Kay, so heading back out to work soon, but I finished a challenge at the Pilates studio.
    20 classes in 20 days.
Lol, I finished in 17 days bc we are going out of town for the weekend tomorrow.

Lately this has been my look.
Not glamorous, and definitely no lipstick, but effective.
I’ve really noticed more muscle definition in the last 3 weeks and I’m loving it!

I got my hair done yesterday, it’s leaning more purple and less pink now. And today’s outfit is cozy leggings and sweater dress. I’m wearing the belt that I think was first worn in here by sillykitty?

I haven't been feeling great lately (very tired, anxious, etc) so had some blood tests. I just got the results and it looks like (I haven't talked to the doctor yet) that I am anemic. Also Vitamin D deficient... again. I am not good at taking Vitamins but this is a wake up call and I'm going to get on the nutrition wagon! I guess to answer your question Sheri, taking my vitamins and taking it seriously has been my biggest issue.

Like you, SheriBear, I am focused on whole foods, as nutritionally dense as possible. No junk, nothing artificial or processed. Since going plant based, I am eating way more than I ever thought possible, and much more carbohydrates in the form of whole cooked grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, and fruit. It has been a real challenge to overcome the "low carb" mindset, now that I am maintaining. I feel absolutely fantastic, have more energy than I ever thought possible, absolutely no soreness after workouts, and still slowly losing weight - about a pound a month. I could lose a total of 10 pounds more, but absolutely no more than that. I am fine the way I am in the low 140s. I get plenty of Protein, even with very little supplementation with Protein Powder now. I log all my food, but do not count calories any more. I still practice 16: 8 IF.
I have become a fan of Dr. Michael Gregor, author of "How Not to DIe," and "How Not to Diet." The books are summaries of tens of thousands of studies about weight loss and longevity - and all the information is evidence based. There are lots of small tweaks that can be made - like timing of exercise, timing of eating, cognitive behavioral changes, etc, that are based on science. Anyway, one of the huge take-aways I am trying to wrap my mind around is that portion limitation usually fails in the long run, but if you eat the right foods, you can eat as much as you want and still lose weight. This is more successful than any form of deprivation. (Now I am talking from a maintenance perspective - not fresh post op patients.) I have been testing it on myself, and I can honestly say that I cannot eat all that I usually outline for the day. I feel stuffed all the time, yet still lose weight. I am shocked each morning when I weigh and the scale continues to edge downward. It is counter intuitive to all my previous experiences with dieting or even the prevailing information that is out there.
This year has been absolutely amazing. I love how I look, how I feel, and how much of my life has been regained. I honestly think I feel better than I did 20 years ago! Wooo Hooooo!

Agree with this @Sheribear68! I'm also 4" shorter than you, and get so many compliments in my palazzo pants. I also agree, keep the top fitted. I think you have a bit of body dysmorphia because you are definitely not short and stubby anywhere

    Thanks everyone.
If I can wear them you can too @Sheribear68. You’re like 4 inches taller than me girl & my legs are short & stumpy too (they’d probably reach your knees). You should give a wider straight leg a go. They always look smart day, night, work, socialising. Just keep the top neat & close to your body.
Love that even though you just had surgery you still put on your red lippy @Sophie7713. That’s classy!

    Hello February family!
Can you guys believe it’s been almost a year since we’ve had surgery?

I’m curious as to what many of us are struggling with now vs what we THOUGHT we might be struggling with.

    I’ll go first:
Never ever in my wildest hopes did I think a year ago that I would be struggling to eat enough calories to slow my loss. Guys, I’m planning menus more now with more attention to detail than I ever did during this process.
Any day that I can actually eat up to 1100 calories (my goal for the last 2 weeks) is a major celebration.
I mean, I could eat CRAP and get there, but I’m determined to do it with whole, healthy food, which is still incredibly challenging with this sleeve.
Also, I still struggle with BD, and have to take pics a few times a week to really “see” how thin I am now.
Wow.... typing out that I’m “thin” was difficult.

Anyway, I’d love to hear of y’all s thoughts and see if we can work together to deal with some of our issues and move together as a group into year #2

Okay so I just posted on the stall thread, but this discussion here is also relevant.

Here is from 1 month PO, when I got this scale. I’d already lost 25 pounds and had my 2-week stall (which is why I got the nicer scale that had Bluetooth to help me keep track)

What’s interesting is the time period from thanksgiving to first week in January.
I thought I was in maintenance only to discover it was yet another stall. 🤷‍♀️

LOVE these pants although with my short and stubby legs I fear I’d look ridiculous in something so trendy and chic.

Angiebear, you’re continuing to disappear right before our eyes!

I’ve said this before, but someday we all need to agree to meet somewhere fun and go on a massive shopping trip.

Need all y’all to help me with my conservative ways and to try to get past not wanting to attract attention to myself and blend in with the background.

lol, I’ve been behind in posting and I’ve lived in yoga pants since yesterday morning so I’m not posting pics of those.....

    Everyone looks amazing (as always).
One day I intend to step up my fashion game (as soon as I win the lottery)

Sweater is a size small and black pants are a size 6.
Still can’t believe it when I put this size on and it fits

    You look TINY Sheribear!
My outfit for today. I am interviewing student applicants for a job here, so I went with something light, cheerful, and not too professionally so that they don’t get too nervous. I mean, they are going to be nervous, but no use making it worse.
I really like this dress, I just got it in from ModCloth’s sale. It’s got a tie waist, so it should last me for a while as I (hopefully?) continue to shrink.
I left my head in the picture on the first one because it was too derpy not to. It’s cracking me up. I’m at work, so it’s the funhouse mirror.

I can relate to most of this.
Despite losing down to a BMI of the 23-ish range, I have MAJOR cellulite on both thighs and pads of fat all around my knees. You can see almost every rib and my clavicles are now extremely prominent, but the lower belly pooch won’t go away either.

I’m probably really odd in this, but I’m almost glad I have a flat butt and flat boobs.
I’ve always had the body with the boobs and butt, when I’ve always really wanted the thin, long, athletic build.
Most of my fam is the long lean build and it makes me crazy that I “identify” as that, but that my body decided to go a different route.

Give me a straight-line profile with skinny legs, zero butt and a-cups and I’d be over-the-moon happy.
Anyway, my dream plastic job would be to eliminate almost all of my curves

Sheribear68 got a reaction from glannin in Embrace the Stall
So this is something I think some of you might be interested in:

I had 3 major stalls in my first 10 months PO.
In spite of that, I managed to hit GW in my 8th month.

Then at 10 months out (which was during the holidays) I found myself at the same weight for a month and I was thinking I was in maintenance. I was 5-7 pounds BELOW GW, so the maintain didn’t bother me.
I put my scale away bc I wanted to just enjoy my new body and lifestyle and told myself I’d use how my clothes fit as a guide.

Then about 2 weeks ago I was taking a selfie and noticed my clothes were baggier than I remembered. Got on the scale and was shocked to discover another 6 pound loss.
During that 3-4 week period of time, I ate and drank with reckless abandon. I most surely didn’t “earn” that 6 pound drop.
And since then I’ve dropped another 2 pounds while trying to INCREASE my calories.

Stalls are weird and they can take you by surprise. That last one disguised itself as maintenance.
