I agree. This really sounds like your gallbladder. You need to insist on an ultrasound. Severe attacks can feel like a heart attack. Try to stay low fat on what you are eating until you can get tested,
goid luck and please keep us posted!

I am having revision surgery with Dr Michel next week. I could not agree more about everything that you have said about him. I am certain that I am in very good hands.

Like the others have already mentioned. Warm drinks and broth. Jello and popsicles. I used to freeze my Protein Shakes so that I could eat them with a spoon like ice cream.
Just keep reminding ding yourself that this will only last a short time. You can do this!
I am on a 2 week preop diet right now for a revision from sleeve to bypass so I do feel your pain.
Hang in there and good luck.

You could tell him that you just had surgery without revealing what type it was. That way you could explain that your food choices are limited while healing.

Dr. Michel of the Coastal Carolina Bariatric Center in Summerville, SC is an amazing doctor. He's nice, patient, extremely knowledgeable and best of all, direct! He was the perfect surgeon for this somewhat shy introvert. He prepared me for the pre-surgery process, the surgery itself and gave me an idea of what to expect afterwards altho it's different for everyone. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor!

    You could try to:
*Nurse a cup of Water or tea
*Order the soup/vegetable of the day
*Ask if you can order off menu (maybe call ahead)
*Bring your own mug with broth/bullion cubes (tacky but effective- say you feel like you have a cold is coming on)
*Be upfront about your eating restrictions (hardest and easiest)
    Good Luck 💙

So I’m a month out from my revision today! Losing very slowwwwly... I’m looking for some advice, so I’m on purée foods and I got asked on a date for tomorrow! I really like this guy but he has no idea of my revision, I do want to go on this date and I asked him to send me the name of the restaurant so I could scope out the menu... besides Soup there was only one other thing that I think would be ok for me to eat, it’s Tilapia in coconut sauce with white rice... I’m thinking of skipping the sauce and asking for mashed potatoes in replacement for the rice.
Any thoughts? I’m nervous and kinda want to cancel... I asked to just go to the movies lol but he is not having it...

In my second week I was doing full fluids: Protein Shakes, clear & strained cream Soups - with no chunks or pureed stuff in it (pureed stuff wasn't on the table until week four in my plan).
Other full fluids (I didn't eat any of these during weeks 2-4, but were on my allowed list): plain greek yogurt, no/low salt vegetable juices, cream of wheat.
P.S. I would lay off the fruit juices though, they tend to have too much sugar in them....

WOW! I can't believe it's been 3 years since my Gastric Sleeve surgery! It feels like I had it yesterday.
I started out at 470 and I've pretty much maintained at 215 pounds for the bulk of this year. If anyone is on the fence about having this surgery, let me tell you, it's life changing.
I am so happy I did it. Not only is my health great, I've gotten very fit and am more active now than I have been in years.

Be careful. There can be some pretty devastating side effects of long term PPI like significant bone loss. I was on them for over 18 months till I switched to bypass. I’m on them for 3 months because I got ulcers 🙄 but I’m hoping they’ll heal. No coffee is killing me!

I have a girlfriend who had gastric bypass 12 years ago. She was at 450 pounds, got down to 200 but has since gone back up to 250. I had another friend and cousin who had the bypass too and they also have put the weight back on.
I was a medical biller for 25 years and thoroughly researched all three options before choosing the sleeve. I had my surgery on 8/21/19. My starting weight was 315 pounds. In the two years prior to my surgery, I managed to lose 35 pounds on my own with diet and exercise but it took two years. The two weeks of liquid diet before and after my surgery quick started my weight loss. On the morning of my surgery, I weighed in at 280. They had me up and walking two hours after my surgery. I was given one dose of Tylenol after my surgery and never needed any other type of pain med. It is absolutely wonderful to not be able to finish half of what was a regular meal for me. As if today, I weighed in at 237. All I can say is that the sleeve has been a godsend for me.
  21. Congrats!
Losingit2018 reacted to KateBruin in Gastric bypass or sleeve
I would do bypass simply because I got a sleeve, developed gastroparesis, issues with swallowing and horrible GERD. Suffered at least 18 months before I got bypass revision. It hasn’t been fantastic but no more GERD!! I got sleeve August 2017 and bypass April 4. Wasn’t for weight loss but the above issues. I’ve lost 110 lbs with sleeve, gained 50 on high dose steroids and bypass has helped me lose it and now I’m down 117 give or take from my highest!

And you don't have to go even the chewable route, I take prenatal Vitamins, yeah a lot of strange looks at W-M when you're over 70, some people think I buy them for a grand-daughter so I'll have healthy great- grandbabies, the ones I am honest with ( and already think I'm a tad flakey in the First Place) I joke with about it all but they have high rates of everything I Need including some Iron, well I still need extra because Precious Pouch does not like animal Proteins like meat, no problem , my Ferrocite is a teeny greenie once a day, take either citrus juice, diluted or a vi5am8n C with it. And my prenatals are a small caplet, not even as BIG as the ones I took when Verifiably preggo, and my dietician at OSU recommended them in the first place, Thank You Roy, couldn't hack chewables, couldn't chomp them with dentures, almost lost my love of applesauce when I put ground- up in it. My secret, small amount,of liquid, reopen gently mouth , toss things in and let them float down to Gut- Dom while I swallow. Ground up maybe a couple weeks , said "Flupp This" and taken whole pills since then except for Carafate which has to be dissolved into a slurry since my Cheapo Medicare Part D supplier SilverScripts(curse YOU!) won't pay a share of it for liquid, if I had to buy Carafate over the counter my ulcers would have perforated , BLED and I'd be Totally DeAD! And I have never in my 11.25 month bypass career ever dumped, truth is I vomit too quickly to ever be at Risk, Precious Pouch don't like,IT , it re- emerges QUICKLY, so fast it doesn't even smell at all, no real chance to digest.
But that's how the mop flops and I do love a BMI of 28, 188 pounds and securely in Junior and Misses clothes after a lifetime of " Where are your LARGER Clothes displayed?"- Almost always in the back near the Restrooms- Now I am in the front with pretty shades, large selections, and No Shame Any Longer- And Frustr8 is "rocking" until I topple over and get hauled off on a gurney!
