A little over 4 months out now, and as of this am I’m at 169, down from 228 on surgery day. For reference I’m 5’8”. I’m pretty pleased with the progress though like everyone else I wish it was coming off as fast now as it did in the beginning 🤣 I’ll hit a stall for a week, drop 3-4 lbs, then up/down a few ounces for a few days, then drop a little more weight. I can’t not weigh myself every day because not doing so, not being really really diligent about managing my weight, is what got me into such a bad spot in the first place. I just know that stalls happen and it’s not the end of the world to go up a few ounces for no damn good reason, and it doesn’t mess with my head too much.

i still have a TON of constriction though 😕 I regurgitate after almost every meal even if it’s just a few bites of food or if I eat pretty slowly. I don’t know if this is normal at this stage but I will bring it up at my next appointment.

Girls weekend in the mountains. Breakfast on our deck & view. I ate the scrambled eggs only but snaffled one of the fruit & yogurt dishes for later in the day.

After pxt of our Ploughman’s lunch. Was to be at a campfire on a rise but way too cold & windy so settled for a lounge in front of the fire on the terrace. I ate so much cheese & drank more than I usually do but it was deliciously wonderful.

Dont feel like eating dinner (I made subs and fries for the fam and it does not interest me)
Soooo...liquid dinner for me, I guess.
Espresso martini: 141 absolutely non-nutritious calories.
Disclaimer: I do not recommend nor endorse this type of “dinner” for anyone in weight loss phase. 😛

Yesterday’s dinner was salmon and salad. Ate one piece of fish and the whole salad. The other piece will be for today’s dinner. Also has one piece of my bfs crunchy tuna roll.

And a NSV from today. I went shopping for the first time in almost 7 months (last time was pre-Pandemic as most stores are just starting to open here). Last time I was still in plus size and I was so frustrated with the complete lack of options (shopping discount type stores like Nordstrom Rack and Marshalls). Today, there were so many great options - it felt amazing to be able to pick clothes I like v. anything that fit and didn't look terrible. I still have a ways to go so I bought a handful of tops and stopped myself but seriously so excited to be able to wear clothes that are my sense of style!

Water makes me nauseous. After so many trials and errors, I bought Luisianne Decaf tea bags and make tea in my cold brew coffee maker. I will drink a lot because the Luisianne is not bitter like most teas, sugar and caffeine free. No muss, no fuss.
Using small eating utensils works for me. It takes longer to eat with them and taking smaller bites allows the food to go down better. I bought mine through Amazon and rather than being toddler flatware, they are dessert ware.
Protein Shakes out of the container are not easy for me because sometimes they solidify and no amount of shaking dissolves it. So I put mine in my Nutribullet with ice and sometimes almond milk.
When on the soft foods diet, ground beef is one of the only meats allowed. I take a pound of hamburger and mix in salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. I press it into a glass loaf pan which makes a thin loaf and bake it. I can take slices and eat them with vegetables or alone to fulfill my Protein quota. Most often I pair it with Beans to up my protein.

Fish tacos with cedar plank grilled halibut, creme sauce made with low fat Greek yogurt, lots of fresh veggies, avocado slice, homemade pico de Gallo, and a bit of cotija cheese on jicama wraps. Two tacos about 180 kcals. I ate all of it. I don’t know how, but I did 😬🤷‍♀️

Yesterday I ended up making a veggie broccoli crust pizza instead of a stir fry. The whole pizza was 569 cals and I ate two slices so about 70 cals a slice. If I used Tomato sauce instead of Alfredo it would be much less.

Supper tonight...a mini taco (Mission Street Taco) it is about the size of the palm of your hand. And, hubby aimed high with the 5 chips, I ate 2. There are jalapeños and onions cooked in with the meat, of course there is the salsa, “guacamole” is only avocado and lemon juice. ***Please forgive my plate...my secret is out now, I eat most of my meals off on toddler plates or baby bowls and use baby spoon.***

    Breakfast from yesterday and today.

Pic 1: Avocado toast on zero carb bread with boiled quail eggs and sautéed mushrooms.

Pic 2: My usual breakfast/lunch when working in the office. Scrambled tofu with mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, and onions with half an avocado.

Brunch this morning. Protein pancakes made with eggs, cottage cheese and rolled oats and a dab of maple Syrup. Used leftover pancakes for little lunch sandwiches. Very filling and satisfying... Yum! ;]

Missed everyone! Back home after the cabin retreat. We saw lions, tigers and bears, oh my! Actually, just bears. A mama bear and her two cubs then, a juvenile later down the lane. Here's a few great dishes we savored from a roof top restaurant in town. Hubbies homemade strawberry rhubarb pie-ettes for himself and our cabin guests.

Just also like to mention how helpful I'm finding the forum on this site. It's be a bit daunting to see the topics where people are having problems after surgery, but it's much better to go into it knowing what to expect and with so many helpful comments as to how to overcome/deal with the problems. 😄

yes, you do have to work at it or you'll gain back a significant amount of weight. The surgery acts more like a strong tail wind - you still do the work, but it gives you a huge boost.
I started off MUCH heavier than you - I had about 15 stone to lose. I am 60 years old. I spent DECADES losing and gaining weight. Four stone would have been one of my more successful attempts - and I would always ALWAYS gain it back. And I had 15 stone to lose. I knew there was no way I would EVER be able to do that on my own, if I couldn't even keep four stone off for more than a few months.
as for Hair loss, some people lose a lot, some lose very little, some don't lose any at all (I lost hardly any). But for most of us, we're the only ones who notice it. And it grows back. I think most "vets" on here will tell you that in retrospect, we wonder why we wasted even one brain cell worrying about hair loss. In the grand scheme of things, the hair loss was just a minor (and temporary) annoyance. I would take the hair loss any day over almost 400 lbs again. ANY DAY!

You guys are doing great! I am in another "stall" ...been the same weight for a week. I pretty much knew this was going to happen because for three weeks - I was losing FAST... like 3½ - 5 lbs per week.
I knew it was going to be too good to true and wouldn't last.
But yes, I am with you guys and just trusting the process too and doing as best as I can do... following the guidelines.. whatever will be.

Yes!! I’ve been wondering how you are sleever twin! I haven’t had much reflux, luckily but I do burp when I’m full all the time (very lady like 😂) I still have a long way to go to goal but I’m trying not to think too far ahead. Just did a big wardrobe clean out of clothes I’ll never wear again. Gets addictive, soon I’ll have nothing to wear 😂🤣

That doesn't sound surgery related. Loss of taste and small is a big sign of COVID. You should definitely get tested and isolate from other people. Sorry
