  1. So this is just me ranting...I am not looking for people to tell me what to do or how to handle this, just figured it would help my aggravation to just “say” it out loud, if that makes any sense...sort of therapy for me. Lol. I dearly love my mother in law but she is ridiculous about people’s weight. I honestly don’t think there has been one single time in the 17 years knowing her that she has not described a friend or someone she knows by how large they are. She has no clue how much this frustrates me because if she says things like this about her friends, what is she saying about me??? I am actually not in a place that I care what she says I just think it’s uncalled for and I have mentioned it to my husband but that’s about it. I just guess I don’t understand why she can’t refer to someone as who they are not how wide they are. I refuse to tell her that I am in the process of surgery because she would likely tell everyone she knows and people she doesn’t know about it and it’s private, only my husband knows. So that’s it, thanks for listening (or reading I guess, ha ha ha). Hope everyone has an awesome first day of spring!!!
  2. Thanks! I just verified that my insurance doesn’t have a minimum loss over the 6 months (whew!) but I need to have lost some weight. I wish I only had to deal with this for 3 months that would have been awesome! :)
  3. You could have your physician list it as “medically necessary surgery” and that should suffice.
  4. Thank you so much! I have a couple more months to go so I think I will be good. I was not given a target weight though so wondering if I should be inquiring about that...overall I am down but this past month has been a nightmare.
  5. The insurance company I have requires a monitored 6 month period by your physician before they will perform the surgery. Not all insurance is the same so you may not have this requirement. :)
  6. Hi everyone! I am in the six month pre-op period and have a dr. Appointment this week. I have gained a couple of lbs since my last dr appointment and am curious if his happened to anyone else and what happened...does the six months start over? Do they give you a pass as long as you lose weight the remaining months of the initial six months? I’m so extremely disappointed in myself and have had a stressful month (not an excuse I know)...this is just stressing me out even more. Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance! :)
  7. I’m so glad you brought this up because I have told no one but my husband - and wondered if that is “normal” - but I don’t particularly need people knowing my personal business. I haven’t gotten my surgery date yet and don’t plan on sharing after I have it done either.
  8. Heard good things about running belts, they hold all kinds of things, are comfy (don’t know if they would cause connection issues) but they have them on amazon for relatively inexpensive prices. Hope you find something that works!
  9. All of you are totally inspiring me!! So awesome! I just had my first appt. with the surgeon so it won’t be til next year if I am approved but everyone is doing an amazing job!
  10. Wow you look great!! How tall are you?
  11. Oh my gosh lady you look amazing you should totally be excited and happy!!! Awesome!! :)
  12. What is a peer to peer appointment? I haven’t been informed of this and am just curious. Hope you get in by the year end! :)
  13. Thank you! Probably weird but I’m a little nervous. :)
  14. Good Morning! I just had my first appointment with the bariatric center last week. I met with the surgeon, a nutritionist, and had blood drawn. All of my blood results came back great (I’m the healthiest fat person I know! Lol). Next up is the psych evaluation. I am curious how that went for others and what should I expect? I have a questionnaire to complete but they did say the appointment will be at least 2 hours so what was discussed at your psych evaluation and anything I should know? Also any general advise for a newbie that is hoping for surgery early next year? Thanks in advance!
