldn’t help myself, lol) but I only recorded it once a week. That way I would see the downward trend better. Our weight can fluctuate by a couple pounds in either direction for so many things. We would really be better off if we would just Weigh like once a month but I get it. That’s really hard.
  2. My SADI revision surgery is scheduled for 8/7. I currently am trying to cut caffeine. Apparently too fast because I just woke up with a headache.
  3. Some really great ideas. Thanks. I googled the Tempe and I’m not sure if I’m adventurous enough for that quite yet but i keep saying I’m going to attempt to make tofu And give it a try. Or should I maybe have it at a restaurant first? Just so i know how it’s supposed to taste. Do they even have tofu at non-vegan restaurants? I don’t think we have a vegan one near me. Maybe my friend does- She is in a little bit bigger town.
  4. Well. I am waiting on my appt to know for sure what my pre op is supposed to be because the girls at the front desk don’t know but I THINK I have two weeks left to eat what’s in freezer and panty so I don’t think I will be having anything healthy to post on here. Hopefully by the time I get back to normal foods there will be lots of new ideas to keep me on track.
  5. I am so thrilled you sailed through the procedure and that you got that time slot. Like it was just meant to be. Oh wow. At least she realized that she was wrong and apologized. Probably best case for you to be able to put it all behind you now anyways. You’re on a positive journey now and moving forward. No need to be looking back or holding on to negativity for something you can forgive and forget. Just a heads up it can take a few days to completely sleep off that anesthesia. I was taking naps for a while after mine. I suppose it always has made me tired with surgery but I just assumed I was tired because I was in pain and on pain meds. Nope, even without them I was extra sleepy.
  6. Now now @AmberFL we are trying to get her to abstain for a while longer. ?
  7. Ooh yea as @NickelChip just stated and reminded me that they may want an upper GI and/or endoscopy if you have suspected or diagnosed GERD or prior abdominal surgeries. Or some doctors just require them for everyone (I think to look for hernias before they go in there). I have Mild GERD from the sleeve so he wanted those two tests as well as a gastric emptying study prior to my deciding on which surgery is best for my revision (bypass or SADI). That was a pretty complex decision though, since I had already have the sleeved stomach and GERD. I wouldn’t expect all three for a virgin surgery.
  8. Yea. I guess 9 more days won’t kill you to see if you need to do the sleep study first. But after you get that appt. If I was you I would go ahead and schedule the surgeon a little while after. Mine is always booked a month if not two out. Then again I’m impatient.
  9. Kinda makes you wonder why they don’t just send you to an allergist to get a scratch test post op. I may actually do it now before I have peanuts or shellfish since I’m paranoid. ?
  10. I was trying it think of what else could be In most deserts that you are sensitive to if it’s not the sugar as you suspect. Maybe the dyes??
  11. I’m afraid I can’t answer. But there is a pregnancy forum on here. I don’t know if any of them had pcos but it could be worth posting this question on there as well. As you probably know when you post to a thread that’s existing, it sends notifications to the people who participated in it already to let them know that there is new activity. Well, depending on their settings. But this could be a way to get the attention of those people who have posted about becoming pregnant post WLS but aren’t active on here currently. Just a thought. Also, try searching PCOS and pregnant using the search tool for the site if you haven’t already. Best of luck. ?
  12. That’s odd but like @catwoman7 said. It doesn’t sound like textbook dumping. I would run it by your doctor. It’s also possible it’s something completely unrelated to surgery that you need to look info.
  13. Mayne it was the nuts? Have you had them other times?? Not sure what a mild reaction is like to nuts but I have definitely heard some people develop Allergies to nuts and dairy.
  14. Congratulations on your decision. Unfortunately I don’t have that insurance but do you usually need a referral to see a specialist? I suppose If you were to call a surgeons office and ask to schedule they would let you know if you really need to wait until you see your primary. Then again if your appointment is soon it may make sense to just wait anyways so they can give you a recommendation for a surgeon if you don’t have one in mind For me, it was the surgeons office that let me know what all the requirements were. I have seen them vary slightly from one person to the next. It depends on insirance but also varies by the program as well as your medical history. For my Sleeve the requirements were a 6 month medically supervised weight loss attempt, psyc eval and a nutritionist appointment. Ooh and you will need medical clearance for surgery which depending on your health may be just routine lab work or it may be additional appointments like a cardiologist checkup. They may also require you to sort out the sleep apnea thing and make sure that the cpap is working to treat your sleep apnea sufficiently if you do have it but i’m not 100% certain on that (just seems like I heard something about that). I am currently pending a revision and this time he required an ekg that he didn’t ask for last time. I guess maybe since I’m a little older. They wanted the labs to be drawn within a month or less of my surgery date so I scheduled them and the ekg at my primary doctor at two weeks out from my surgery. Listing it out it seems like a lot but you will have a While to get it all done and they should walk you through it step by step.
  15. I wonder if you go in a while before with your list and tell them your situation if they would be able to order the items you want to try so they will be in stock if they aren’t already. I’m guessing if it’s a bigger chain store they won’t be able to but perhaps a smaller store could.
  16. i was wondering your exact surgery date as well but I think from prior posts that if I remember correctly it’s been a little over a month for you. If you update your surgery info it will really help us to answer specific questions.
  17. Sex can mean a lot of different things to differnt people or at different times. I mean if your a ways out and it was pretty low key I wouldn’t think it would cause any issue but if it was a workout that you’d only be able to duplicate at a gym and you haven’t yet been cleared to go to the gym then its probably not the best idea. If it hurts though, I think waiting a little while longer is probably a good call.
  18. Y’all need to do a thread specific to this particular change for these tips so I can find it when I need them in a few years. Lord knows I won’t remember. Unless you got some tips for that too. ?
  19. Not sure why but it seems to be a common trend that we don’t see the difference in ourselves. I have seen it in some of your other posts though with the before and afters. Sometimes it helps to take measurements too. So you can see the inches you lose.
  20. I literally just tried the core power by fairlife from Walmart and they are pricey but pretty good. They only sell singles but oddly enough if you buy 12 they come out cheaper than ordering from Amazon. Now whether they actually have 12 in stock will be another story. Crochet for me is a really good distraction so you may really want to consider giving it a try again. I use it to try to calm down without needing medication for anxiety. I am fairly new to it but it has been fun. After making a bunch of wash cloths and dish rags just to practice stitches, I crocheted the toppers onto kitchen towels so that they can be hung up in the kitchen. Everyone seemed to love them for Christmas. They asked me if I am going to make them for other seasons. lol They just use the basic stitches is why I mention them. I found the tutorial online. There are so many videos on you tube now to give ideas and patterns as well as to learn new stitches. If you have time to kill it can certainly entertain you for a while. Sometimes too long. lol

lol. This made me chuckle a few times, thanks for that. Yea I know I cant seem to take a side. I finally landed on the fact that they just need to take a long hard look at the system as it stands and give it an overhaul. Seems like maybe it’s been quite a while since they have. I think I may be onto something in them requiring one actual therapy visit post op instead of this evaluation pre op (that’s I agree seems more of a box to check than anything else). Just so the patient can see what it’s all about and decide for themselves if it’s right for them?? I am talking about what’s actually in favor of the patient succeeding. Not in terms of the insurance company saving money.
  22. I just bookmarked their site to check it out later. Thanks
  23. That’s good to know. I have been wearing leggings or jeggings for years as well. Even when it’s swelteringly hot unfortunately. I did find a product that’s a cream I used when I had my sleeve and would walk in treadmill that helps prevent chafing. It’s called chamois Butt’r. I found it on Amazon and it works. Can’t really attest to how long it works for because I just put it on and washed it off after I exercised but it definitely worked.
  24. Well if you like dresses they will definitely be cuter but depending on what your doing excursion wise sometimes you need the coverage that the shorts underneath provide.
  25. I do the same thing with clothes. If I find something that I actually like the fit I stick with it. Sometimes I buy backups for when something wears out. lol You could also consider Skorts. They look a little dressier than shorts while still being comfy. A couple solid color ones should pretty much match any tops you want to pair them with.
