It’s affecting all of us one way or another right? I was staying pretty strong until recently. Now I’m noticing that I tear up easily during rom-coms or touching commercials. Human interaction is so important and we are all isolated and yearning for life to go back to “normal”. There is no question that a low grade depression is manifesting, and I for one, am not interested in participating in that :)

My surgery was cancelled last week and if it isn’t rescheduled in December, this is the end of the journey for me. I can’t afford another max out of pocket in the new insurance year. I started to get really down and then I turned on the news. I realized quickly that I have nothing to be upset about! I have a roof over my head and have luckily held onto my job. I’m not in the hospital fighting for my life or wishing I had more time with a friend or family member who is sick. So this made me realize how much time I spend living in the future and how much time I waste not living in the present!

My new goal is to change my thinking behavior and not take any single moment for granted! How about a thread of positivity in the middle of a pandemic that is draining each one of us of happiness?

What is happening in your life right now that is AWESOME? Let’s share some light and lift each other up!!!!

Just almost the best treat when it's 3°C and raining outside. Strong coffee with heated soy milk, cocoa powder, a bit or brown rum and coffee spice.

Don’t normally eat dinner this late (started eating this a 9:15), but Mr. made another carb-heavy meal so I passed. But then i got hungry so...yeah.
Scrounged these up from the fridge: chicken, spicy sauce, Kimchi & cucumbers: 165 calories.
Moral of the story: don’t skip dinner, nor go too long without eating.

Wow, 3 meals/day with no Snacks would be difficult for me. I have 1/2 an apple or orange midmorning and other half mid afternoon or string cheese, yogurt, a vegetable, etc.-something sensible but it prevents stomach acid and nausea for me. It also helps maintain a good blood sugar level in my case. We’ve each got different issues to deal with so makes sense plans can be different. I told doc I want my plan to be something I can live with long term and this works. Continued success and best wishes to you!

Yes, a battle. One thing that has helped a lot was my Dr. suggesting not going over 2 hours without eating something. When I plan these mini Snacks, most times I’m able to say “okay self, it’s just head hunger. You had something an hour ago and will again in an hour, so hold tight and get over yourself”.
Doesn’t work 100%, but hey, I’ll take 60% help and trust that this muscle memory will get stronger each time I refuse to give in. Good luck!

Same, EVERY morning like clockwork. I don’t let it get me down, expect fluctuations but as long as overall trend is right I’m a happy lady.

Will never, ever give it up! Waaaaay to easy for me to look the other way and bury head in the sand—been there and know how that movie ends.😫

    Hi! I'm on team weigh-every-day.
Every morning when I get up, I pee, take off all my clothes and get on the scale.
I'm a numbers and data kind of gal and I like (love, really) keeping track of progress over time...my scale is hooked up to an app on my phone, so all the graphing, etc. is done for me. This allows me to see any trends in weight loss/gain and make adjustments if necessary. I've been doing this for over 2 years now. (I did go through about a 60 day period when I DIDN'T do it daily, AND stopped tracking my food regularly, around Febuary-March of this year, and lo and behold, I gained 6 lbs)
I understand though, that this is not for everybody.
Its probably best to use the scale as often as you can stand without inducing anxiety. This will be different for everybody.

Thanks, Chubrub!! Looks Super Great so I ordered one. Reviews are fab, any tips for getting it on? One humorous creature said she dislocated her elbow getting it hooked🤣. Can’t wait to get it!! And cannot beat Amazon’s free ship, free returns. I mean how EASY they make shopping!!

LOL!! I put it on over my head (like with a tank top or regular sports bra), then pull my boobs up to get them into the cups, then reach back to do the hooks! Once you get the hang of, it's easy! Let me know if you love it as much as I do!!

I don't have a girdle suggestion, but definitely have found a bra that I absolutely love!
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VK8G7RQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1
It's actually a sports bra, which I needed, so I ordered one to try it out.
I found that It gives me the perfect shape under my t-shirts, blouses, etc, so much so that I went back and ordered 3 more, and now use these as my every day bras. It's a racer back, so the straps are more narrow in the front which means that if you had a shirt with a wide neck hole the straps might show, but the bonus of the narrow straps is that they never slide off your shoulder. I can bend down, do whatever, and nothing can ever pop out.
I seriously love this bra! LOL!!

I had bypass yesterday morning and feeling good overall. I’m just looking for someone with a similar experience. I’m only needing to lose 80-85 lbs for optimal BMI number. I had high blood pressure, blood work has the bad elevated numbers and have been borderline diabetic for years (2 gestational diabetics pregnancies). Just seeing if there’s others that have less to lose then 100 and how long did it take to hit the number & maintain? Thanks for reply’s!

I just had gastric sleeve to gastric bypass on October 29th. I had lost 60 pounds after sleeve surgery but slowly gained 40 back over the past 6 years. My bypass surgery was done for chronic GERD/Gastritis/Esophagitis, but I will lose weight as a "side effect/complication" of surgery. My surgeon told me I won't lose as much with this surgery, so I'm taking advantage of the recovery period to refocus on good, healthy food choices. I need to lose 25 pounds to get to a BMI of 24.9 - Normal Weight, which is where my gastroenterologist and Family Practitioner want me to be. Of course, I'd love to weight 145 pounds...haven't been that weight for over 35 years!
Good luck on your journey and keep us updated on your progress!
  22. Congrats!

Ok, so we have pretty similar starting stats (along with @mae7365, lol)
Mandatory Disclaimer: everyone loses at different rates, based on a whole myraid of reasons, and one's success is NOT determined by the results of another. Further, how much, or how fast, one loses weight is a poor indicator of long term weight-keeping-off-ing (I can't think of a better word here, lol).
With that said: I am 5'2" and was 235 lbs 2 weeks before surgery. I was on blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds, and was borderline diabetic for a few years too. My doc tried to manage my expectations by telling me that it would be considered a success if I lost 65 lbs, which would have got me to a BMI of 31.1, and hopefully get off my medication.
I had other ideas, and wanted to get down to below a BMI of 25, which for my height calculated at a goal of 136 lbs (i.e., lose 99 lbs):
Lost the doc's expectation of 65lbs by 3 months post-op (and was off all meds) Lost my own personal (1st) goal of 99lbs by 6 months post-op I am now a little over 2 years post-op and weigh 115-120 lbs (BMI 21-21.9)
I think its too early to tell if I can maintain this weight range for the longer-longer-longer term...but so far so good-ish.
    Good Luck ❤️

It has been a ruff few months. Back at the end of June my youngest (29) son admitted himself into rehab. He got out early-mid Sept. and has been living with us till his apartment is ready. My mom (72) is back on pain meds (she was addicted most of my childhood) and i'm always the person everyone in my family seems to think can "fix" everything.... I CAN'T. So i went to counseling a couple of time (she and i didn't connect) but stopped going. Until about a month ago my weight loss has been uncontrollable... i just kept losing and size 0 is on the edge of being too thin.
So, i'm here "confessing my sins" to y'all..... Some of the only people that understand. I confess I feel lost and scared. Tim has been a great support, but i know that having J living with us is a strain on both of us.... and confess to really wanting him out and on his own. I confess that i have been snacking lately instead of eating "correct" food. Yesterday i ate a hand full of chips and last night i ate two Cookies. I confess i have not been drinking enough. I confess to not exercising.
Don't know how, but woke this am a lb lighter........ BUTTTT......Today is Monday and it's a new day and I have to stay strong and do what i know to do and take my own advice.
Has anyone ever done a "life coach"? If so, tell me about it...

First of all ((hugs)). You are completely normal and only confessing to being human - like you said today is a new day. I have been in a similar situation and trust me I get feeling like the weight of the world is on my shoulders and that even understanding and loving friends and spouses don't always feel like a safe space to unburden our worries. That said, I encourage you to keep looking for a therapist - they aren't all the right fit. I went through about 3 a couple years ago until I found the right person for me. Think of it as 'dating'... I don't have a life coach, but a career coach who thinks he's my life coach lol. Ultimately what helped me is to realize that I sometimes need a break and that it isn't selfish to recharge my batteries or put my oxygen on mask first as you say.
And if all else fails, we are always here. Feel free to PM me (if there is such a thing on here) and I'm happy to share my number and personal story or just be an ear. Hang in there - you are not alone.
