A few days is way too soon for the number on the scale to mean much. You still have internal swelling from surgery and Water weight from IV fluids. Not to worry! 🤗
  2. Congrats!

I'm 9 1/2 months out and still doing approx. 600 calories per day. Sometimes I go a little over if I eat out, etc. I'm nearing goal, but still in weight loss phase for now!

1200 calories is way too high. That’s a normal diet on Weight Watchers. I don’t understand some nutritionists. I maintain on about 1350-1400 a day

Yes indeed. I copied and pasted this from another thread 9/10.I’ll follow up with more details later.
I never did the math on this before. 8/18-8/19 I lost an average of 6.1 pounds per month. I had surgery at 204 and I lost s.l.o.w. I think one month I only lost 2-3 pounds eating less than 900 calories a day. I did lose it though!

Ann777 reacted to AZhiker in Not feeling restriction
I started feeling less restriction about 15 months after surgery. As many others have said, "You can't chase the restriction." In other words, you can't let a feeling of restriction determine the volume of food. You have to pre-choose your food intake and eat just that amount. This is learning how to eat normally. It is hard. I struggle with it, too. Before surgery, I could put away HUGE volumes of food. I have no idea where it all went, but once I started eating, I could not stop. I have those same feelings now - like I want to keep eating once I start, and if I eat slowly enough, and stretch out my meals, I can put away a lot more that I should. I have to work every day to write down my meal plan and then do my best to stick with it. And to STOP once my meal is finished. Intermittent fasting helps. I don't eat until noon and then try to stop by 7 pm. I can still put away a lot of calories in 7 hours, however, and it is a new learning curve to learn how to eat 2 good meals a day, with some raw veggies in the afternoon and a small yogurt fruit bowl for evening dessert. No second helpings and no other snacking - regardless of how full I feel. The volume limit has to come from your head, not your pouch.

    Hi Rachael,
You are a few days away from a healthier you! Congratulations!! I am 3 months out and loving the journey. It's not easy but it's definitely not as hard as it was pre-surgery. Your feelings are so normal. Keep a journal and get ready to take care of you!

Welcome to the mission! Been there done that! Ok trust me on this, you have to not let it get to you, you will end up in a rubber room with a jacket that buckles from the back.
Everyone above nailed it, Mix up your diet alot, different foods, try some fasting, and flucuate you calories
I would do 3 days at 1100 calories then drop to a day of 500 then bump to 800 - That really worked for me Your body is saying WTF and is trying to conserve its fat = You gotta trick it.
Love the post above Its not the scale, You will get there we all have and it will be the best journey you have ever done

Well first of all That is not slow @Luv2cruz . you are only 2 plus months out and that is a great start . Your body is still adjusting . Havent you lost inches? your clothes are fitting different im sure. I am 8 months out and as for pounds I only lost maybe 50 pounds but guess what I was wearing a size 22 but I sit here today writing to you wearing a size 14 comfortably on my way to a size 12 so sometimes its not the scale that will encourage you ..Its the inches … Be patient all of you .. Stay with your program and eat mad Protein Drink mad Water eliminate the carbs and sugar all together , track everything you put in your mouth and it will happen...you guys are bugging for nothing … it will happen.. Good Luck and don't compare your journey with anyone else … our bodies are gonna do it it's own way and time.... it is impossible not to lose if you do what I just said and even if you mess up it is still gonna lose ….

Try changing up the foods you eat. I was eating the same things for a couple of weeks and when I added some new foods, added a 100 calories to my diet and changed things up, then I saw a good loss over the next weeks.
  10. Thanks

....As I am with how slowly the weight is coming off? I have been discouraged, but now I’m just getting downright disgusted. I am 10 1/2 weeks postop and have only lost 30 pounds. No, I do not think that is a lot. My surgeon told me that he expected me to be down 100 pounds by Thanksgiving. That is never going to happen.
I have a coworker on weight watchers and she is losing weight faster than I am. I am doing everything right, so I know that is not the problem.
I really don’t want to hear the speeches about how losing slower is better. This is just too slow. 😟 I would just like to hear from the folks that are also losing weight slowly and how you kept it going.
  11. Congrats!
Ann777 reacted to Lanie992 in Average weight loss following VSG
I am 8 weeks and have lost 26 lbs, so we're about even on how much we have lost in almost the same time period! I get discouraged too, but now I realize that it is normal. We just have to be patient.
  12. Thanks
Ann777 reacted to over65 in Average weight loss following VSG
Was encouraging to realize despite my slow weight loss, I am on target. I weighed 211 on day of surgery. I am 8 weeks postop and my weight today is 190.2 pounds. Those weighing 200 pounds on day of sugery weighed 184 on average at 3 months. So I will quite likely to weigh below 184 (6 pounds to go) at 3 months. I need to remember that those much heavier at time of surgery show faster weight loss in the first 3 months. So I am encouraged. Hope some of you find this table helpful.

I'm 11 days post op today so we are very close in dates. The liquid stopped working for me after week one but then I could bring in Protein Shakes and cream Soups. For the past 2 days a ricotta bake and tuna salad (along with shake for breakfast and snack) have kept me satisfied. I hope things get better for you soon.

I'm sorry that you are having these problems. They mirror what I went through with the lapband. The first years were fine, lost 70 pounds but somewhere along the way, the fill was too tight, too loose, vomiting, slider foods just to eat. Finally decided to get an unfill, gained all the weight back. My doctor said that some people just can't handle a foreign object being inside their body. I recently revised to sleeve, so far -so good. Good luck on whatever decision you make.

    Hello!
I'm officially in the revision family! Everything went well and I arrived home earlier today. Your posts helped so much because from the time I was out of recovery, I walked every hallway that I could every 3 hours. It really helped with the pain and gas. Well, I'm seven pounds heavier than when I went in but...has to be Fluid from the IV ' I only drank 30ml at a time! Just following up.

I've really enjoyed reading everyone's posts. After 10 years of the 'Band', I've decided that I must move on! Started with highest weight pre-band at 236, lost 70 pounds and things were great. Somewhere along the way, I was too tight (constant vomiting) or too loose (ate everything). Could never get back to the green zone. I gained all the weight back plus 4 pounds! So, tomorrow I am officially separating from the band and entering a new relationship with the sleeve. Please, supporters, wish me the best and hopefully my nervous jitters will calm down.
