  1. I am 4 months post op. I have had dry skin issues since about a week or two after surgery, which I felt was fairly normal. My water intake was dramatically reduced. Now I get at least 60oz a day and lotion with heavy cream at least once a day but do often times lotion up twice. I used Palmer's cocoa butter (I swear by it). But my stomach skin and hands are still dry. Any one have any thoughts or ideas on this?
  2. Honestly, I prefer this forum over Facebook groups. I haven't had good experiences on Facebook. Very judge-y and love to tell you crazy things like "you aren't loosing weight because you aren't smudging yourself with enough sage!" ? The majority of the people here are expirenced and have truly good advice.
  3. I felt the same as you. I wasn't even sure if I was experiencing gas pains, in hindsight they definitely were. I felt better about a week out when the anesthesia dissapated and I could move around more. My tummy made a lot of noise too but I didn't feel hungry. I definitely wanted to eat though but was too scared, I just followed the doctor's orders and now 3 months out, I feel normal except that I can only eat very small portions of food. Good luck on your journey and be patient with yourself!
  4. I FEEL HORRIBLE today. I can feel congestion in my chest building up and I have a sore throat. I also very sleepy. I called my surgeon to ask what kinds of meds are ok and he told me it's 100% safe for me to take any medicine now that I am 3 months out. I feel seriously run down. Normally, the rare occasions that I've gotten sick, I've been ok, like able to work through it . Has anyone noticed this themselves? Any advise on taking care of myself with my new sleeve- besides fluids! Lol that's always a rule when you're sick.
  5. Mine is definitely noticeable. I can tell I've lost quite a bit around my hairline and especially near my temples. I already have lots of baby hairs, so that's a good sign at least. As long as it keeps decreasing in the amount I'm losing, I can deal with it. The beggining was really be and scared me a lot because I really thought I was going to lose it all.
  6. Mine has been going for about a month. It seems like it's slowing. Today, my husband had to unclog my shower drain.
  7. Me at my heaviest 250 and me 3 months PO. I'm 4ft11 and still have a way to go, but I'm feeling proud and happy.
  8. No meds, the doc is going to monitor me for the next couple months to figure out if it is actually related to weight loss or truly higher cholesterol. I have no family history of it nor have I ever had it myself.
  9. I feel like it is not feasible, with the small amount that I am able to consume in addition to making good food choices.
  10. I haven't been doing keto on purpose. The current guidelines from my doc are fruit, veggies, and meat. It's okay for me to do 1 protien shake or bar a day (getting me to focus on getting nutrients and protien from whole foods) . I don't do very much fruit because of the sweetness. I've been leaning towards and loving strawberries and berries in general. I suppose one thing that I have a few times a week that I love Is peanut butter.
  11. The doc said that it is likely from the rapid weight loss, I don't eat much outside of the guidelines. A few days ago, I ate 5 candy corn. But really truly behave 99.9% of the time. I have really been examining my diet to make sure I'm doing it right.
  12. I suffered from bad breath for a while. I seriously think that it's ketosis. It really helped when I got a tongue scraper. It seems that with protien shakes and things like that - they really coat your tongue.
  13. So I got my 3 month lab results today and my cholesterol is elevated! The doc said that it could be because of rapid weight loss..has anyone expirenced this?
  14. Update- my labs are all perfect. I haven't taken vitamins in a week. I did purchase some bariatric vitamins at my doctor's office, and took one today and didn't get nauseous. My cholesterol is elevated though!!! How in the heck!
  15. So I am 3 months PO and am STRUGGLING TO TAKE my vitamins. They make me nauseous. I make sure that I take them with food, I try to take them before bed and in the morning. I have tried Bariatric Fusion Chewables, bariatric Fusion multi-vitamin tablets and alive vitamins. I had labs drawn today to check my levels, but I have missed vitamins every day for a week before that. ? What are you taking that's gentler? Anyone suffer with intense nausea from vitamins?
  16. Thanks for your kind words. I definitely need them. I guess I worry because it is lasting so long.
  17. Good morning. I have been stalled for 2 weeks and before that I was stalled an additional 2 weeks- lost 3 lb then stalled again. I am discouraged and panicking. I am following Drs orders to a "T". Is there anything I should do? I am eating a traditional low fat, low carb diet and I STRUGGLE to get 600 Calories in daily. I do feel like clothes are fitting different through This period.
  18. My surgeon said that the pouch is trying to figure out how much acid it needs to produce. So it just takes some time. Some people, get better and some keep the reflux. I just wanted to see if anyone reflux has improved.
  19. The biggest thing about carafate is that it coats the stomach tissues and facilitates healing. It also stops my heartburn.
