Best Multivitamin?
Shipping is like $6-$7 so I also got a few shaker cups, chicken flavored protein powder and my calcium citrate at the same time https://www.unjury.com/opurity-bypass-sleeve-optimized-chewable-new-formulation.html

Best Multivitamin?
I use the Opurity Sleeve and Bypass optimized. No ingredients from China, chewable, taste relatively good and are only $10 per month. Plus, I only have to take one per day . BRB with a link. BTW- If you have trouble chewing a vitamin, try sucking on it like a hard candy.

Minimizing Hair Loss When You Have PCOS
I did a lot of research on hair loss after WLS. My findings have been that the single most important thing anyone can do to minimize hair loss post op is to get as much protein in that you possibly can post op. Shampoos and topical solutions just don't work.

Pooping is stressful!
Thanks. That is the same price that Amazon has for a two pack. Good to know that I did not overpay.

Pooping is stressful!
Sadly, it is member only there https://www.costco.com/Squatty-Potty-Toilet-Stool-2-pack.product.100318703.html I have a Sams membership but they don't seem to carry them.

Pooping is stressful!
One cap full every single day. I add it to my coffee or my water. Disolves easily and tasteless. It draws water to the colon so softens as well. best to drink lots of water after taking it which we have to do anyway. No bad or harsh side effects

Pooping is stressful!
Thanks! Amazon seemed a bit high. Will look at Costco and Sams online.

Did anyone feel hungry after surgery?
@GeorgieDean If you are not allowed protein shakes, how are you getting your protein in?
-
Did anyone feel hungry after surgery?
I do know that you will not feel the restriction on liquids for sure. Also, I have been sticking to very soft food so far. It may take denser protein and maybe the swelling to heal a bit more before I feel restriction.
-
Did anyone feel hungry after surgery?
I know! Hang in there. Once you get to soft solids, you will no longer starve. Promise.

Did anyone feel hungry after surgery?
I have not yet felt the restriction! They told me that I would feel a "tightness" in my chest. I have yet to feel that. I do get a feeling down where my stomach was that is slightly uncomfortable but, I don't think that is it. I am using these little 4 oz ramekin dishes to control portions. I make sure that I keep myself at 3-4 ounces so maybe I am not full yet? Kind of nervous about pushing the envelope.

Pooping is stressful!
Ok, ok! I am off to Amazon to buy a squatty potty lol

Did anyone feel hungry after surgery?
jenn1 is correct. I too felt hungry while on the liquid stage post op. I stayed on full liquids for 3.5 weeks and it was rough. Just started soft solids yesterday and it is a whole new ball game. Follow your teams instructions and this will work for you. No doubt about that.

Pooping is stressful!
I agree with allwet. I suffer from chronic constipation. Been using Miralax every day for 10 years now and it works. Very safe as well. You seriously can do some damage from going without BM for too long or straining too much.

Almost 60 and getting sleeve on 4/24/18
I am 55 and was sleeved on 03/26. I had plenty of class/surgery mates that were 60 and beyond. So, it is not unusual to have this done later in life. Like most people here, my only complaint is that I did not get it done sooner. Good luck!

Pre-admission testing
My pre admission testing consisted of meeting anesthesiologist and getting bloodwork done. Not sure if it will be the same for you or not but, thinking so.

Any March 2018 Sleevers?
Thanks for sharing this info. I am 3 weeks out and only lost 7 pounds so far. I see my surgeon for second time 1 week from tomorrow. It is nice to know what is going on without having to wait a week.

March 2018 sleevers
I was sleeved 03/26. Lost 8 pounds first week. Nothing second week. Gained 1 pound 3rd week. I am not even on solid food yet! Really does get frustrating even though I know that I have to lose when I am eating so little. Ugh.

Has anyone's sleep apnea worsened since surgery?
I have not lost much weight yet but, I did want to chime in and say that 5 or less events per hour puts a person in the normal range. Mine is severe and I would just about pay to be under 10 per hour from where I am at now. Still doesn't seem like you should have more than you did pre op. If you were under 5 pre op you were doing great!

Vitamins
I use bypass and sleeve optimized from Unjury. I like that no ingredients come from China. They taste good to me and I only need one per day. Priced very well too I also use their chewable calcium citrate which tastes good as well.

Protein shakes making me sick
Which protein shake are you using? It is common to become lactose intolerant even if just temporary post op. You may want to try something different like Syntrax or Unjury. I use Syntrax with no problems at all. The chocolate truffle is very good and not overly sweet. Very important to get your protein in so that you can heal.

Suggestion???
Did your dietician give you a list of foods to eat? Walden Farms makes some great dressings and sauces that are zero calorie. They really helped to get me through my pre op diet.

Best Fast Food Bets after Bariatric Surgery
Very good suggestions. Thank you.

Hunger Finally Gone
Great news! This gives me hope as I am just over 2 weeks out. Still on full liquids but, I am experiencing real (not head) hunger. Looking forward to losing my appetite.

How long After Gastric Sleeve....?
I am on phase 2 of my teams full liquids. That includes cottage cheese, sf pudding, strained creamed soup. I have 2-3 ounces 6 times per day plus 3 protein shakes (must be 100% whey isolate for best absorption) Next Wednesday I will advance to soft solids like ricotta cheese, soft deli meats, soft cheese, etc.
