Premier protein shakes. GOOD OR BAD?
Premier protein is very highly regarded. Unjury ready to drink is what I have used from day one. No aftertaste

10 Month Update - Weight loss chart included
Much to my surprise this morning I got on the scale and it read 248! This is lower than my low in 2012 when I briefly was able to lose 50lbs and is the lowest I have been since 2003/2004. Both diet and activity levels have been consistent the past few weeks so dont think there was anything specific. This was a major psychological hurdle and the next major milestone will be hitting the goal that I originally set out for. Updated chart below.

Phase 1 - Help!
Sounds like a horribly cruel joke. I am going to assume complete ignorance on the person involved. Throw them away it is completely unsafe to even attempt that at 1 week out. Then go find their coffee and pour ex lax in it.

10 Month Update - Weight loss chart included
Now 10 months post op and down 109lbs from my peak. Calories are edging higher now in the 1200-1600 range. With respect to meals my brain feels totally retrained on how much to eat. My challenges are sugar and slider food which is extremely calorie dense but not offering the same restriction. Below is my weekly chart to give everyone a sense of what the rate of loss looks like. Still not exercising as much as I should which is the last thing hindering my progress. I am quite good at making excuses not to do actual exercise and much prefer things activity based.

I was directing my point to mikey after his snarky comment to the op

Struggling with preop diet
It only gets easier from here so just stick with the plan. The first most after surgery is a breeze and the weight will be falling of so you will be motivated to keep going.

How do you psychologically deal?
I over prepared psychologically and the first 6 months were an a breeze. For me its been tough psychologically dealing with the end of the honeymoon period but being short of my goal but still very happy with the results. As you will see from this community everyone is so much happier post surgery and often you hear the biggest regret was not doing it sooner.

***UGH I am so effing hungry!!
More than likely you didnt get fat eating cheese turkey and snack crackers so you should still be ok. The severe calorie drop you had immediately after surgery is not permanent. The 7 month stall is a very real thing. Try to get an idea how much you are eating but you are probably still easily lat a calorie deficit and just stay the course.

Does your Total Daily Energy Expenditure change after WLS?
If you are trying to isolate for if WLS patients have lower TDEE than non WLS patients that weigh the same amount that's a good question. As you lose weight your TDEE will drop but that's the same for everyone.

Does your Total Daily Energy Expenditure change after WLS?
Aj you are afraid of food now though. 600-700 at 7 months seems ridiculous

I must announce....

OK, so if 90+ lbs from goal weight do I just wait or start researching dr's and procedures now?
I asked this question at my 6 month and much to my surprise he he said to start the research process now as it will take time to get an appointment then they will advise where they suggest being weight wise before they can do whatever procedure to get my desired results. I have my 9 month follow up today and next week I see the plastic surgeon for the initial consult (took 3 months to get an appointment) I am still 30lbs from my goal and my progress has slowed to a crawl. I could still get in a lot more activity and really need something to motivate me as I can feel complacency of my "new normal".

In before thread goes crazy!

Should I order Chinese food
Shrimp and steamed vegetables definitely ok but depends on how they prepare it. Spices are not well tolerated the first few months.

Feeling a bit bad about what I ate
Sinner! You are going to hell! Someone banish Isabel from the board and brand her with the Scarlet letter for the traitor and food adulterer that she is! As ridiculous as that sounds expect someone to have some not so kind words to you about how they havent cheated yet and are going to get to like 180lbs (no names no names). Only you know what your triggers are and you will know if you are dealing with something that can escalate. You didnt get fat eating a Reeses or hand full of skinnypop you got fat from eating the whole bag and doing so on a consistent basis.

NSV for me!!
Lots of spills and a couple wipe outs so far. Logistics are not my department.

NSV for me!!
It’s a mile away and there is no parking. In the summer it makes for a nice walk but can be difficult to get away for that long. Pics in case you think I’m kidding.

NSV for me!!
Phenomenal Jake! I was looking for a NSV thread to share mine as well. Big NSV for me today. We have an electric scooter in the office for our starbucks runs and when we got it a little over a year ago I thought I would never be able to ride it because of the weight limit. Today much to my surprise when getting on the scale I was finally down to scooter weight!

My one year update
Matey great video but you are vastly underestimating how much weight you lost on the video. Should be 228lbs not 128! Either would be remarkable!

6 weeks out - how many calories are appropriate?
at 315lbs even if you are eating 1000 calories a day the weight should be falling off you. Something seems off you should probably post a food log.

HELP - Drank Water w/ Meals Post Op
I am horrible at following this as I have been washing my food back with drinks for years. I know if i drink while eating I am in for a lot of pain yet I still find myself pushing it at times. I call it digestive hell when I eat and drink. If you absolutely must just take tiny sips as if you do gulp you are in for a lot of pain.

Weight loss slow down
Unjury ready to drink has milk in it but only 2G of sugar and 110 calories in 8.5oz. I put that stuff against anything else for best taste
