This is the right answer ....

That's a big assumption. You think surgeons is France, Italy, Spain all view wine consumption the way you and your surgeon does?
A sip could effect you like several glasses? That is impossible/improbable
I get that you personally disapprove very strongly, but why resort to scare tactics?
"permanent damage to your liver" "toxic reactions" "you get drunk from one sip" from "one tiny glass of white wine"??

6 weeks post-OP (technically that is tomorrow), but tried some cho-cho chicken from local Chinese place. Basically marinated chicken breast satay, four skewers. I could only eat about one and half skewers, about 3 oz. Guess I have lunch for Thursday and Friday as well. Just want to represent for all us noobs out here.

Whatever you decide IMHO please take into consideration the *PROFESSIONALS* opinion and course of treatment. You may not have the perspective to understand/self diagnose the issue.
    Wishing you well ❤

Take unflavored yogurt and mix in some flavored Protein Powder such as Syntrax. Tastes great and will give you a double dose of protein!

    Hello everyone.
This is just a few thoughts I have almost 1 1/2 years post op.
This was the best decision I could of made for myself. Granted I am still not at my goal weight. However I have not gained any back and I know if I want to get to my goal I will need to put a little more effort into it again. Which mostly is just getting back to the basics of what we are told to do right from the beginning, Eat healthy, and get your butt moving. lol
I know several others who have had this surgery some are a complete success others have failed and are gaining weight rapidly back. Some have taken their tool/ gift and have used it wonderfully and are healthy and happy and continue to follow the rules they were given and agreed to follow. Their hard work shows how much they appreciate what they have been given.
Others I know have snubbed the rules, they drink soda, eat chocolate by the bag, I watched one friend sit and eat an entire bag of Cheetos then say "I don't know why I'm gaining weight". She was not happy when I said " because you just ate entire bag of Cheetos and washed it down with a soda"
This surgery is a tool we have been fortunate enough to have. Just like any tool if you abuse it or use it other then what it is designed for. Its not going to work!!
So this week I started counting my calories again. I learned early my calorie threshold for consistent healthy weight lose was 900 calories per day. Most people are higher but unfortunately mine is not. And really if you think about it 900 is easy, especially because my pouch is small. I have not stretched it out. And I have lost 3lbs this week, so GOAL WEIGHT I'm coming for you!!!!

No you are fine - Your body is going thru healing and you are holding Water - Just stay on the plan and remember this is a journey not a sprint. You are in the toughest times right now and it gets easier and smoother as you go along

Uomograsso reacted to GreenTealael in Sleeve to RYN No restriction
So here's something you probably didn't know going into a revision from sleeve to bypass: with a sleeve your natural/original pyloric sphincter/valve remains intact but once converted you no longer have use of it. The strong restriction that was felt/existed with a sleeve *may* never be felt again.
But that's OK because you have a malabsorption tool now and if you use it properly (not chasing a restriction feeling & following through with the lifestyle change) you'll do just fine ❤

Hi, I had my sleeve done a week ago today. All is going pretty well. I didn't have to have any bowel prep with the Magnesium citrate And I've never heard of Anyone else who did either. Good luck with that. When you get to the hospital you'll probably go to admitting where they'll get you registered and put an arm band on you and then you'll be taken to the pre-op area. There they Ask you a lot of questions and get you prepped, starting and IV st cetera. The nurses are usually very good and reassuring. Your surgeon should stop by to chat with you. When it's time the will wheel you into the OR and have you slide over on to the OR table. It's usually about 5 minutes after you're there when they put you out and start the procedures. You'll wake up in recovery groggy. And you'll be there probably about 1 1⁄2 hours. You'll still be someone groggy when they take you to your room but they usually try to get you up within a few hours.Hope all goes well with your surgery best of luck to you.

I work from home and have a sedentary desk job. I had surgery on a Thursday released fro hospital on Saturday and took the next week off. Back to work on Monday so about ten days off for me. Was tired, but it was manageable.
