Nerves are normal!! But I think you will find that most of the posters agree that this was the best decision of their life!
I will tell you that I thought I would not be able to eat normally or enjoy food again...but even two months out, I have gone out to dinner and been able to enjoy food while still losing weight.
The first weeks are tough, but after you get over the hump, the changes are amazing!
    Good luck!

I'm only a month out...and have also discovered a change in my tastes (although I would have definitely had a bite of the ribs...with something healthy that was on my food plan). I would try to come up with something like pulled chicken breast/thighs with sugar free barbecue sauce to satisfy my cravings.
I have been trying to find healthy substitutions for things I love...I have never enjoyed sashimi (my saying was "without rice, it's just raw fish") but now I love it! And it's so much healthier for me.
I also love Mexican food, so I made shredded chicken with SF taco seasoning in my Instant Pot and ate 2 oz of that with 2 oz of fat free refried Beans with 1T each of shredded cheese, salsa and sour cream. I logged it and it had 168 calories and 18 grams of Protein. I'll be honest, I couldn't eat it all...but I'm just starting real foods.
I read almost all of the Topic "Food Before and After Photos" which gave me great ideas on food I could still enjoy, albeit in smaller portions!
This is an opportunity to try new things and see what you like...focus on protein and healthy substitutions. Good luck on your journey!!

I'm pretty new here, but have you looked at the thread food Before and After Photos? I find that so inspiring to see what people are eating and how much they are eating! It's a very long thread, but I started at the beginning, which is when the most prolific posters were getting started on this journey! I have also found inspiration in the Favorite Grocery Products thread. Good luck!!

Not everyone loses hair as WLS, but it does happen commonly enough. That said, it's a temporary thing in almost all cases once the body adjusts to the changes brought on by the surgery.
In my case, the hair was already on it's way out even before I had my first surgery, let alone my revision.

Good morning! It's been a while since I have posted on this thread...I was suffering through the dreaded week 3 stall! I'm glad I have started losing again, and I hope to continue on!
I was a little concerned about this weekend, as I was hosting my mom and my sister for Labor Day weekend. Due to a pre-surgery grill accident, I don't have a grill right now, so grilling was out! I told my mom that I wasn't up for cooking much, but I was dying to go out, since my son, Kat, will not eat in restaurants due to the pandemic. We went out for Mexican, NY Deli, sushi and seafood. And I actually LOST weight! YAY! Mexican, I ordered shrimp fajitas (ate about 1/3 of the shrimp and some refried Beans and saved the rest of the shrimp for dinner last night, although I couldn't eat them all). NY Deli, a scoop of chicken salad on lettuce with tomatoes, carrots and cucumber. I ate a couple of cucumber slices and a carrot stick before I realized that I am not technically supposed to eat raw veggies yet! Sushi - sashimi appetizer (9 pieces, I ate 7 and gave my mom 2) and seafood, ate 2 of my mom's oysters (yum) and ordered the seared ahi appetizer, which I could only eat half. Last night, my son made couscous with grilled vegetables, which I ate about 2T of couscous, with some veggies and some of the leftover shrimp.
Why am I telling you this? Because one of my biggest fears was going out to eat and not being able to enjoy myself (and my food!) I had a great time, and while both my mom and sister were aware of why I was ordering what I was...I think I could have pulled it off at a work dinner or date! I even had a margarita on Friday (with SF margarita mix) and a glass of wine on Sunday! (Shhhhh! Don't tell my surgeon or NUT!) LOL
I hope everyone had a great weekend (not that it's over yet) and is continuing to be a loser!!

kellym1220 got a reaction from Zom B in Can't stop cheating on my preop diet
I will tell you this, I was supposed to do a two week liquid diet, did one week and the surgery was cancelled. Then, I ate real food, trying to stay low carb, but got kind of pissy over the weekend and ate Italian and Mexican food for dinner...and did NOT do low carb (although I did try to curb my carb enthusiasm!). Then feeling guilty, I called the doctor's office to ask them to give me plenty of time to do the two week pre-op before re-scheduling...AND they had managed to get me in ON THE ORIGINAL DATE at a surgery clinic (as opposed to a hospital). I came clean and they said not to worry about it, just get back on the wagon. My surgeon said my pre-op was fine.
Now, does that mean it will be okay for you? I think you need to talk to your surgeon and let him know. Everyone (sleevers and surgeons) is different and my experience could vary wildly from yours. And I think you need to make sure that your head is in the right place...as you could very easily only eat dessert after surgery, but you will not get the outcome you desire!
    Good luck!!

I'm in a stall too...zero pounds two weeks ago, but I have lost 1.7 pounds in the last week, so hopefully I am past that!! I have felt amazing and it's great to be down 32 pounds! I am happy to be able to eat real food again and still lose weight.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I didn't think I needed the antacids (I have never had acid reflux before) but it DID make me feel less hungry, so if you don't have them, try it!
