Hi Mandi. Thanks so much for your reply. I'm so glad to hear that your doing great, don't worry about that pound, just think what you might have gained before the band. Much to my surprise, the closer I get to my surgery the less I am nervous. There has been so many great comments coming back in the "May 2006" thread, it's hard to get nervous. You have also been a great help to me and I thank you for sharing your experience. Talk at you soon:) .

CanadianSunshine - I also went nuts eating. I ate everything I could see and then some. Then one of the pro-bansters (I forget right now who that was) told me about how important it is to get your liver in shape prior to surgery, and alot of complications can occur becasue of it. It took me a little while but I got it together and never looked back. Having said that I am an all-or-nothing person. I'm hoping the band will help me with that. Good Luck! Mandi - Hows it going! I havent posted a reply in this thread for a while. But everyone seems to be having great success. 4 more days till I'm banded, getting really, really excited! I've been doing straight Opti-fast for 17 days, AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I just keep concentrating on the four more days part. Keep up the good work everyone. Wish me luck on Friday. Okay, day 16 of 21, and Opti-fast is getting really old. My liver had better be perfect! It ought to stand up and shake Dr. Cobourns hand the morning of surgery, after all this Opti-fast thing :nervous . Only 5 days to go! :cake: :party: :cake: :confused: :party: :party: :cake: :party: :cake: . I have a question for those of you who have already been banded by Dr. Cobourn. I've been reading alot about cathiters(SPELLING?) during surgery, and swallowing barium after surgery. Does Dr. Cobourn require this? He never mentioned that during my appointment.

Everybody is coming back from surgery with such rave reviews. How could I be nervous anymore, I just can hardly wait until Friday and finally get my band:dance: . I'm sooooo excited!!!!!!

outdoorgirl - I only told about 4 people. The ones I thought should know and wouldnt say anything bad to me or anyone else. As for all the other people I know, I figure I'll tell them after. Good for you, Kim. I havent done much socializing at all the past week or so, I'm really avoiding it if I can, for now anyway. My surgery is scheduled for 7:15 am and it takes me about 2 hours to drive there. I figure I have to get up around 4:30, I'm kinda hoping I will be sleepy most of the day, and can sleep most of it away. Dr. Cobourn figures I will be home around noon:) . Okay, I'm one of those people who NEVER ask for help. (I know it's suppose to be okay). But if I have ever needed energy sent my way, it's tonite!! I'm ending day 11 of 21 days of Opti-fast. I havent cheated, not even a little bit, which I'm very proud of, but I'm kinda losin it now. I've never been a big sweet eater (but I'd take ya down for a big mac, or slice of pizza.. lol) so these chocolate and vanilla shakes are getting sooooo horrible. I have only 10 days to go till surgery, then I'll say bring on the chicken Broth!!:hungry: It just feels like that seems so far away and the thought of drinking opti-fast for 10 more days....... I'm so sorry for _itching and complaining but I'm going insane. Any encouragement and of you guys can spare would greatly be apprecciated. Oh and to top it all off my 17 year old daughter is driving us crazy. A few weeks ago I would have gotten mad at her and ate 4 lbs of chicken wings, now I have to find something else to do:angry .

Congratulations to you and your husband, Loriely. I know someone who was banded by Dr. Joffe and she said he did a great job! Do you know what differences there is between Dr. Joffes and Dr. Cobourns pre-op diet is? I'm just curious, I'm in the middle of my pre-op diet now for Dr. Cobourn. Keep in touch:)

anewlife - I'm sorry I was just going over some replys and realized you had replied to me. I also am not a big chocolate fan (more of a pizza girl myself), so I got the vanilla opti-fast. I did not know I could add a little strawberry to it, thats a good idea. I'm on day 6 of 21, and I could use a little variety. Only 1 more week for you, Yaaaa:clap2: . Let us know how it goes. Please, Please, Please enjoy that porkchop! I'm shaking just typing it..lol. My dr. has prescribed 3 weeks just liquid opti-fast. I'm on day 4 of 21. I would cut off my limbs for your pork chop!!!!
