So the reason I choose 8-2-19
Was because I'm an out doors kinda guy.. I love my fishing and taking dips in the lake.. my son turns 2 in April and I want to enjoy his day.. If I do it early I feel like I would get dehydrated with this central California heat and get to miss out on a lot of fishing and swimming with my little one

I lost 15 pounds pre-op and 10 more in the next 10 days. "Normal" is what happens to you - just follow the plan and don't compare too much with others. Some people are fast losers and others are slower losers. We are doing great as long as none of us are poor losers!

Hey guys. I am 10 days Post Op Sleeve and I am down 27lbs! That awesome to me and scary at the same time. Dr says it great. He did sound a little shocked though.

Is this normal? How much weight did you lose in the first week?

Good Morning Everyone! I ran across this blog yesterday, took the majority of the day to read posts and excitedly joined this morning! Here's my story: I started developing health issues in 2010 at the age of 42 (207 pounds). It started with developing blood clots from taking the weight lose drug HCG - clots reached my lungs and I was 1 step away from death : ( I started the Slim Fast program in 2012 and lost 25 pounds. From there I joined a fitness group (my profile name comes from my group) and dropped a total of 75 pounds - lowest weight 132 pounds. From 2013 - 2016 I participated in races, one 1/2 marathon, cycling, jogging my neighborhood, Stone Mountain adventures and I even climbed Table Mountain in South Africa in June 2016 (African & fitness pictures attached)! No, it wasn't easy getting to this point BUT I pushed myself every day by accomplishing one goal at a time. I only post these to encourage others that these activities can be accomplished and to encourage myself that I too can one day have this extremely addictive energy again! Nevertheless, it all came tumbling down February 27, 2017. I slipped and fell in Publix's and my whole life changed. The last 1.5 years has been nothing but physical therapy, back/neck injections, daily muscle spasms, sever arthritis, lower back degenerative disk issues, pain when I get up and lay down at night & my weight has sky rocketed to "215" - my highest weight ever! Knowing my previous weight lose journey story, my Kaiser primary care doctor explained the VSG procedure, I nervously agreed and she submitted my referral for weight lose surgery - here I am!!! Surgery date August 27th! I need the support of this group and know you all will get me back on top with all your knowledge and expertise of the process. I "Thank You" in advance and look forward to seeing and sharing WLS stories!!! GRATEFULLY yours - "HipHopDiva"

I'm in my upper 40's and this is my 2nd go-'round with WLS. When I had Lap-Band surgery in 2005, I was younger and more "pliable". Having lost the same amount of weight with each surgery, I feel qualified to compare 30's vs 40's.
In my 30s, I didn't notice any sagging or wrinkling. I was happy. I felt good, I looked good (makes me wonder how/why I allowed myself to get right back where I started, but that's another story). Now, a little over a decade later, I'm more wrinkly and saggy. Not significantly and nothing I cannot hide under clothing, but I noticed it and it makes me self conscious. I also noticed crepey skin on my thighs. Again, easily covered with clothing. But the worst by far is the saggy, flappy upper arms. I try not to go out in public without these flappers covered (hard to do in Texas 100 degree heat by the way). I started this 2nd journey with no intention of plastic surgery, but I'm telling you...when I hit my goal, I am going to see someone about these arms and if my finances allow, I'm getting them taken care of.

Hi all, I'm a veteran of WLS and a life coach. I had my surgery in Vancouver Canada, and lost 100 lbs. Lately I've noticed that so many wls successes struggle with body changes. I've been pretty lucky myself, as an older married woman I'm okay with some sagging and wrinkles, but I would love to hear from others about what struggles they might have with this issue. You can share here, or message me privately, it would really help me become a more effective coach. And hopefully I can share some tips, too.
    Thanks!

New to this thread, hi beautiful people! This is my outfit for heading out to walk my dog and run some errands. Never in a million years would I have worn a crop top in public before now! Also strategically posing to hide my arms heh heh heh
I feel that clothes sizing struggle so much... I feel like I buy a new pair of pants or shorts and then by the time I get the chance to wear them they’re already loose. I’m bleeding $$!
