What I did as I was loosing was to buy just a few things to get me through. Or go to thrift stores for better deals. Otherwise I would be left with a lot of clothing that was too big. Good Luck!

I got word yesterday that my surgery date will be September 16th. It seems like a long time, but it will give me time to prepare. What did everyone do to help pass the time before surgery? I worry that they are not having me meet with a nutritionist even and I really want to get this right!

Oh wow! We are even about the same height I am having mine at Cox with Dr Simpson. It sure is a small world!

I got one at an engraving place in the middle of the mall. They had all kinds of jewelry and they engraved my medical emergency info on it.

I currently wear a pain patch, and hoping I can get off my blood pressure meds soon after surgery. I take other meds for sleep and such, but when I am more active and fit maybe I can lose those too!

Mike, You are doing fantastic, really! I felt the same way after my first surgery, and now when I look at pictures from then I can see how thin I had gotten. I also always gravitated towards the larger clothes section because I guess I wasn't convinced that I was losing weight! Keep up the good work!

GradyCat, you just made my day. I am 54 also and was worrying that I was to old for this!

They say I am going to skip the Psych stuff, and the usual longer diet since my BMI is 36. I will have to meet with a nutritionist and do a 3 day diet before surgery. The gal I talked to said she would talk to the DR. on Wednesday and then get back with me to schedule my surgery. Whoot!

We have met our deductibles for the year as well. I wasn't planning on getting surgery but when they told me I could fix my issues with a revision I am all for it. The waiting is impossible! Good luck to you!!

I live 30 miles east of Springfield and am seeing Dr Matt Simpson through Cox. Mine will be a revision of a VBG to a bypass. Good luck!
