I was wondering for any of you who have gotten surgery far away from home where yall scare something happened to you example.(complications days or weeks after surgery, blood clots or any sort of things that you didnt expect to happen after surgery. I'm scared that after I get surgery weeks later something happens that i cant travel right back to my surgeon since we are so far away from the u.s to Mexico

I know this is part of the process but at how many weeks where you actually able to enjoy your small meal. Idk if I eat too fast or what's the problem. But it's hard for me to actually eat my food. I'm 5 weeks out and I can feel sick eating a piece of chicken. I'm so stressed

I had finished my period a week prior to surgery and when I woke up from surgery I had it again. Then the following month I was late and it lasted longer and once again came back after a week. I think it was similar the third month as well. The last three months have back to business as usual with 28 day cycles.

OMG. Yes!! Prior I had a typical 5 day period every 28 days. The first one was a week after surgery (early) but not a big deal. Month 2 I thought I would need a blood transfusion. Now it's not regular but every 3-6 weeks, heavier than normal but seems to be getting better. I am only 6 months out so I think your body stabilizes once the rapid weight loss slows.

Mine most definitely did. I use to be fairly regular (every 28 days) with heavy flows for 5 days before RNY on 9-5-2018. Now, I am very irregular with light flows and having hot flashes occasionally. Since I am 49, I have a feeling I am heading straight into menopause...yay me!

laura071693 reacted to BlueAngelEyes in Peanut butter?
I ate Peanut Butter almost 4 weeks post op. Still eat it and love it! The fat or calories dont bother me. I only have a TBS on a spoon when i do and take 10mins to lick it off. Its helped me the most actually with this process. It got me through the day and gave me energy. Everything you eat has to be eatten in moderation no food is going to be off limits for the rest of your life with wls.
I believe people just say no because once you have a lick they think you wont be able to stop. I need to feel sane and normal im not going to eat like a Protein drinking nut that only eats veggies and healthy meat. Cant do it. Thats not my reality. Every body is different some could use more healthy fats than others. Every morning i have that TBS of creamy skippy and it works for me.
My docter said no to everything his reasoning was cuz once you taste something you crave it and once you have say 4 wheat thins 6months down the road you are eatting the whole box.. thats not me so i do me now so to speak and eveytime i go in to see him he says whatever im doing is working for me and keep it up. So best of luck on your weight loss journey.

I'm 5 days post OP, how long before you are able to consume anything spicy, even if it's just for taste. I have high tolerance for spicy food. I was just wondering

I'm day 4 and doing pretty well. My belly is still sore, but I have a lot of high waisted lite compression underwear so I am wearing that and it seems to help with the belly movement that normally makes walking sore. I am getting my protein/ liquid goal. I am hungry though!!! The hunger feeling of an empty burning stomach that's saying FEED ME. I thought I'd be a lucky one and have the no hunger stage. I want solid food so bad, but I know I can't eat anything so I won't. My doctor said I can do purees next week and a few days before I see him he wants me to try something like tuna and see how I tolerate it. I can drink and swallow more then a sip and I can finish my whole Protein Drink in probably 10mins if I wanted. But I only drink half and then 30mins later drink another half. I'm sitting here wondering if they even did the operation lol. I'm going slow and steady though I don't want to overwhelm my stomach.
