And I am inching closer to submitting a photo of me- because as a Fairly New Inhabitant of Onederland, I too am becoming proud of the WOMAN I am BECOMING, don't laugh but in real Day to Day LIFE I Am Shy still. This is the first social network I have appeared Brave on- but Guess What! I am fulfilling my Destiny after All!

Jealous of all these little skimpy outfits. It’s winter here in Aus and it’s cold, wet and miserable. If I post a photo I will probably look like the abominable snowman, that’s once I manage to drag myself out of my nice warm bed.

Did you get the sleeve or bypass? A 4 week liquid diet is BRUTAL. I totally understand what you're saying - I barely liked a lot of the liquid stuff to begin with... flavor fatigue sets in real quick. Hang in there -- eventually this will be all but a bad memory to you. It will come to an end eventually.

Have you ever been on a diet (or not) and had someone telling you constantly that you are doing it wrong. Even when you were doing it wrong? If not, I have, and it is something I rightly or wrongly resented.
The crappy thing for you is from the 'helper' side, you are pretty much in a no win situation. You feel you just must 'help', but any help will be interpreted as nagging.
Oh, and it get's crappier: At the stage he is in it's almost impossible not to lose weight. He is learning that he can do what he wants and lose weight. In a few months he will learn this is not true and then it will be too late to build success with weight loss as a positive feedback.
Really, you have a bunch of bad choices to choose from.
I have a relationship that we can sit and talk about these sort of things, but then that's it... it's up to us do to it. Frequent reminders do not go well, we work at supporting the right things, but don't force or push. It's an almost impossible balance that we often don't manage.
    Good luck,
    Tek

JoanneLaRusch reacted to catwoman7 in How do you eat going out?
it's just temporary. I just skipped going out the first month or so since it was too challenging to do. After that, when I was on soft foods, I'd get something like chili, or a pureed Soup, or shrimp cocktail. The further out you get, the more options you have. Once I was several months out I could eat most things except for really fatty meals (I still can't handle those).
and you won't be on a half cup forever. I've been in maintenance for a few years now, but I'm sure no one can tell I had WLS. I eat like my thin friends do who are watching their weight - in other words, I'm a typical "light eater", but nothing out of the ordinary. When I go out, I'll get an appetizer, or split an entree with someone, or get an entree for myself and take half of it home. Same as my never-been-heavy friends do who watch their weight.

I gave these a try tonight and they were actually pretty good. Its sliced mozzarella baked til its golden, then you roll whatever you want in it. I used shredded chicken, and some seasoned black Beans and corn. I was only able to finish like 2 if them lol, but that's because it's been really hot and I haven't eaten much.

Hello I’m back to report that I have been sleeved! Coming out of surgery was rough! I threw up two or three times which I’m told is very normal. I wanted to sleep most of the time, so I wasn’t immediately up and walking. I had this terrible ache in my upper stomach that was not incision pain, perhaps hunger? It was strong but the pain meds and sleep helped with that.

Eventually, I got several walks in and used my lung breathing thing. Can’t recall what it’s called, but it helps your lungs expand and avoid pneumonia.
So far, I can tolerate liquids well. I went a whole night without pain meds and feel great. Your first two night may be a lil rough, but just remember that it gets better.

I have been doing me preop diet since October 22nd and it hasn’t been bad. I’m so thankful. Tomorrow morning I start straight liquids to get ready for surgery Thursday morning. I’m hoping tomorrow goes easy as well.

This is my mom's plate because after trying to weigh out 2 ounces of salmon it looked a bit shredded. Honey dijon air fried salmon, air fried fries, and green Beans. Yum! This feels like a splurge but I did 2 ounces salmon, 1/4 cup green beans, and 1/4 potato per my RD plan. Doing it again tonight!

thanks to everyone that answered, i did start drinking a lot more Water these last couple of days, not a lot has changed im afraid. the doctors keep telling me i need to give it time, however as time passes i get more and more desperate and anxious unfortunately. its scary when everyone is telling u that you are healthy but u don't feel it. i really hope that with better nutrition and more water it will go away eventually.

it sounds like other medical conditions have been ruled out so a nutritionist is a great idea. She can get you on a balanced diet. Don't forgot to drink lots of Water. Dehydration can cause lots of issues. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm only 10 days post op, so pretty close to you in the process but I've not had any troubles getting liquids down. I never felt full at all with liquids. I started adding yogurt in yesterday and it's the first I've noticed starting to feel a little "full" before finishing the cup. I can tell you I have a LOT of head cravings but no true hunger I don't think. That having been said, I'm frigging sick of liquids. Soo ready to move on to purees Monday.

I have had it in for a month and it is wonderful.
I have had no major problems at all (apart from a bit of nausea in the last few days, which on a scale of one tto 10 would be three).
I wish I had done it years ago. I have wasted thousands on other treatments over the years that did not work.
This works for me. I have lost 23lbs in a month.
