  1. Oh okay well I'm about 8 weeks out from my surgery date atm but I'll take on board what you said might add another shake THANKS.
  2. I think I'm around 1000cal a day and maybe 100g protein very low carb. No sugar. (The high protein actually makes me full quick) Isn't the actual preop shake diet like 600cal? & I thought post op would be around 500cal for the first month at least? Plus the RNY offers the Malabsorption component?
  3. She is right something is not working... Are you getting enough protein everyday??
  4. I'm eating tuna and salmon (small cans) and protein shakes atm preop
  5. Can you give examples of healthy fats and veggies and fruits to be eating?
  6. Take a deep breath.. Relax for a minute.. Realise they have their reasons for the requirements and In the end you'll be well prepared for life post op
  7. The brand is called scitec nutrition 100% Whey Protein Professional chocolate hazelnut its a little sweet but add more water is better.
  8. This one I got just opened it today 1 scoop with water in a shaker cup and shake for 10secs no lumps at all and tastes amazing like chocolate milk shake

  10. Its not unheard of to lose up to 100lbs in 6months
  11. Some ppl are told optifast only but my surgeon says any decent protein powder will do long as it's highest protein&lowest carbs/sugar.
  12. Look for pure whey protein isolate WPI for those with lactose issues
  13. Why not just get the bypass to be safe if that's going to rid of any possible tumor
  14. Even after the 1lb you know You'll fluctuate daily it's normal
  15. Depends are you on liquids for that month or are you progressing through stages already.. Low Calories intake is what matters most at the early stages with high protein
  16. Pretty sure that's a very specific insurance company because most won't do COSMETIC surgery unless medically necessary!!
  17. It comes down to your surgeon and how confident he is
  18. that's my mantra stay on protein shakes if you can
  19. High protein first before anything be careful of hidden carbs and sugars
  20. Well obviously the closer to your goal the less to shed so definitely the final 20-30lbs can take just as long as the first 100lbs. Just like ppl from 600lb life losing 100lbs the first month because they have 400 to lose. Most people need at least 6 months to lose 100lbs but it all comes down to your total EXCESS WEIGHT % for the best chance at success you need to be strict from day 1 follow your plan to the letter!!
  21. Thank you and this is why I'm going for the RNY being the more drastic option as I need the extra help that's for sure!!
  22. Surgery you're under anesthesia with central youre not except for that betadine stuff that really smells
