It would be very hard to find one comparable in nutrition. If you choose to do this, be sure to check the sugar content. Most Protein Bars are glorified candy bars.

Go back to your surgeon and ask them to test THOROUGHLY then submit it under revision for DOCUMENTED GERD (medically necessary)
    Good Luck 💜

July 22, 2019 changed my life! I am 133 days out of surgery and feel A-Maz-Ing! Pre-surgery I was 268..now on my birthday, I am 197!! A1C went from 6.7 to a 5.1! I’m also off all meds (cholesterol level still higher than my doc would like!). I am down from. 20/22 pants to a 16!! So happy!

Well it's a small milestone but I've officially lost 100 lbs since surgery on July 1. I was 441 then and now I'm 341 as of Dec 1. Overall for the year that puts me at 132lbs lost! I've been eating right, no cheating, working with weights for my arms and just started swimming 2 wks ago. I go swimming 4 days a week for 30 mins. I still have a long way to go but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel [emoji3]

Lots of people do. It seems to happen during the 2nd and 3rd years. That's why it is soooooo important to use that first 1-2 years to really solidify the lifestyle changes and strategies - exercise, clean eating, delaying gratification, learning not to cheat, and various tools like IF.

Losingit2018 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Getting from band to mini bypass scared.
I never had a band. I had sleeve surgery back in March of 2018. I developed gerd and hiatal hernia so had to revise to bypass 9 days ago.
Recovery hasn’t been horrible. I am still on liquids for 2 weeks post op.
The biggest hurdle I could see to going back to a sedentary type job would be the weakness and lack of energy. I feel at least some of this will get better at my 2 week mark once I am able to eat soft food.
I hope that this info helped and good luck!

Give yourself time to heal and wait until you are eating dense Protein. You will feel restriction.
If food were mushing out into your abdomen, you would definitely know it.
Yourlungs get weak during surgery due to the anesthesia. If you use that handy dandy spirometer that they gave you for lung exercises, you should bounce back pretty quickly

It is more important to get your fluids than your Protein at this point.
Try a different brand of shake. You can also get fairlife milk from grocery store and drink it instead of shakes if you just can’t tolerate them.
I had no problem with the Premier Protein shakes pre op. Had my revision to rny last Friday and I am not able to keep premier protein down at all. I switched to Syntrax and fairlife milk.
Another thing is to make sure you are just slowly sipping your shakes. Like one ounce in 15 minutes or so. Go too fast and they will come back up due to lack of anywhere to go once your pouch is full.
Hang in there and keep us posted.

Hey guys decided I would post some pics and my story. I’m Mike and I’m 37 from Montreal. Waited a full 5 years to get this surgery. Best decision I ever made.

Surgery was Nov. 22, 2018 and I’ve since lost over 180 lbs! I work out 6 times a week; cardio, swimming and various exercises.

let me know what you think!

I am going through the same. Was fine with shakes with my sleeve but can’t handle them after my revision to bypass.
I use fairlife milk (13 gma protein) Unjury chicken broth (21 gma protein) and Bone Broth (10 grams protein) to get my Protein in.
Hang in there and good luck.

Get some if the one ounce medicine cups. Drink from them and try to stick to one ounce every 15 minutes. That’s worked for me.

Not sure about the sugar free hard candy. I will tell you that I have had a few sf butterscotch candy since surgery. I would think that as long as you are careful not to swallow them whole it would be the same as sf liquid.
Bone Broth is also available at most grocery stores and will give you about 10 grams Protein per serving. Warm liquids are easier for me to handle.
