Wondering WHY I did it!
Stick with the plan, it will definitely be worth it! I was thinking the same this week and I'm 4wks out of MGB today. I had a stall this week and gained 1lb but woke up this morning to a 1.5lb loss. I'm definitely not drinking enough water, I just can't fit it in! I found this video which helped me realise I'm not doing anything wrong and it's perfectly normal to stall or lose slowly, especially if you lost a lot before surgery (i lost 100lbs prior to my MGB) I have wanted to eat everything in sight, mainly out of boredom being in lockdown for 12wks! Maybe it's worth speaking to a therapist? The mind plays a huge part in satiety. You might be dealing with head hunger? I'm speaking to a therapist 21st April I did therapy for food addiction last year and it absolutely changed my life ❤️

Receiving Feedback?
I personally haven't given much feedback, as I don't think I'm far along in my journey. I have however given the advice I've been given by my dietitian and surgeon. But I also realise that what works for one person won't work for another. E.g. avoid ice cold drinks, stick to cool drinks and flavour with sugar free cordials. I was also told to add 4 tbsps of marvel (dried milk) to a pint of skim milk to drink throughout the day for an added 40g of protein I no longer have the puree diet sheet, but here is the week 5-8 soft phase and week 8 onwards solid food stages if you're interested

Why don't more people get the MGB? I love mine!
My surgeon said she recommends MGB over all others coz its quicker operating time, same recovery and better long term results. Had mine done March 16th. Love it. The whole process has been amazing. Not had dumping yet but had foamies and vomiting twice coz i tried moving up to solids too quickly. Lesson learned!

MINI GASTRIC BYPASS AND ACID REFLUX
I had a mini bypass March 16th. No acid reflux or bile reflux. I was prescribed 3 months of lansoprazole to protect my new stomach and reduce the risk of reflux which i was told is pretty common

Foul flatulence and stools
Have you tried asking your surgeon about this? I'm sure they'll be able to clear some things up for you ?

Hair Loss
Sadly I've been suffering from hair loss for a while, as i have a thyroid problem which i was told could take minimum of a year of the medication to start getting better. I was diagnosed Feb 2019. I haven't had hair loss yet but if i do, i know i wont deal with it very well ?

What food regimen are you on?
I'm now onto the soft food stage as I'm 4wks post op today but typical days were: Puree weeks 1-4: Breakfast: protein shake with skim milk Lunch: puree beans Dinner: greek yoghurt or chicken soup Soft stage weeks 5-8: Breakfast: blended oatmeal Lunch: protein shake or greek yoghurt Dinner: mashed potato and a tsp peas I didn't fancy the idea of liquidised meat ? so I'm substituting it for yoghurt, shakes and beans or peas.

Gatric Bypass or Sleeve?
I was leaning more towards the sleeve but my surgeon recommended a mini bypass. Same recovery time and better long term results. I'll admit i was very scared of the bypass but i had absolutely no pain, just discomfort from the gas. I had a minor bleed 1 day post op but it was fixed with compression bandages and a tranexamic acid iv. No regrets whatsoever.

3 weeks in!
My stall is over! I lost 1.5lbs this week. A lot less than hoped but I'll take it. So frustrating to not see the scale move but glad it's finally shifting 4wks post op today and healing nicely.

Food ideas
I'm moving on to the soft phase of my diet next week, which will be week 4 post op. But I'm very picky. What kind of food have you guys had on this stage of the diet? I've so far been able to stomach mashed potato, banana, yoghurt and soggy cornflakes ?

FOAMIES!
It kinda scared me coz it was the first time for me. Liquids have been fine so far, but I'm going back to liquids and puree for a few days to see if it helps
