  1. That’s a great idea to give yourself a gift when you hit goal. Just keep in mind that if it’s clothing that you may either continue to lose or Gain the ten-ish pounds of Bounce back weight that many of us do.
  2. I am on medications and the absorption issues with sleeve are less. Plus the need for vitamins tends to be less with sleeve. Most still need a multi and calcium but most don’t need extra vitamins that the other surgeries require.
  3. What do you do to remember if you have to take an antibiotic or something. Anything particular?? Maybe do that.
  4. I would call. If you haven’t had any struggles on the liquid phase perhaps they will add a purée phase between the two. Most of us have a purée phase anyways. Or, like I suggested before maybe they will at least let you have another protein shake. The extra protein shake should help without technically advancing your diet. They do fill you up for a good 3-5 hours. I know because even at a year out I still have one everyday for breakfast and depending on when I wake up it keeps me full till noon. I would choose food instead if it didn’t keep me full. But just three a day it may not keep you full long enough. If that makes sense.
  5. The first question I would ask is whether you will see him or her again before surgery. Not that it matters but if you will you can relax a bit that if you forget a question you can ask it next time. Also, make a list of questions and take it with you which it sounds like you may be doing.
  6. Do you have other pills you have to take? I take my multi vitamin with my other pills in the morning (after a protein shake) then I take one calcium with lunch at noon and another at 3. I still have alarms for the 12 and 3 ones but the morning ones I remember because the bottle is with my other pills. Eventually it becomes pretty much habit and I remember for the most part but If I am doing anything out of schedule I still forget so I still use the alarms. Oh and I say all this because my team also said no patches. They say there is no proof that they work yet.
  7. I had the same thing. Well I had a two week reduced carb/sugar diet and then one day of liquids. I didn’t realize till I got talking on here how lucky I was cause I thought mine was tough enough. I still say it was the worst part of the whole process for me.
  8. Kinda expensive though if you can just pay an out patient co pay for fluids.
  9. Yea unfortunately you just have to tough the pre op diet out. For me (I didn’t have much post op pain) the pre op diet was the worst part of the process. The liquids post op was easier because you aren’t hungry at least.
  10. Maybe take some of those airborne vitamin C things. Some people say they make your cold duration shorter??
  11. What does deleted through replacement mean? Did the OP just change their screen name?? I don’t get it.
  12. Some places that do self pay offer an insurance that will cover if you have any complications.
  13. Hello and welcome. I have not heard of it either but would like to know more. Hopefully someone out there has had it done.
  14. You say you don’t weigh your food, perhaps the calories you are logging are not quite accurate. Can you commit to doing it for just a couple of weeks? Maybe you are underestimating your portions and eating more calories than you think. You won’t have to weigh and measure forever. Once you have done it a few times with a meal you should be able to pretty much eyeball it but I know I was surprised when I measured and weighed things for the first time.
  15. They are a little pricey compared to my generic crystal light is the only reason I haven’t switched over. They are actually pretty cool. It’s a specially designed bottle and the flavors are in cartridges. You can adjust the intensity of the flavor on the cartridge. And they ones that have added vitamins and caffeine and stuff.
  16. What about cirkul? They sell them online on their site or at bed bath beyond. My aunt swears by them.
  17. The majority of us do not have any hunger post op (some do but it’s rare). It’s most likely not hunger. As for drinking lying down I can’t see why it would hurt in terms of the surgery but you may not want to cause you may choke yourself??
  18. hey. You know yourself and gotta do what ya gotta do to keep on track. I pretty much only do drive through so I don’t have to smell it.
  19. While you are there I hear their grilled nuggets are pretty good too if you can have them. I haven’t tried yet so if you do let me know. I like their market salad with the suggested vinaigrette dressing.
  20. That’s too funny. I am over a year out now and I just threw away a clear protein water that’s been in the back of my fridge forever. I just can’t stand the thought of drinking it. Plus it didn’t have an expiration date on the bottle and a i figured a year is kinda pushing it. lol
  21. I am pretty sure that’s how they make it at chick fil a (their diet lemonade) if you didn’t want to make a big batch just to try.
  22. Have you tried lemonade made with fresh squeezed lemons and Splenda? To me it tastes just the same as with sugar.
  23. Yea I guess I sorta do the same thing with crystal light and my iced coffee. Especially the iced coffee. I treat this as a very low calorie snack, but I do add almond milk which is 30 calories a cup so it’s not completely calorie free.
  24. Alot of doctors recommend just staying off the scales for a while post op because the loss is so unpredictable. If you stick to your plan you will lose.
