@doublepau Those are all good questions. My pre op appointment is on Thursday. I have a 2 hour appointment at the hospital that I will be having my procedure and a 1 hour appointment with my physician and her nurse. I’m not too sure what to expect but will have these questions and anymore I can think of before.

I’m so glad you got on the schedule for Monday! But I feel so bad for you. I had the flu 3 weeks ago and it was awful but I can only imagine having it while on pre-op. actually an extended pre-op!!! I hope you get to feeling better really soon!

This is a good question. My pre-op is on Thursday so I will be taking notes as well!

@brian10x you are hilarious. Every time I read your post, I’m laughing. Most of the men in my life(husband, dad, brother in law, etc) are the same way, so you don’t offend me.
best of luck on your surgery. I’m scheduled feb 19th. Hoping I don’t die as well! But figure if I don’t go thru with it, I will probably end up doing just that so I might as well try!

I would call the insurance company tomorrow and ask specifics for requirements. My insurance also said they needed a weight history For the past 2 years and over the phone they kept telling me that I would need to complete a 6 month diet followed by a physician. My surgeon's office decided to send in for a prior authorization after my first appointment because I had already completed my psych eval and they said well we'll just see what they say. 4 days later, it came back approved. So you could also try doing that and then if it's not approved, they will get you specific requirements for approval. But I seriously doubt that you will need to wait years to establish that history. Usually I've seen 6 months as the max wait time.

Ugh. I am there right now! I start my pre-op A week from today and I have this whole week planned with my favorite dinners. I'm trying really hard not to go too crazy but it's a little hard. I'm trying to be very careful for Breakfast and lunch so that I can enjoy my dinner. And it's not horrible food but things I won't be eating post-op like meals with potatoes, pastas and that type of thing.

Also, check your medical records and make sure your measurements are correct. Not in relation to WLS but I had an issue one time with a nurse putting info in wrong and it showed that my BMI was a lot lower than what it actually was cause she had made me taller on paper. 😬

Ok thank y’all. I’ve never had one and want to make sure I have my money stuff together so my surgery doesn’t get cancelled. So I can just use it like a regular debit card, right?

Okay that's neat. I'm just doing alot of research to figure out what I'm going to do for post op with the shakes and broths and powders and best brands and all that. There's so much out there.

That sounds delicious! We don’t have anything like that here. I have tried Walmart and they don’t sell it here. It’s crazy cause when I was in Miami a while ago, they sell it at their Walmart but not here. It’s probably a good thing for me though because I like it so much and would probably go overboard with it.

I loooooove Dominican salami and cheese made just like that. My husbands family likes to eat that with yucca. It’s sooo good. Sadly, I like in Kansas and I haven’t been able to find either of those for sale here. We have to wait until someone goes to either New York, California, or Florida to get some. But it’s such a treat when we do get it!

Ok yeah. I was kinda thinking maintenance. I’m new to all this and am just learning about the “healthy” options for all of the regular foods that was in my diet.
