  1. Tonight's Lovely liquid delight - Home made Satay Pumpkin Bone broken soup with added tasteless protein. 125ml serve = 49 cals ? ? I have been having some pain like trapped wind when liquid hits my stomach the last few days, I think I have been eating too quickly ?
  2. so tonight I am just having tomato soup, with protein powder and beef stock powder, it's quite nice!? I haven't had store bought tomato soup since I was a kid and it was a Sunday night special with bread and or crackers l?
  3. Yes, the power outage was dreadful, we have never had power out for more than a few hours before, we managed fine, it's Summer here so no need for heating, and we managed to amuse ourselves - the food was the worse part! Not only did we lose all my Bari prepped food, but I have been food prepping for the others in the family too ... so much lost food. Our power company offer $250 compensation, it won't cover it all, but will help a bit. Makes you appreciate how dependent we are on our power!!
  4. 6 days Post surgery update! Feeling great! ? no problems tolerating fluids *touch wood* I have had some delicious home made soup which I strained, red lentil and veggies made on home made bone broth is delicious! I had prepped a large amount of bone broth and soups for Post surgery, but we had a Natural Disaster level storm through, which took out our power for 3 days!!!!!!!!! Lost everything, so have had to make more. Tonight I thought I would try Thai flavours and a bit of spice to see how my tummy reacts. Had a few sips whilst making it, and no dramas! Red curry soup with powdered peanut butter and coconut milk. 141 cals for small bowl. Taking it very slowly in case my tummy rebels.
  5. Oh how exciting for you, that's a new goal for me now!
  6. Made this tonight, it was so refreshing!! I skipped the parsley and subbed fresh mint, so good after all the creamy shakes!!
  7. I haven't had that pulsing sensation, but it seems it's not un common, if you're concerned, maybe talk to your surgeon. I am 4 days post surgery, and I really feel amazingly good! No problems at all, touch wood! Not having any hunger, am spending all day just sipping little cups of this or that lol but managing well with it! From my home scales pre - post surgery I have lost 1.8 kg in 4 days! From hospital scales I was higher prior, but they weighed with shoes, clothes etc. SW 110 kg / 242 lb SDW 104.8 kg / 231 lb (Hospital 106.2 234.1) CW 103 kg / 227 lb
  8. You have worked so hard Sophie, and look amazing! I bet it feels amazing too! So many Non Scale Victories!! I can't wait until I have a few of my own to share! Already after 4 days I feel amazing!! ?
  9. Thanks, yeah, the pain did suck, but not for too long fortunately. I feel good today, slight discomfort in the upper belly, but totally bearable!
  10. Well, it's done! The surgery went well, I went in about 1.45pm and woke in recovery at 3.30pm I had a fair bit of pain under my left rib/hurt to breathe from the gas apparently, and an uncomfortable night, but did manage to get some sleep once they removed the drip about 9pm. It's always hard for me to sleep in hospital though so no real surprise there! sipping and crunching my way through ice and water at 30mls per 15 mins has been fine, should get to go home sometime later this morning. So happy it's finally done and it’s all onward and upward (or should that be downward ?) from here ?
  11. Well, it's finally here, one more sleep!! ? Nervous, but excited too! Can't wait! ?
  12. Wishing you all the best for tomorrow!! You have a lot of sage advice above. It's hard I know, but try not to worry. It will go perfectly!
  13. Veggo meal Konjac noodle stir fry, made the sauce with a bit of tamarin paste, so it's giving Pad Thai vibes!
  14. Hi @PoppyVelvet Welcome, great to see another Aussie here! ?? Sounds like the logistics are a bit to manage, but I am sure you've got it under control by the sounds of it! That's fabulous you're coping well with the pre Op!! Funny how we want something when we can't have it isn't it! I just hit stage 2 of mine, which is 3 shakes or meal replacements and free amount of low carb veggies, it's been fine so far!! ? Thursday - 4 days to go!?
  15. Maybe I will, I have been thinking of it, mostly to inspire myself when I can't be bothered lol ? Thanks for nice feedback! ?
  16. Whoo hoo!! Well done ? Glad to hear it all went well!! Mine is the 16th, this coming Thursday, Anxious but under control ? Keep healing well!!
  17. I am Not in Berlin, sorry, but welcome to this online community, whilst it's not the same as an in person support group, people are friendly, helpful and supportive around here. ?
  18. 11th Jan, Last day of eating meat on Pre Op. Salad with Grilled chicken breast, Avo and a few olives. Next 3 days are 3 shakes/veggie soup and free grazing on low carb veggies only. Day before surgery I will do just the shakes.
  19. So glad it's all went well! You've done great so far ?
  20. Konjac pasta veggie sauce with a little chicken.
  21. Hey thanks, yeah I am trying very hard to stick with it by making semi normal food at night. This is how I will eat going forward, maybe not as big a portion, but right now getting about 8-900 cals per day, figure that will be good for weight loss going forward. Your Pickle salad sounds interesting ? Funny how we obsess about one thing!!
  22. Of course you know ... but, fighting the blinking cancer takes priority right now, and your head seems in a good space for that! ? It must be disappointing to have one health journey hijacked by another. I truly feel for you. The tool will still be there when you can focus on weight loss again. Don't despair, you're amazing!! ??
  23. I feel so very sad for LA right now, the poor souls who lost their lives, all those homes distroyed, 1000s of peoples lives distroyed, just so shocking! As someone from Australia I can empathise, we get savage bushfires most summers, but I don't think we have had one so badly affect an urban/suburban area as these have! My heart goes out to those affected. ?
  24. Grilled Greek style chicken with veggies. 6 days till surgery. 5kg (11 pounds) down Feeling nervous ?
