  1. Yes, its so hard! I'm day three and my head ache almost fully went away. The diarrhea is still here though and everytime I drink a protein drink 5mins later I have to go. Its terrible because I can't use public restrooms I clam up in them so I usually hold it for home. Its so stupid I wish I wasn't like that and I could get over my fear of using public restrooms for number 2. I see my surgeon tomorrow and its a 2hr away drive so im not gonna drink any protein until I get back home. lol. What really sucks is knowing the liver shrinking diet usually consists of one meal a day or two meals of lean meats and veggies. I've seen a lot of people on here get at least one meal a day so I'm tempted to ask my surgeon if I can have the one meal. I don't get hungry all day until late dinner time around 7 or 8pm and that's when it the pain starts to become bothersome. But then part of me doesn't want to ask incase he chastises me about it and thinks I'm not ready for the surgery because of it. BLAH! Heres to 10more days! ?
  2. (just putting this here so my embarrassing pic isn't the thumbnail of this thread lol)

So day two of pre-OP diet (promise I wont do a daily update everyday lol) I've had diarrhea all day long these past two days. So headache and diarrhea are associated with 2wk pre op diet. I haven't see anyone talk about them so I didn't expect this. Did the diarrhea last the whole two weeks or does it calm down after a few days?
  4. You look great! Congratulations on your success!
  5. In a regular stomach mucus in stool means you're lactose intolerant. Not sure if it's the same after surgery though.

Well day one of liquids went as well as I could of hoped for... It's hard telling myself no to little things. My husband made pizza for the kids and I wanted to eat just one pepperoni from the top of the pizza, but I stopped myself. I don't really feel hungry. I have a massive headache so maybe that is trumping my hunger que's. I can technically have one more protein shake, but i honestly don't want it. Did anyone else get a headache when they started their 2wk preop diet?

So I called thank goodness! I couldn't get ahold of anyone at first so I decided to call the dietitian. She said yes I am suppose to start it today. She asked if I had my packets from her classes and I told her yes. She said it outlines what I can have and just to go off that list. So today is officially day one of my liquid diet. I had protein drink this morning and a lot of water inbetween. Now I'm enjoying a cream of chicken broth from Bariatric Pal. I'm impressed with how flavorful it is. I have the variety pack so we'll see if the rest are as tasty. I'm not really hungry either... I normally don't eat the first few meals of the day. So i expect my hunger to hit me later tonight. ?

Tomorrow will be my 2wks until surgery and my surgeon said I would be doing a two week diet when I seen him on June 14 when we set up my surgery date. But they never told me what to do or anything for my two wk pre-op diet. I see my surgeon this Friday and by then I'll be 10 days before surgery. Should I call and ask them about it? I don't want them to be strict about the 2wks then push my surgery another week because they didn't rely information they should have...
  9. I never really had a moment just a lot of things that collided and me randomly thinking "bariatric surgery"! I don't know why it crossed my mind, but it did so I looked up if it was covered and it was so I started the process. I have been thin most of my life, but when I got pregnant with my son I gained 70lbs. With my first i had a military doctor and they did not listen to me at all. I knew something was wrong I was gaining like crazy, but not over eating I couldn't eat I was throwing up all the time. I had preeclampsia too and they made me go a week overdue because they wouldn't listen. Delivered a 10 1/2lb baby! With my second child 5yrs later my new doc said she thinks I'm borderline with gestational diabetes thats why my son was so big and I was gaining. They monitor me with my daughter and I gained 35lbs and lost it. But my PCOS kicked in inbetween having my children and it caused me to have a metabolic disorder and through the years I have just been gaining. With PCOS comes a ton of symptoms which is the weight gain, acne, abnormal hair growth on the neck and chin. That is what I hate the most. I knew losing the weight would help with the symptoms, but PCOS weight is different and extremely hard to lose because of the metabolic disorder. So that's what made me think of bariatric surgery. I'm a size 18 and weight 255.... I don't take pictures with my kids and I feel so bad. I'm ashamed of my weight even though technically its not fault but my condition that I happen to be born with ughhh lucky me! I was starting to back out of not wanting the surgery. Then some kid called me fat from the school bus passing our house. That hurt my feelings and pushed me more into pursuing the surgery. I don't want to embarrass my kids eventually when they get older and notice. My son is 10 and he tells me nothing it wrong with me and that I'm pretty lol bless his heart! I got a candid picture of me the other day and omg I am the same as you that I questioned is that me?!? I swear when I look in the mirror i dont see it... I see a thin person, but honey my eyes are deceiving me! Ill attach the pic... ugh so embarrassing! Anyways my surgery is July 23rd and after seeing this picture I cant waittttttt for my surgery to come. 2 more wks!

That's what I was hoping too! [emoji23]... I was like maybe it won't taste so bad after surgery.
  13. Yay! I can't wait for that honestly!

Oh wow! I didn't know they could use them for bariatric surgeries
  16. I researched a lot before I even went the bariatric route. I knew what I was getting into before I even talked to the doctor. But my acceptance was different because I went through the bariatric clinic on the military base and you don't have to go through all the hoops most insurance companies have you go through. I still had to go to seminars, I did four 2hr long nutrition classes, I had to go to support groups, and the psych evaluation. I still have two more classes I need to do for pre op one is an hr and the other is 2hrs. They expect you to start eating better and exercising, but we didn't have to go on a diet. They said if we went on a binge and gained weight then that would show them you're not ready for the surgery and they wouldn't do it. But for me my weight gain wasn't because I am an over eater, binge eater, ect. I gained weight from PCOS it caused me to have a metabolic disorder. So my body was just making me gain weight because it wasn't processing my insulin correctly. Basically my body is slow to let go of fat, but also holds creates more fat then usual. I would have to work out 3x's harder then the average person to lose pcos weight which is ridiculous and why I havent been able to lose it. It sucks because most of my life I was thin everyone in my family is thin... but lucky me I was the only one to have PCOS. I just keep gaining and gaining and its not from eating poorly and massive amounts of food its from PCOS that's why I always said its the Devil! lol But back to my original question. They never said stop eating everything we wont be able to eat after surgery at a certain time before surgery. I know for sure they expect you to stop on your pre-op diet, but before that all they said is don't gain more. So like you can see some stopped well before and some rode it out until the 2wk pre op diet and still cheated. I just wanted to see what the majority was.

You're having normal emotions for someone who has never had surgery. When I got my breast augmentation I felt the same way. I almost backed out while sitting in the parking lot the day of surgery because I was so afraid even though the complication rate is low. Its a scary thought going under anesthesia. But you will do just fine!!! Try to relax I know its easier said then done. You got this!!!

Ugh! I can't wait for my surgery now! I just got a candid picture of me that was taken yesterday and omgosh! I am a delusional fatty that still think's I'm skinny! lolololol I swear when I look in the mirror I don't see the weight at all, but when I see myself in pictures I'm like omgoodnesssss! Is that really me?!?! It makes me feel ashamed of myself and want to hide inside. [emoji20]

Temptation today! I want a soda. My brother bought a 12pk of soda. Ive been so good and only drinking unsweetened tea other then water. Ugh! I'm gonna stay strong. I have a lack of caffeine headache too you know the one a soda cures lol
  22. Mine would be 1. Not feeling ashamed walking next to my hubby. He works out daily and constantly gets told he looks like The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson. He's tall, buff, and handsome. When I am with him I feel like people stare and think ugh why is he with her she's fat. 2. Be comfortable going to my hubby's work functions. I don't go because I feel like I would embarrass him with my weight. 3. Be able to walk up the stairs without being winded 4. Not wearing plus size clothing. 5. I have PCOS so it gives me a metabolic disorders which makes me gain weight and I am looking forward to that being gone along with the other symptoms like excessive hair growth (i could probably grow a decent chin beard if I wanted) and acne. PCOS is the DEVIL!
  23. I was told to take Flintstone w/ iron then calcium citrate which I got from bariatric pal its the bariatric advance chews. I have been looking into Tespo its a machine kinda like a Keurig machine that will make you a shot of vitamins daily. They have a bariatric pod two shot glasses of drink a day one in morning and one at night and that it. Rather then taking a ton of pills. But I'm the worst at taking pills so I think it would be more beneficial for me to go the Tespo route.
  24. Some very good points ladies! I will need to tell the household my trigger foods... thats a good idea. And imagining myself eating in front of my surgeon. He chastised me for not working out yet [emoji37] lol so I'm kinda like YES SIR! ILL WALK EVERY DAY SIR! lol (I'm getting my surgery done through the military hospital). So I could definitely imagine his chastisement if I eat or drink badly.
