  1. Hey Irishmist, what time was your surgery?
  2. Hey Teasie, if your from Louisina then you probably have one of those wonderful southern accents! My family drove to New Orleans last year and we loved it when we got further south and could get the southern radio stations. Love the accent!! All your new Canadian neighbours will love your accent too, I'm sure. P.S.......your gonna need a coat!!
  3. Good morning, feeling better today, Thank you to everyone for all the support and advice, it really helps. I decided that, yes, it was a good idea to call Dr. Cobourn. I wrote a e-mail around 8:00 last night and a few minutes later Marie called me back, incredible. She was wonderful, she assured me I hadnt done any damage to the band, but yes going back on liquids for a few days was a good idea. This is all such a learning experience. Anyone who tells you that we have had surgery because we are too weak, is full of crap! This is the hardest thing I have ever done!
  4. Hey, I misplaced you guys. But I finally found ya'll!! I have been excellent since the surgery, feeling great, pain free, incisions looking good. Glad to hear everyone else is going great!!!..............Now, the bad news..I had the worst day, today! I typed my horrible day under "In Pain" in the Canadian section if you want to read the long version. To make a long story short. I PB'd today 4 times, the last 2 with blood! I was sooo scared. I hope never to do that again. Back on clear soup for a few days. Tummy just a little tender now...LIVE AND LEARN!! Really glad I found you guys again.
  5. Hi guys, only my ego hurts now. I'm so _issed at myself!! . The pain finally went away about 15 minutes after last PB. Man, does that hurt!!:think . I had to call in sick to work 1/2 hour before I was to go, felt like an idiot!! All because I don't know how to chew and slow down. It really scared me bad, I don't want that to happen ever again. I just hope I can form these new habits. I was such a binger before, I'm sure my throat is 4 inches wide(lol), I'm not sure if I ever chewed my food before I swallowed. I had just left it too long before my lunch, so I was really hungry. Anyway I'm going back on liquids...FOREVER..LOL (for a few days). I just hope I didn't do any real damage, I equate this with the beginnings of erosion. AAAAAAHHHHHH I'm soooo mad at myself:frusty: . Thank you so much Photonut for your help, I was actually PBing inbetween talking to you, you helped calm me down:hug: . Well, I'm no longer a virgin(PBer).:phanvan
  6. This is going to sound gross, I'm sorry. I just slimed my tuna lunch, 3 times. But the last time it looked like there was blood in with it. I'm freaking out, I'm such an idiot...please:help: .
  7. :help: I am 14 days post-op and was given the go ahead to start soft foods a few days ago. So last night I had a salmon fillet and today I had tuna. Both times after a few minutes I got alot of pain I guess where my band is. I figure I'm either eating to quickly or not chewing enough. Have I hurt my band? Whats gonna happen when I advance to steak and stuff, why would I think I wouldnt get the pain then?
  8. Hey Mandi, you sound so talented. You must miss your boyfriend alot. And I also agree, the weight never comes off fast enough!! Okay, did anyone make it to chat last night. I can't believe it, my daughter tells me she has a baseball game at like 6:45....coulda killed her!! :yell: Let me know if we should keep that time or if there is a better time for everyone.
  9. hi there, I suggest when you get to the hotel go a grocery store and buy a case of water. then you always have some handy. I also like having a box of mints nearby, that made me feel good when I wasn't into eating. of course don't forget a camera!
  10. mmmmmmmmmmm poutine..:hungry: .
  11. hi sunshine, I called marie about the same thing. She said only 3, that they used to do 4 but that it was too much(ya right)lol.
  12. Sunshine, sounds like a wonderful life. Great name!! You'll love Dr. Cobourn, and you'll probably like Toronto too. I know I like to go to Toronto for a day or two, but I sure love to get home afterward. I guess I've become a bit of a country bumpkin in the last few years.
  13. That sounds really painful Yoda:hug: . My docter says he wont give me my first fill until I go 3 weeks without losing. I dont want to go 3 weeks without losing, oh well. Having my first somewhat normal meal today....mashed carrots(yum) and mashed BBQ chicken(?who'd a thunk it). Did anyone take a long time to master the new habit of chewing things to death. I'm having a hard time. I'm starting to wonder if I ever chewed anything at all. It kinda just goes down my throat before I know it. Then I panick thinking I'm gonna throw up.
  14. Okay, I'm going to through-out a day and time, and see what the feedback is.......WEDNESDAYS at 7:30 pm....I have no idea what time that is anywhere else in Canada. This would be Ontario time. Please reply. Either different days or bump the time back or forward.
  15. :frusty: That is NOT FAIR!!
  16. .......lol.......
  17. :canada: I was thinking....there is a chat room on this website. There is never anyone there when I visit. I thought it would be neat if us Canadians could somehow set a time once a week to log into chat. Maybe the same hour every week. It would be fun to do live chat with all you guys, EH? I realize that some of us are in different time zones, and work different shifts, etc...any ideas on how we could organize this would be great. If there is an interest that is. What ya think?:canada:
  18. :cheer2: Yahhh Jude!! Sounds like your doing great!! Don't worry you'll be back to normal very shortly. I was amazed how quickly I felt like myself again. So great to have you back!!:girl_hug:
  19. Works for me. Thanks for your help guys!!
  20. :welcomeB: Hello and welcome. I had Dr. Cobourn and I had to do 3 weeks opti-fast, because I had so much weight to lose. It was very difficult, but well worth it. Try to find a spot you can go and hibernate in the house to get away from the temptation(that helped for me). Focus on the last day, that helps. When you get to the last day you will be sooooooo proud of yourself, it's a great way to start with your band, not to mention the enourmous benefit you'll make for your surgery!! Also you can always come online and lean on us, I certainly did that. That is what everyone is here for, each other. I also did not get sick or nauseated, but let them know your concern the morning of surgery and they'll take care of it. Keep gravaul(?) with you all the time to be on the safe side.
  21. Sounds wonderful. Anyone else bugged this year by bugs. I would love to get outside, but I can't even get to my vechicle without at least 30 mosquiitos all over me. I have never seen it this bad, it sucks!
  22. That is Stupid! If any of us could lose the weight without the band, we would have. I just don't understand. My heart goes out to you.
  23. I dont think you can get isopure in canada, or at least so the stores I've been to say. There is a powerbar choc shake I got at zehrs that has 32 grams, but the only problem is that it has 380 calories. I figure that I'm not getting very many calories elsewhere right now, and I want to make sure I get protein, so for now I drink about 1/2 a bottle a day. Let me no if you find anything better.
  24. I'm 1/2 way through a 2 week liquid stage. I've done soup broth(mostly chicken), jello, freezies, juice, coffee. Anyone else have some liquid ideas, I'm kinda getting bored. I'll never admit this elsewhere:speechles , but it may have been easier on opti-fast(you didn't have to think, just drink). I need to get through one more week, don't wanna blow it (:puke:literally). Thank-you:)
  25. Sorry, I got Tommy and Woody mixed up.
