    "Real life eating". Liking this.
The video is also a good one. Dr. Weiner's videos are usually always worth a few minutes of your time. "Your body is far more smarter than your doctor" - liking that as well.

Tomorrow i will be one week post op

Physically this has been much easier than I expected. Practically no pain from my breast augmentation. The sharp LBL pain passed in a few days.

But in someways it has been much harder than expected. I ache and I am sore. My tailbone aches from sitting. My lower back aches no matter if I sit, lay down, stand or walk. I have a near constant headache. I’m not sleeping well because I can’t get comfortable. Tylenol does nothing for me.

Mentally it’s hard to concentrate. Everything is mildly irritating. In everyday life I would have no problem surfing the internet all day or bingeing Netflix. But now it’s all just uninteresting. I had planned to get really caught up on work stuff with all this down time, but I’m just not mentally there.

The way I feel is surprising to me. I’m not very susceptible to dark moods. I’m generally very even keeled emotionally. But I just feel very blah 😕

Have the best possible weekend sequestered in the hotel room without jet setting BF. Glad you have embraced your five new fashion accessories... drainage tubes. Oh boy. What a trooper. Sweet and satisfying rewards await you, indeed. I am truly inspired by your courage and fortitude! And, very appreciative of the fact you are sharing the plastics process. Feeling some mixed emotions - my surgery is about five weeks away. She has her own surgery center at office, and if I am to understand correctly - I go home the same day. Comments here have advised otherwise. Pre-op Jan. 6th will be a time to address that. Hubby will take that first week off to navigate with me. I, too, was totally traumatized by a Rosemary's baby (that's the perfect term to describe that ordeal!!!!!!) and have hemorrhoids now. Some silly and cheerful reminders... that this too shall pass. AND, Santa definitely needs to deliver that well deserved sable fur; deed to the diamond mine; and new convertible, too. Keep well meow.

Checking in. Today is 5 days post op. Just spent my second night in the hotel after three nights in the care center. As @catwoman7 wrote that time in the care center was invaluable. I needed a minimum of two night there, and the third was just a precaution. I would not have been ready to move to a hotel or home straight after surgery.
Yesterday was a breakthrough day as far as pain goes. I have been off any pain meds for over 24 hrs. The pain is very mild, unless I move sharply or sneeze, cough, etc. I am also getting around much easier and significantly less hunched over. My boobs even look slightly less square and weird today. I slept in a regular bed last night, with just a pillow under my knees to prop me up. Best sleep I have gotten. I did take an Ambien, as opposed to my pain meds to sleep. In other breakthroughs, with the help of MOM, I had my first BM. I was nervous about that, as I had a traumatizing first BM after my VSG
My surgeon hasn't started me on the inject able blood thinners yet. My drains are a still too bloody. I'm not sad about that really, as I don't know if I can inject myself. (My mom definitely is not capable)
Randomeness, my LBL incision is very numb about 4-5 inches above and below it. My surgeon used Experal for numbing, but that should have worn off by now. I'm not sure if that is just an effect from surgery? It feel similar to being numbed from dental work. In good news, I still have nipple sensation! 😀(Peri aerola incision)
I'm not going to be posting many pics here, with this being a public forum. But if anyone want to see some, you can PM me
Thanks again for everyone's well wishes and support.

I'm leaving on a business trip tomorrow. It's one of the few occasions a year I wear a suit, because I'm speaking at the conference. All my suits are 16 or 14 and I've been wearing 14 or 12. I started trying them on and they are all hilariously large. I'm wearing the smallest jacket and a pair of slacks and going shopping when I get home!
My Hanukkah present was going to be shopping at Athleta. Now I think it will be at Talbots. LOL

I thought I wasn't losing any weight either because the scale is NOT MOVING!!!!! Well I went to the closet to figure out what I could wear to church and low and behold I was able to get these hips in a pair of size 10s. I couldn't believe it, and a new bra I recently bought size 38DD was too big to wear. I'm back in my 34DDs. Woohoo!!!!! I'm losing inches smh

Thank you so much for this! I needed to hear this success story. You rock! Trying to think positive thoughts like “ slower may be better long term”...” maybe people won’t think I am dying because I am not losing weight so fast😀”...”maybe my body will have time to adjust and help with my saggy skin”... searching for all the positives so I don’t go off track. The good news is that I cannot eat to soothe myself like in the past. It is such a strange transition to have to finally face this issue and not have an easy way out. That I am thankful for, every day. Thanks again and congrats to you on your success! I cannot wait to be 20 months out and look back on this post and laugh at myself.

yep. Started at 373. Lost 57 lbs through the insurance-required six-month supervised diet and two-week pre-surgery liquid diet. Weighed 316 the morning of surgery. At 2.5 months out (where you are), I weighed 282. So in the first 2.5 months post-op, I'd lost 34 lbs. I'd lost 100% of my excess weight by 20 months out. Still at a normal BMI.
You know what to do and what not to do. Do follow your surgeon's plan to a T. Do not compare yourself to others.

Good morning!! I’m very new here, I ran across the site yesterday and thought I’d go ahead and sign up!
I’m 29 years old and a mom of 2. I just got married March 29th this year but we’ve been together for 7 years!
I started my journey March 22nd, 2019. I went to my initial consult one week before my wedding day lol. I didn’t know if I really wanted to have surgery at that point but the thought had crossed my mind many times so I began the process. I waited until after our honeymoon and for the wedding excitement to calm a bit before starting monthly PCP visits.

At my consult in March I was 292lb but at my visit to my pcp in May I was 312lb...wtf lol. Happy weight maybe? It needed to go..since my 2nd PCP visit on 6/25/19 I’ve lost 30lb so I’m pretty happy with the work I’ve put in so far. My husband had no idea I weighed over 300lb but I’m “proportionate” so it’s hard to tell exactly, but I knew.

Anyway. I spent my 6 months researching and educating myself on this surgery, reading others stories, the good and the bad. I’m definitely having the surgery and I’m excited!

Today is actually my pre op visit with surgery set for December 16th!
I’m open to any advice, suggestions, or stories! I’m excited to y’all with you guys!

This may be controversial. I don't believe BMI charts are the best way to measure much. They are the same for women and men. Muscle weighs more than fat. They were originally intended to monitor populations, not individual people.
The scale isn't the best way to measure your progress/health. It's just the easiest way.
I would work with your psychiatrist, who hopefully has some experience with bariatric patients, and work on reducing your negative thoughts around your weight.
Good luck, I wish you the best.

There is a little saying I like - Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
Sometimes we get so caught up on an ideal on a number on a scale that it can compromise everything we set out to achieve.
The number on a scale is just a number on a scale, it doesn't depict our worth, no number should, however, there are some non scale goals that would serve us better and give our health so much more meaning. Particularly when people are unready in the health weight range for their height or are close to it and have a lot of excess skin.
Body fat percentage, doesn't matter what we weigh or what excess skin we have. Some people have more lean body mass (muscle) so could well be overweight by the scale but their body fat percentage is on point.
Perhaps you need to give yourself credit for what you have achieved so far, very close to the healthy weight for your height, your goal weight may or may not be achievable but it is at the low end of the BMI. Maybe a refocus on some other non scale goals for a while would take the pressure of yourself.
