  1. I was convinced I was going to be an outlier and lose weight very quickly since I had such a good metabolism most of my life. It took me at least 5 months to accept that is not the case with me. I’m happy for everyone that loses faster than average and happy for everyone that keeps plodding along. We are all in the same boat, some of you have motors and I have an oar. ?
  2. This was SO good. I know it is an odd breakfast but it’s what I had today. Best 106 calories I’ve had in awhile! 14 gr. Protein 7 carbs. 1.5 oz shredded chicken breast 1 mission street corn tortilla fresh pico
  3. Ok, I compromised. I went to the gym but I did cardio instead of the class. I don’t know why I am so reluctant, the regular instructor is back today and I like her. I’ll go again, it is a good workout. I did 30 minutes of cardio, 20 squats and I’m going for a 30 minute walk this afternoon to atone for my avoidance. Pretend I went to the class @ms.sss !
  4. I’m going to do #12 on days when I don’t care for the challenge. (I’m looking at you #11.)
  5. I’m not a huge fan of these “self love” parts. I’ll give it a whirl. I’m resilient, funny, realistic, competitive, open minded, accepting, empathetic, sympathetic, progressive and forgiving. I am however d.r.e.a.d.i.n.g. Going to the gym today. The strength aerobic class I have been taking is in an hour and I’m thinking of every excuse in the book to miss it. My plan is to suck it up and go, I’ll keep you posted. Feel free to shame me into going! ? I will do the squats afterwards.
  6. Favorite Social media app. I’m not sure if it’s my favorite but I use Twitter the most. I just have to monitor my blood pressure while reading! ? Pinterest is definitely a healthier choice.
  7. This was dinner last night, I was stuffed after I ate most of it. My makeshift pizza. Boars Head Italian chicken sausage with 1/2 flatout low calorie bread and 1/3 cup shredded part skim mozzarella. 300 calories 12 carbs.
  8. You have lost a lot of weight, congratulations! We had surgery a month apart and I’m in the home stretch. I looked up 20 pounds ago and that was February 12th, so about 3.5 months or so. After a lackluster March I joined a gym with a personal trainer, bought a Fitbit, tightened up my diet and started participating on this website. I personally think working out and staying active is the key and will remain the key forever. If you want to join us for the June challenge come on over to this thread. Nothing is required, just motivation and support. here is the link June Challenge
  9. My ideal day. (It’s sunny and 75) I have many scenarios based on weather lol. Wake up at 8:30 after a great nights sleep. Have a hot shower followed by a big iced coffee with sugar free vanilla creamer. Mid morning go for a walk at the riverfront and enjoy the scenery followed by lunch with friends or family at my local taqueria. Late afternoon hit a few stores and find the perfect outfit on sale. Relaxed dinner of grilled shrimp with a crisp salad (that I did not cook) with my husband, followed by sitting and chatting around the fire pit. Go to bed before 10 and much to my surprise find a romantic comedy I’ve never seen and thoroughly enjoy. Zzz And scene!
  10. 140 is my first goal, I plan on going lower once I hit that one. I need wiggle room.
  11. I’m following this because I’m going to need it in a month or 2, the idea of maintenance scares me.
  12. Welcome and hi all new people! I’m so excited the scale FINALLY moved today. I feel like I have a pattern of a drop the first week of the month then I hover for a few weeks. It feels like my body adjusts to the new weight even longer now. (I have been a slow loser from month 2) I’m down 2 pounds and 1.4 pounds from goal number one. Hang in there all you slow losers and stallers! Back to the gym today and including the core class. I have to think about my ideal day would be, however starting out with a 2 lb weight loss might make the list!
  13. It’s normal, you will continue to lose. I was sleeved 8/13/18. I checked my numbers. At 4-5 months out I was losing 4-5 pounds a month. It feels slow but it does come off. And, congratulations on the 54, that is awesome.
  14. Distraction free meals are a tough one for me. I did have company this weekend so I did eat at a table with no phone just people. I think that counts. I did the jumping jacks and it felt weird, I haven’t done those in years. I skipped the gym this weekend, I’m glad I did, I feel ready to go back at it tomorrow morning. I stayed active and walked a lot so it’s all good. mental health question. No qualms about getting help. I have ADHD and anxiety but both are under good control because I get help.
  15. Are we twins?
  16. I have the inspire hr and my husband has the charge 3. I wish I would have bought the charge 3 for myself simply because of the battery life, his is SO much better.
  17. My first goal this month is to hit my first goal of 140. I’m 3-4 pounds away and it’s been slow but I’ll get there! My second goal is to find a healthy gym/workout balance. I tend to be gung-ho the first few months and then burn out. I’m very aware of that and want to avoid that pitfall. I had sleeve surgery 8/18. I feel optimistic today. We have family coming for the weekend and I’m excited to hang out with them. Going to take a long walk today, and do a plank the best I can.
  18. Come and join the June challenge if you wish. Do as little or as much that works for you. Hopefully @GreenTealael will provide “B side questions “ if she has time. Off we go! Start by saying hi, surgery date (unless you are pre-op), type of surgery and state 1 or 2 goals you plan to accomplish this month. Goals don’t have to be weight or food related. Everyone is welcome to join at anytime, we are just supporting each other.
  19. I’ll put together a June thread if people are interested. Any suggestions and Input welcome.
  20. I’m just practicing in case I help with June challenge. @GreenTealael Let me know! Btw, are people still interested?
  21. Visit a new place. I forgot about this, retraced my steps and didn’t go anywhere new today. Went to the gym, I need to mix it up, it’s getting boring! I talked to the trainer and she’s going to help me with that. Went out to dinner tonight, it’s a great BBQ place with really a good grilled chicken breast. I don’t feel like I’m depriving myself when I go there. Headed to bed early tonight!
  22. I have a few goal weights based on how hard it is to get there. I’m still working toward goal 1 of 140. That was my normal weight in my 40’s. I have 3 pounds to go but that could take me another 2-3 weeks. If it takes longer than that then I will adjust my expectations. My body seems to LOVE being 143ish. When I break the 140 barrier I would love to get to 132, (normal weight in my 30’s) like Aprilgal mentioned, so I would have wiggle room. I had the blessing and curse of a great metabolism until I was in my late 40’s. I’m in my late 50’s so I’m in new territory therefore unsure what is realistic right now. I thought I would have lost weight at a much quicker pace than I am. I’m not complaining, it’s just a steep learning curve for me and I’m accepting that I have a slow metabolism. Skipping the gym today because I am so freaking sore from yesterday, I am going for a long walk in between rainstorms though. Helping others out: Local low income apartment complex has a “store” for their residents. I bought and dropped off a bunch of items they needed for stock.
