Sometimes life is hard, and you have to push through things, even if it is a struggle. You will be much better off in the end if you maintain good nutrition during the next several months.

Fatboyslim1 reacted to ms.sss in 3 month stall question
Everyone has a different definition of what a stall is, unfortunately.
I don't know about everyone else, but for me a stall is when a person's weight does NOT move up nor down, AND their body measurements does NOT increase nor decrease, for TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKS, while all other things remain equal (i.e., the person makes no changes in diet nor activity level during this time).
So based on this criteria (which I realize others may not subscribe to), I never had a stall.

Fatboyslim1 got a reaction from roselover50 in Having a hell of a time lately
There is a lot of data out there, which basically flows your own, showing that it is virtually impossible (but not entirely impossible) to lose a ton of weight and keep it off, without surgery.
For reason yet known, the metabolic reset of your weight set point and also the reduction of comorbidities only seem to occur after WLS, not with conventional dieting.
Add to that the new science that "pre surgery" weight loss diets are potentially unhealthy and at the least serve no purpose.
my opinion is you e done a great job with this stage of the process, and you should just fight it out and be proud of your progress. Not many people bring their BMI down that significantly on their own.

Pinch and release the skin on the back of your hand. If it snaps back immediately and perfectly, your hydration is good. If on the other hand the small bit you release stays up a bit, or doesn't immediately mold back like nothing happened, you are dehydrated.
You can literally go months without food, but you need the liquid, and some enzymes. Gatorade zero, stat.

Thanks for the advise. When I am in need of more insipid guidance I shall most certainly cc you for pre-approval. As for the rest of the audience, I am quite sure they "got it".

Are you asking for advise, or just looking for emotional support?
If you are looking for support, there is a Slow Losers Thread that is full of well meaning people who will take you under their wings to make you feel better.
if you want advise, then just look at your caloric intake for week weeks 4-6, decrease it by about 10% to make up for the lesser daily metabolic burn or your your now lower weight, and you will start shedding just like you were before.
the hard part in this seems to be the transition to a more regular diet, and sometime people overshoot their goal by consuming more than they think they are. Even 300-500 calories a day too much is going to halt your loss, so keep it very lean until you hit your goal.
    luck!

Disclaimer: I am in the industry . So yesterday/Christmas day at a family party I had some wine. I just filled 1/4 of a glass, and then added the same amount of Water. Note: that is how the Roman senate drank their wine, so they would not get drunk (as the alcohol killed the various microbes in the water). This while virtually everyone else was drunk on wine or beer, as there was very little pathogen free water in the cities.
so anyway, I sipped that amount of wine in that social environment over aprox an hour, holding it primarily in my mouth, to absorb the effects of the alcohol. An hour or so later I did it again. So over a two hour period I had basically a half a glass of wine, and quite frankly it was little more than mildly intoxicating, with no adverse affect at all.
I AM NOT advocating drinking alcohol. I am however not so naive to think that people are going to obstain completely. Just be smart and quite frankly, you don't need to get drunk in life, to enjoy life

Live the honeymoon phase as long as you can. You really don't need anything much more than the protien shakes for another couple months. Why rush eating unnecessary food. The average complaint on these boards is: I eat like a bird, and I am not losing any weight.
you are the exact opposite, and you should relish the concept. You've got years ahead of you to eat good stuff.
    keep up the good work!

Just so we understand what you are gong through: did you say you are not drinking protien shakes, because you don't like the taste, and at the same time you are wondering why your hair is falling out? Are you getting at least 90 grams of protien every day?
are you tracking your exact protien and calorie intake?

Make sure you are getting enough liquids, low BP and high HR are indicative of dehydration. Your heart may be stressing trying to keep your volume/flow rate up.

Well of course we are addicted to food. That's what food does: trigger the natural opioids in your brain, which make you want to consume. It's how all living species survive.
Whats the point of your tale, to change millions of years of evolutionary development?
Sorry for your problems, but this ain't it.

Many reasons cause a marriage to go to ****. In some, adversity brings people closer. This was a sad tale, but I would image the Bariatric surgery was minimally causal.

The bypass has a higher chance of resolving your GERD (60%+/-) vs sleeve (20%+/-) but what has the best chance, is the losing of the actual weight. So if you can lose the weight with the sleeve, it is the safest bet.
    Pluck!

2.5 weeks until I see the surgeon should be good I know he'll be very happy with my progress.
since day 1 of my journey nearly 5 months ago I'm already down 127lbs and 61lbs since surgery.
currently sitting at 195 would like to get to 185 maybe even 180 but I'll see how things go. 😀
Should be picking up my rowing machine this coming week which should help with toning..
I'm getting very excited for the coming year ahead!
    THANKS
    Mike.

Why not just have your band removed? You have lost the weight for some period of time. Just follow the same kind of diet and call it a day? Even the sleeve is just a short term tool.
