I'm a disabled SAHM of a sweet special needs kid. This is the first time I've been THIS fat, but not my first weight loss journey.  In 2008, fresh off of a bout of intense depression (I've since discovered that I'm type 2 bipolar), and a divorce, I decided to do something about my situation. Over the course of 2-3 years I went back to school, got a degree, and lost 95lbs, getting to a low of 148, size 9 through determination, diet and exercise. I was a serious gym rat, 6 days a week- I loved it. I kept off the weight pretty well, only fluctuating by about 10 lbs.
I got pregnant in 2014, sadly, my son made me gag and throw up vegetables.... ONLY vegetables! (Otherwise, no morning sickness at all except with migraines- Sooo many migraines- ugh!) this didn't do well for my eating habits long-term. Between that and some comfort fooding because of cravings etc., I ended up about 180-190 post pregnancy. Not toooo bad, right? However, over the next 2 years I had 3 car accidents that destroyed my back/ neck/ mobility giving me chronic pain and a TBI.
That left me feeling defeated, depressed, disabled and with insufficient/ non-existent pain management. I became effectively bedridden, ultimately leading to my current weight situation. I've been thinking about bariatric surgery for years and decided it was finally time. I hope to get down to 130 lbs., because I was still a little pudgy at 148 and I'd love to see myself better than ever! Really though, I'm doing this for my son. My back sucks, and probably will always suck to some extent, but my weight gain has affected my mobility so much and I feel like I'm missing half of his life (and mine!) I want to be active again and be able to take him places that I can't now (after Covid is over of course.)
