  1. You drank Beer? Very Cool. How was it, maybe I should try some, too. Hey, how's it goin down east, anyway?
  2. Hey Yoda, no, I have not had a fill, my appmt is this friday coming. I've just gone from eating everything, to everything getting golfballed....go figure. I'm just getting frustrated, and I hate being so negative all the time. But I know you know frustration......fricken fills:) lol.
  3. A few days ago I could have shoved a 12" sub (mmmm sub:hungry: ) down my throat without chewing, no problem. This week, golfballs. I can't seem to eat without the golfball feeling. I think golfballs are from not chewing right. Is that right? Now I have this fill coming up on Friday, maybe I don't need. My confidence and focus are all over the place lately. I was trying to tell my husband just this morning, I feel like the honeymoon phase is over, and I woke up in a place I am totally not familar with. I'm not sure what I'm doing. I just want to EAT!! Im going to keep my fill appmt, even just to go see them and talk. Obviously I need a fill, right? If I could eat tons a few days ago, then I have little restriction, right? I think now Im maybe just upset and not chewing right, right? But if I get a fill and I already have the golfball thing, how will I be after? I thought I educated myself about this stuff prior, but apparrently I don't know. What's up with me?:phanvan
  4. AAAAHHHHH!!!! I'm over 5 weeks post-op. I can pretty much eat anything, and anything it is!!!! I have very little restriction and find myself eating drive-thru food and generally eating way more than I should. Alas, this week have gained back about 3 pounds, no duh. I have my first fill scheduled for this friday. But I find myself feeling angry, anxious and generally concerned. I know I need it to stop this madness, but I'm afraid I'm gonna hurt myself or my band by this stupidity!! On top of that, if my blood pressure dosen't go down by the end of July, my MD is putting me on pills. I need a kick square in the @ss!! Happy Canada Day and 4th of July to all!!
  5. Happy Canada Day
  6. Yoda, you oughta get some (poor u), and If it were me, I'd have to put it all over my tongue too, cause what I would be saying to that nurse after 2HOURSof pricking me wouldn't be very nice!!:grouphug: :zip:
  7. 2 HOURS!! OMG, you are patient. I'm soo sorry you had to go through that. That is extremely frustrating, especially that you drove all that way for not. I booked my first fill appointment this morning, will go next friday at 4;30, yes thats friday at 4:30. Betcha theres gonna be a little traffic then eh, since I have to travel all up hwy 400 north! I sure hope you get it next time, it's hard to be patient. I always feel like everyone is watching to see if your losing weight, and this fill thing can slow down the process! Good Luck Yoda! Can't wait to see Superman!!
  8. Talk about no restriction!! OINK OINK , I just ate 2 plates of stirfry!!!!:omg: It was sooooo good, had every vegetable under the sun in it, so it was good for me, but 2 Plates? I'm calling Marie tommorrow. I WANNA FILL!!:help:
  9. Well I will try, but they don't get anymore computer-stupid than me!!
  10. my doc says he has had a few that had enough restriction without fills, but I think they are few and far between.
  11. hey mandi, Do you mean Dr. Cobourn does free fills? If he does, I sure didn't know that, but I didn't ask either. Where's this other group on yahoo your talking about, I never heard of it?
  12. Welcome Neenagh!! I was banded by Dr. Cobourn. I was very satisfied, I found him caring, understanding and compassionate. I felt totally safe going into surgery with him. Others have used other Docters and were satisfied too. Good Luck!!
  13. Way to Go Mandi !!
  14. When did everyone get there first fill? I am 1 month out, and thinking I maybe should get one soon.
  15. Good Luck Yoda!! Do you watch them when they put the needle in?
  16. I wouldn't worry too much. My doc prescribed me liquid codiene, I filled it but never used it, not even a tylenol. You should be fine.
  17. YEAHHHHHHH SUNSHINE!!!!!! She's back in the saddle!! I am pretty sure that if you keep in contact with the office, that they won't cancel. I don't think that they can fill the spot because know one else will be ready with the pre-op diet. I can't see them turning away $15,000.00. In the meantime if they had just cashed the damn cheque they'd have the money:confused: . Anyway I'm glad to hear your doing better, stick with it, it's gonna work out I promise. I cannot believe the time your having with Dr. Cobourns office. I had nothing but good vibes there, but I tell ya when I'm there next, I'm going to tell him. That's not good for his business, he may not even know patients are being treated like that, it's appalling!! He's soooo awesome, I woulnd'nt trade him for anything, just step over top of her. She needs to be told!! Have a great day Sunshine... when is your surgery date, I forgot?
  18. Hi Sunshine. First of all "Big Hugs". I am so sorry that you are going through this. I don't even remember a Kathy at Dr. Cobourn's office. But for sure you should ask to speak with someone else and ask for that person from now on. They will not cancel your surgery right away, they will wait I'm sure until you can get the money to them, but why don't they just cash the cheque? Then they would have it, I don't get it? Anyway on day 2 and 3 I had severe headaches, I honestly took as much advil I could and stayed in bed for 2 days. It will go away!!!! If not ask if you can do something else, but don't even talk to this Kathy, ask for Marie. Above all "It will all be worth it" before you know it, you will be post op and all will be forgotten! Honest, hang in there, and keep us informed, it helps to talk it out, and vent.
  19. I also like to eat good food and enjoy my treadmill workouts, my problem seems to be ME. I am working on ME, but I tend to be hard on myself when I miss 1 workout or eat more than I thought I should. I need to lightnen up on me, give myself a buffer zone. Its nice to no that no-one is doing this perfect. But apparently in my strange mind I must think I should. "but alas this is my journey":)
  20. Hey Betty, how are you doing, anyway. It's been a good week now, you must be runn'n marathons, no?
  21. I just realized how nasty this post makes me sound. I'm not a negative person, and I know there are thousands upon thousands of wonderful Docters out there. My apolgies to THOSE Docters!
  22. I'm with you Wheetsin, Except I'm still in baggy 28's!!
  23. Okay, I need to share a storey. I am so sick of close-minded doctors!! I don't live in "Boonville" or somewhere, but I do live in a way smaller area compared to a big city. An acquantince of mine who has been banded for a while (found lap band herself, not by doc) who has lost over 100 lbs, has recently taken ill. They say she has some kind of abcest or something. Every doctor is telling her that it is the bands fault, then the surgeon comes to her and says that he won't even look at her until she removes the band!!! :frusty: WTF~!! Finally her band surgeon arranged to have her admitted in his city to look after her, he does not think its the band, but will look after her. I'm telling ya, if I have any problems, I'm driving straight to Toronto!!! Why arnt these Doctors getting the message about Lap Band, it's been around for 15 years!!! Holy Crap!!
  24. Dr. C...God Bless You!! Thank you for taking time to answer everyones questions and concerns. I wish there were more doc's in the world like you!!!!
