All inclusive Cocktails
I agree working on it - Problem is love that Friday Vodka and Juice to close out a week. I agree and have to really stop the fun, This is probably the hardest thing to stop doing plus i hate being told i cant do it so my rebel side comes out, Decided today to skip the after work cocktail hour and just go home. The diet and food thing is easy - Its the perks that are a b***h like Diet Coke, Vodka, Rootbeer. Tropical Smoothie. Ok Im going to go cry and curl in the corner - Just kidding Have a great weekend

3 months post op nausea
Try a does of Sea Sick Pills - I am the same time as you and it fires up about every two weeks. In fact today is one of those days where i feel light headed and sick. I have found if i take a ginger stick or a Bonnien Motion sickness pill It levels it out. No clue why the ginger works but a ginger stick works also, Just suck on it for 5 minutes and for some reason it goes away, It has slowly became less and less of a issue, hopeful it will go away for good for both of us.

Aversion to Poultry?
Same here - Both me and my brother have the same issue with chicken? No clue why and we both ate a ton of chicken prior to surgery. I have googled it and for some reason it is very common with no real answer, I can eat steak but chicken just does not cut it. One thing i can barely do is Pressure cook Birds till its pulled chicken or turkey, That is a little better but try it -

All inclusive Cocktails
Love this ordered a crate of these - Not going on vacation but gotta keep the vodka flowing

Dairy ?
I have never been a big dairy guy so but I tossed and still have days i can not eat - One thing i use to fill the big 4oz stomach and get it going is oatmeal, Not the best in terms of healthyness but two table spoons of oatmeal fills up the stomach, gives me some fuel and does the job, - I also puree foods like baby food when everything is being tossed back up, Small little amounts over a long period of time I also Hate water, hate protein drinks,

One week after the Sleeve- looking for friends
Welcome and everything you are going thru is common and it happens to most of us = Read my long post on my crash post op = I am a little ahead of you and can only say the best decision i have ever made, The road is rough in the beginning and it will get easier, I am wrapping up phase one of this journey and been up and down, But I can say with 100% confidence was the best decision i made. Ride out the rough spots and enjoy the journey -

dumping?
Learn Grasshopper the cracker will mess you up - Try eating just a little bit of soup If i eat any carbs i go down for 30 min also - Supposedly after 6 months this will change
-
First day home - it hurts. How long?
Going to be a rough few weeks but it does lighten up - Trust me on this one for sure - Walk SIp SIP walk move move walk walk - The more you move and get up and around the better - I would not be doing protien 48 hours out of surgery - I would focus on water more then protein - GOod luck and it does pass, Yes it sucks
-
laxative use
Never had to use any eithor - all of us are different - So i would try and go off it and see what goes on
-
Protein
I buy different ones all the time on Amazon - I agree you get tired of the same ones, I have started making my own now and mixes it up alot
-
Pain
Its a good month but should calm down a little - It will mess with your head so try and plow thru it, I to this day have pain when i eat, Nothing i cant deal with but still a pain. It will all end at 6 months for sure, Took my brother that long - I had the same thing as you and every day it got less and less - Moving and walking around seemed to really help

Post diet question
I EAT NONE! Ok that is not true cuz some foods just have carbs in them, But to eat at that point is insane stay so far away from high carb food its silly! Carbs are what got me into the fatty forum and nearly killed me, I was a addict to carbs with french fries, baked potatoes, rice, batters, etc! My view is stay clear of carbs and sugar till you die! You will have no choice but to get some carbs and sugar - But run forest run - This will be another 50 people reply on this one!

Problem digesting meat?
Way to early for solid meats - I can barely eat a small slices of skirt steak, beat to hell and tender. I agree with above if it has white on it - Trim it all off - The fat is most likely tearing you up plus the texture, At that point ground turkey, pork or fish or shellfish - Hamburger may be a little to fatty and rough that early **I just got back from lunch and ordered civeche, No way i was doing a meat or chicken
-
Protein Amount
I agree it wan't that clear - What i was trying to say is use the shakes to fill in - Nothing beats healthy eating, For me the shakes are easy to slamm down and it becomes a convenient issue - I did not get any real doctor diet, after two months it seems - Eat less and eat healthy - Had to dang hire a nutrioshinist to get my food intake in line, Funny I loose more on shakes and faster then food, but I also am the creator of F#$ck Food slogan! Also Fluffy no way going head to head with you - You are a Yoda compared to most of us around here! No is there a surgery that gets rid of work, Tired of this working stuff
-
Protein Amount
For sure the more you use the shakes vs food the faster and better you will be, Start becoming a mix master with the shakes, Go for flavor, Vitamins, - and mix it up - adding supplements and vitamins to the shakes adds a ton to your health Have fun
-
Reflux or nausea
Very Common I had it big time - Look at my post on Hearburn those little meds made it so much easier, Also do not drink or eat for at least a hour prior to bed time - Once you lay flat things swish around, Prop head a little also seems to really help. It will pass but I agree will drive you nutz
-
Did mine today - by robot
R2D2 did it - Cool congratulations on the start of a great journey
-
One week post op and very hungry
All normal - Some of it is in your head - Eat slow it will pass - Soon you will not be hungry at all
-
Post op healing - How long till I can return to work?
Took a full week for me but if you get up and walk sip walk sip will help speed it up - You may be uncomfortable but you should be able to get back to work
-
Just starting full liquids
yes very common you are putting foods on a open wound - Eat really slow - It will pass in time - I would say for now do about 3oz at a time no more - Take your time eating
