  1. I was watching TV last night and for the first time saw a commercial for Lap-Band. Has anyone else in Canada seen one? About Fricken Time, eh?:canada:
  2. I absolutely love her too!!:music:
  3. Good morning Kim. Yes small portions forever, but hunger no more. It's easy to only eat a small amount when your already full. Yes, you can fly and go on vacations, but one problem - you can't wear a seatbelt extender on the plane, and you have to buy a smaller bathing suit, sorry. . About the complications, I read that thread over before my surgery too. I wanted to make an informed decision. It's good stuff to know, but don't keep going there or you'll freak yourself out. Remember that any complication at all, and we come here for support. Not everyone posts all the good stuff. Also, complications are minimal, and most of us will never experience most complications. Just little things we can get over or none at all. Hope that helps. Talk to you later!!
  4. Hi Kat, I guess what why was trying to say, as to your post as well, is that parents now-a-days have so much to do, and now we have to entertain our kids too? I know I'm walking on thin ice here, and not to offend anyone, really, every parent does what they think is best, and thank god we have parents who give a ----. But, now-a-days it just seems that kids are entertained from the moment there born, electronic mobiles, rattles etc...It is sad that kids can't SAFELY go outside and play now alone. Somehow we have to take back our neighbourhoods, put pedophiles in jail FOREVER, and allow our children to use there free spirit and imaginations again...................................WHEW, that was way to heavy for a Saturday. Anyway, thank-you to ALL parents who take the time to love there children so our world can be a better place.
  5. Ha Ha poor guy. I have one of those "eat chocolate, drink beer, mowe down half a cow, seconds on dessert, skinny, never gained an ounce in his life" rotten @astards. Good thing I love him so much or I'd havta kill him!!
  6. lol...you know me mandi, my computer skills are minimal, so I wouldn't even go look for it. I'm sure theres an easy way, but I don't know it. By the way, my husband is a fast eater too. It worked well before I was banded, but not now. It takes me so long to eat a plate of food, he ends up just watching me eat..lol. So now he's working on slowing down too.....it's all good!!
  7. Good morning kim, and welcome. Did you post this message somewhere else? Cause unless I'm losing it(which could be true) I responded to it. I think it must have been under another thread, but I'm not sure. But welcome!!! Look forward to hearing from you. Congratulations!!
  8. I know what you mean. I'm not a huge cereal eater, but every now and then.....mmmmmmmm:hungry: ...better then se (oops, better not make every thread obscene)
  9. Hi Kim Welcome, and you should be very excited!! And you should have tons of questions!! LOL We all had lots of questions. You won't know the size of your band until after surgery, even your surgeon wont know until he see's during surgery. Don't worry about cc's until after, it's just the amount of Fluid they will fill your band with. some people don't even need one(very few). You won't stand out while your eating in the future, the only thing people will notice is that your taking your time, and that is healthy. We were all scared and excited about surgery, that is normal. We are all here to support each other, lean on us when you need. Congratulations!! August 10th isn't too far away!! Please keep us posted!!!
  10. Way to go Jude!! Your gonna do great!!
  11. Hi Buffie, I think you'll find that after your fill you'll be okay. I was eating like crazy too before my fill. I actually gained about 6 pounds, but it fell off quick after the fill. Good Luck!!

:update: I made it, I made it!!! :Banane10:  298.4:eek: :Banane10: Thanks to everyone for your encouragement!!!!!!
  14. It's hard to stick to any good routine while you life is up in the air. You've been under stress for a while with the move and all. Once you get settled in you'll be able to buckle down and take control again. If I had an excuse to eat at Mc & BK I would too.
  15. :clap2: Come on Jude, you can do it!:clap2:  Hang in there! Don't give up! :banana :cheer2: :huggie:Were behind you!

Jude - it's so good to hear from you, I'm sorry it's not working out the way you would like. Hang in there!!! Really it can only get better, right? Listen to Marie and Dr. Cobourn and it will happen. The band isn't gonna fall out, if this fill dosent work, you'll get another, and so on...were all here to cheer you on.:cheer2: Hey "Just Paul" - You keep following me with that 12" Italian Sub, how's a girl to get under 300 that way!!........just kidding, really.... Thanks for the encouragement. Thanks to Buffie, NJChick, Leila, Mandi and all others...anyday now I hope.
  17. I may be coming completely out of left field, and your all gonna probably hate me after my comment. I also have 3 kids, now they are 17, 15, 13. I also live in the country and I realize that makes a difference, but I really think that we over entertain our children. Our parents never spent the amount of time we feel obligated too. I don't ignore my kids, but I always told them thats why I gave them siblings...someone to play with. Anyway, sounds like you've done alot of great things so far :clap2: I applaude you, maybe you should sit back and enjoy your summer with a magazine and a beer. As I'm typing this I do remember that when they were smaller they are more needy of our time, but cut yourself some slack, you sound like a great mother!!!!! Okay, I'm covering my head if you want to throw bricks at me:faint2:

DAMN RIGHT!!! Its been 5 years since I've been under 300. The only problem is if I weigh 299.9, than I can only celebrate with less than .1 in weight of beer or I'll be over again...LOL:p

    WOW, I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Close...300.4 - 300.8:nervous
  21. I agree, I think the pictures are a good idea. I could get very upset right now cause even though I've lost 46 pounds, only a couple of people have said anything. I'm still wearing the same old clothes, even though they are getting loose, and I've kinda been spinning my wheels for a few weeks. That's when I go the the pictures and see what I looked like a month before surgery. That's all I need.
  22. morning mandi, I know I'm one to talk, about patience that is. But honestly, all of a sudden it'll be next summer and WOW, your gonna feel a whole lot different. I really feel it also has alot to do with age and maturity too. I'm not saying your immature, but I felt just like you for soooooo long then I just came to the time in my life where I just didn't give a $hit about what others think. Having said that, I still want to look my best, and it feels a whole lot better every few pounds gone. When I look back now I just wish someone had of said to me... "just relax, your great just the way you are now". I still tell myself that every day about everyday stuff. If we did'nt want to get to the next stage, we would be dead, it's human nature. It's just the way we talk to ourselves on the way.... Enjoy your comfy jeans! I hope I did'nt miss your point...I was interupped about a dozen times trying to read your post:)
  23. This is what my surgeon says....You should eat if your hungry, but do not stuff yourself. The band should take care of quantity, you look after quality. That some people eat 1/2 cup portions, some don't. You should lose about 1-3 pound on average per week, if you don't you may need a fill. Hope that helps.
  24. Mandi your so smart. Yes, it's that perfectionist, game-playing, even-numbered, head-game, every-has-to-be-just-so, virgo-ism in me. If I just end up at 150, then it would only be 197 pounds lost, 200 is PERFECT:wacko: . Yes you SHOULD pray for me on Sunday:) ..lol.
  25. I know alot of people don't agree with this but, my girlfriend is a total goodwill and garage sale freak. Her house is beautiful and is full of this stuff, and she could buy it new if she wanted. Just a thought.
