Not an OOTD per se, but so grateful with the weight off I can wear heels again. Rocked these tonight on a date with skinny jeans and a body suit.

Yes. While not ideal 4 days isn’t going to make a big difference in the grand scheme of things. Enjoy your trip!

I am in the midst of a cross-country move so missed posting about my two year anniversary a couple days ago. I had a VSG in Seattle on 8/12/2019. My starting weight was 286, today I’m 140. Although I lost my excess weight, I gained so much in the process. I am happy, healthy, and active. My only regret is not doing this sooner. I’m off all medication and no longer have sleep apnea. My blood pressure and resting heart rate are that of an athlete. I’ve never felt better in my adult life. I had plastic surgery in January to remove the excess skin and I’m so glad that I did that as part of this process. I still weigh myself daily and track all of my intake. I have a little more wiggle room now for a treat now & then, but in general eat a pretty healthy diet making sure to get in my Protein and fluids every day.

I also had major plastic surgery post weight loss:a Tummy Tuck with muscle repair & Lipo to my flanks, a breast lift & augmentation, and an arm lift. I took three weeks off work and felt well enough to go back at that point. My PS was Jan of 2021. My breast scars are invisible, the TT scar has lightened up significantly. The arm lift scars are still pretty pink, but I’m ok with that. I’m so glad I took that next step.

Im gonna go out on a limb here and respectfully disagree. In my lowly opinion, WLS is NOT the cure to mental health problems (in fact, i’d go so far to say it’s probably better to get a handle - or have a plan in place - to deal with one’s mental issues before starting the road to WLS. WLS is a tool for weight loss, nothing more…

My husband and I separated a couple months ago and are just waiting on court availability to finalize our divorce. I’ve just started dipping my toe in the dating world. It’s fun on some levels. However, I can’t help but feel a little (probably misplaced) resentment. Suddenly I’m a bit of a hot commodity. While on dating websites before my marriage, when I was 140 lbs heavier, I had few show interest. Now I’m overwhelmed with messages. It kind of messes with my brain to go from someone seen as undesirable to someone desirable. I’m still the same person, just in different packaging I guess. It’s frustrating to realize how much my value as a person was minimized due to my weight 😡

Like most surgeries, my first three days were rough. I did make myself start walking right away. First day wasn’t much, maybe a block or so. I slowly increased every day. I’ve always felt gentle exercise helps me with pain control, plus it’s good for prevention of post op complications like blood clots and pneumonia. By week three I was back to work full time as a nurse.

I went to Dr. Alex Earle in Miami. He didn’t touch my legs, but the Tummy Tuck gave them a bit of a lift too. Down by my knees, not so much. A thigh lift will happen at some point but i just bought a home and am taking two big vacations this year so it’s been deferred.

I’ll chime in too. Plastics took care of this for me as well. I had a big hanging apron of skin pre plastics. Now it’s gone.

More Soup for me. Today I challenged myself to find everything to make a pot at the Portland State University farmer’s market. The only things I added from my pantry were chicken stock and salt & pepper. I found at the market: Rainbow chard, butternut squash, wild mushrooms, shallots, garlic, rainbow carrots, thyme, rosemary, and organic free range chicken thighs. This will make a week’s work of lunches.

You could try freezing some of the leftovers. I do that often, then I can rotate through meals so I don’t get bored with them.
