  1. Hi all. Doing well on day six but figured I’d post an update... Only the largest incision is sore at this point and mainly just when I go to lie down or bend or twist. If I am still/lying down no pain at all. I’m down 19.4 lbs since pre op diet began. Yeah! Full liquid stage is better than clear but it does fill you up a lot faster. I can barely get 4 Oz in of my protein drink and that is sipping slowly. I also feel quite full after that amount. I’ve also learned the hard way that if I am going to add unflavored protein to my strained cream soup, I should not reheat in microwave. Nasty chunks. Blech The hardest part for me is the fatigue I am experiencing. I have so little energy. For two days I have wanted to go to the store just to escape the house and I haven’t made it there yet. I’ve gotten as far as showering each day but today is the first day I actually blow dryed my hair. Lol When does the energy come back? I’m 55 so maybe that is why I’m so pooped? Or is everyone like this? I had surgery on 10/15/19. I hope everyone is doing well!
  2. It looks to me that your bruise is healing normally and therefore turning yellow. I’m not a doctor but your healing looks fine to me.
  3. I’m 4 days out and pretty much burp after every sip. Plus the noises, My God, the noises! I am sore at incision sites. Other than that, I’m doing quite well.
  4. I once used hair removal cream under my arms and I got a reaction that was pretty bad. It was burned skin and felt awful. If you want to try the cream, maybe get the kind that is for faces which may be more gentle. I sued the leg kind and it was rough!
  5. Hi. I got my VSG on 10/15, also. Yesterday it took me a full 24 hour but I got around 48 ounces in. That includes the terribly sweet clear protein drink diluted with water. I’m not really hungry tbh. And with every sip of water my stomach growls LOUDLY. Odd I’m looking forward to day 6 when I will be able to sip a protein shake because until then, protein is going to be a big challenge for me. Best wishes...
  6. Best wishes! You will do great!!
  7. Everyone looks soooo good!!!
  8. Hi all. I’m 2 days out and doing pretty well. My nerve block wore off so I’m quite sore getting up and down but that is doable. Now my questions With each sip my stomach sound like an alien is in there...normal? What is the minimum amount of liquids that must be consumed to avoid dehydration? Thanks
  9. Thanks for the kind words. I am going to head over to post op as I have a few questions for the experts.
  10. You will rock it! They did some kind of pain block while in surgery. That lasts a few days I hear. So that made walking around the hospital easier for me, I bet. Since I was walking they were able to remove those pressure socks that inflate to prevent blood clots. That was a plus. Best of luck on the 21st!
  11. Hi all! I made it with flying colors. I stayed the one night and now I am home. It was easier than I expected. I’m sore but not that bad. Gas pains were minor but I did walk an awful lot so maybe that helped. Best wishes to all!
  12. On my way to the hospital... the prep was pretty awful. Lol See ya all on the thin side...
  13. Got the call earlier that I have to be there at 530 AM. Hospital is one hour away so 430 AM we leave. I guess I will be setting my alarm for 339 AM?! Dear Lord! I was hoping to go early but not THAT early! Yikes
  14. Lol on the poop backlog! Thanks all!
  15. Well, it is here. I must say 3 months went quickly. I’m drinking clear liquids only today and then at 6pm I have to do the dreaded prep. I guess the bathroom will be where I spend most of the night... I don’t know why I need to clear out my colon for VSG but I will comply...
  16. Best of luck! Keep us updated.
  17. VSG surgery in two days. Can’t believe it is almost here. Getting a mani and pedi for the occasion right now. Lol I think I posted this before but I am 55.
  18. Best wishes and welcome to the October Club. ?
  19. Hi all 55F, NJ and sleeve on 10/15! Started pre op diet today. Can not wait!
  20. They never knew why I had issues with the band. I had zero fill and still got stuck all the time. I used to say that the healthy things I wanted to eat would make me puke. Slippery, fattening foods did not. Salads were impossible. Protein that wasn’t “wet” was a nightmare. From the constant barfing they said I had esophagitis and gerd. Yet I didn’t have heartburn or anything of the sort. I will probably go super slowly with regular foods, also. Maybe go back to basics and reset your sleeve? Idk
  21. No help but I have to say this concerns me as I am scheduled for VSG in two weeks and it is one of my worries. What you are describing is what my life was like for 5 years with the lap band. I will be watching this thread to see what advice you get. I hope you get answers and relief soon!
  22. I’m going to email the nurse to confirm this but at the hospital during PAT I was told 2x not to bring CPAP because of the “type of surgery I was having with the air being blown in...” Seemed odd to me based upon what I have read so far. I’m only moderate with sleep apnea so I’m not really worried about not using it for a night. I am in a private room so at least the snoring I will surely have shouldn’t irritate anyone.
  23. Hi all. I’m 55 and will be getting VSG on 10/15/19. I start pre op diet on Tuesday.
