  1. My surgery was also the same day. I also have the hungry feeling which is normal for some people. Your stomach growls and making noises is normal and good from what my surgeon told me it means your digestive system is working. I have a larger incision by my belly button and it is the only one that feels sore when I laugh or cough but that's normal. Keep staying hydrated! I got so tired of liquids I couldn't stand everything being so sweet all the time. My surgeon said I could switch to Purees this week which is tomorrow so I just started a day early because I wanted to barf just thinking about drinking sweet liquids aka protein shakes. For breakfast I had scrambled egg 3/4 of one egg and Dinner was ricotta bake only 2oz and handled them very well.
  2. I'm day 4 and doing pretty well. My belly is still sore, but I have a lot of high waisted lite compression underwear so I am wearing that and it seems to help with the belly movement that normally makes walking sore. I am getting my protein/ liquid goal. I am hungry though!!! The hunger feeling of an empty burning stomach that's saying FEED ME. I thought I'd be a lucky one and have the no hunger stage. I want solid food so bad, but I know I can't eat anything so I won't. My doctor said I can do purees next week and a few days before I see him he wants me to try something like Tuna and see how I tolerate it. I can drink and swallow more then a sip and I can finish my whole protein drink in probably 10mins if I wanted. But I only drink half and then 30mins later drink another half. I'm sitting here wondering if they even did the operation lol. I'm going slow and steady though I don't want to overwhelm my stomach.
  3. I also have mild sleep apnea and wasn't required to get one. The sleep study said I could either get a cpap machine or lose weight. Since the whole reason I got the sleep study so I could get the surgery I opted for the lose weight. My clinic was ok with that since it was mild and not moderate or severe sleep apnea if it was then I would of had to get the machine. I personally didn't want to deal with the machine so I was glad it wasn't a requirement. When I had my surgery and the whole time I was in the hospital they had the blood oxygen level on my finger and it stayed within range. One less thing I had to worry about.
  4. Hi yall! Its post op day 3 for me. My surgery went well with no complications and no additional fixes needed. I stayed in the hospital two days. The second day was mostly at my request since I live almost 2 hours away and couldn't drink much. I kept having the so full of water feeling like you'd burst since I got out of surgery. Seemed like a lot of the pain I felt was from gases stuck by my ribs. It was very painful and would come in waves. But they kept me comfortable with pain meds when I requested it. Last night out of no where my mouth started watering bad like before you throw up and before that it was so dry. It felt like whatever that watery episode was cleared my way of left over gases and I could finally drink more then an oz in 4hrs. I've gotten my oz's up today and drank one 11oz protein shake. Im slowly trying to build up. I'm not sure how much I'm suppose to drink in one sitting at the hospital it was no more then 5oz in an hr. Now that I'm home is it the same or am I allowed more... I forgot to ask the doc. I just dont wanna hurt myself or overfill my stomach. Anywho hope everyone else is doing well!
  5. I just got changed into my gown and sitting in the bed waiting for IV to come. I wasn't too nervous until now. I'm a little more nervous trying to keep my cool! See y'all on the other side!
  6. My advice is when you get hungry or start craving something drink a protein shake. It fills you up and your thought of food will pass because you won't be hungry. If it doesn't try some pudding or jello. Good Luck!
  7. Woo!!!! It's our week yall!!!!! Good Luck to everyone today!!! I'll be joining yall tomorrow!!
  8. I have one day to go before surgery and I was wondering this too!!! lol Thank for asking!!

My protein for after surgery came in! Fingers are crossed that these are still my favorite ones after surgery. I've tried Walmart brand, Muscle Milk, Organic, and yuck yuck yuck! I really like these two. I havent tried the Isopure yet, but I remember seeing someone reccomend it. Are there any other brands of protein yall like that I should give a try? Also, did yall who've recently had surgery do fine with the thickness of protein shakes after you got home from surgery?
  10. I was the same way. Just gaining with no change to diet and I wasn't eating terribly. I just didn't understand why I was gaining until my endocrinologist told me it was the PCOS. That's why I am going the bariatric route too. Mostly because of the other symptoms other then the weight gain. Facial hair drives me nuts! I just want that to go away!

  12. I NEEED to find this all reds box you speak of! Last time in the normal box there were only two cherries I was so disappointed! lol
  13. Yesterday I had a free for all since we went to the lake and made a lot of good food. I already planned to eat since it was gonna be my last day to eat anything. I didn't drink any soda or carbonated drinks so that was the only positive out of that.Today I went right back to nothing but liquid and I am skipping my one allowed meal. I gained 3lbs back I was 9lbs down but back to 6lbs down. No more cheating or planned cheating scouts honor! lol 5 day until surgery!

Omgoodness yall! I'm so hungry right now and someone made rice in the rice cooker. I can smell it from upstairs. I am trying soooo hard to not go down stairs and eat a bowl of rice. I'm on day 7 of the pre op diet. I'm gonna be strong... maybe drink a protein shake that will likely fill me up so my hunger and food thoughts will pass!
  15. I'm down 7lbs... in two days it will be a week. I was hoping to lose atleast 10lbs by surgery date on the 23rd. I am not hungry at all during the day. Until it gets toward dinner time that's when I get really hungry. But my doc recently allowed the one meal a day and that helps a lot getting to eat a salad.
  16. I can answer my own question now that I am finally on my 2wk pre op diet. I stopped my daily starbucks frappuccino like 2 months before pre op diet and soda 3wks before pre op diet and I wont have had any for a month and a few days when I actually have the surgery. I cut out most sweets and junk food like chips ect, but did have an occasional ice cream here and there. But everything sugar free for pre OP diet is so sweet. I'm actually getting tired of everything being so sweet lol. I had broth one morning because I didnt want sweet again.
  17. Yes, Redbull is really addictive! I remember I would crave the taste. But once its out of the house it's easier to resist!
  18. I was just wondering about this today. Thank for the info!
  19. I know I was noticing and that's what brought up my concerns. My doctor said there was a 14% chance of developing it.
  20. No, because of the carbonation in them. No soda or "sparkling" water types even if they are sugar free.

I finally bought the sugar free popsicles and they are so good I am surprised how sweet they taste. Only disappointment is they only had 2 cherry ones in the whole pack lol!
  22. I asked my doctor about the one meal and he said for him its not about shrinking the liver its more about if I could actually do it because I want the surgery enough. Just like i thought! lol He's like i dont care if you do the diet or not... its up to you of course don't go crazy and the 2 days before its mandatory nothing but liquid! I told him I'm definitely ready for the surgery and I wouldn't be doing it if I wasn't. That I would do the one healthy meal a day like a salad. He said it was fine. WOO!!
  23. I spoke with him and he said that since i don't have it frequently and its a good sign that my reflux went away after pregnancy. He looked at my upper GI and it said no reflux was indicated during the procedure so he thinks the sleeve would be the best option for me. That when I lose weight it will also relieve more pressure off my stomach and its even lesser percentage that i would develop it. So I'm gonna stick with the sleeve and like he said if it gets bad we can always do the bypass.
  24. Tomorrow I see my surgeon for my last visit before surgery, which will be 10 days later. Originally I chose the sleeve because I felt it was the better option for me. But now I'm scared I'm making the wrong choice. I'm scared to develop GERD. I don't have GERD now, but sometimes I do get reflux maybe once every two week or so seems like when I eat meats. I've had GERD bad when I was pregnant. To the point I was constantly throwing up all the time because of all the acid in my throat which cause it to bleed. I had to take Prilosec a majority of my pregnancy. I don't know if I'm over thinking it and I'll likely be fine. The first time I seen my surgeon he seen my enrollment paperwork and I had mentioned the occasional reflux so when he seen me he told me that the sleeve might cause the reflux to worsen. But if worst case and meds don't help he could do a bypass... which I don't want to get the sleeve then end up needing the bypass. UGH! What would you guys do?!?!?! Chance it and go with the sleeve or just do the bypass?
