  1. You're doing Just clear fluids no shakes?
  2. Might be good for those only looking to lose less than 100lbs that way you're not putting your body through a major surgery
  3. Wowsers you deserve a medal for your victory.
  4. Sounds like you really need to take advantage of psychological help to deal with the triggers and emotional issues that result in food addiction. I would not bother with surgery until you are ready and prepared. It is a lot of pain to go through if you're not fully committed. You need to be ready to change everything you've been taught and start a whole new way of life.
  5. Yeah I'll be giving some clothes away to help the next person at salvos etc
  6. Keep it up follow your plan everyday
  7. Walking into a shop and not having to go to the mr big and tall section the normal area has much better range and variety
  8. Excellent job how much left?
  9. Surgery is surgery.. Either one will change your life if you let it
  10. Sounds like SPANX and similar stuff you can put under your clothes give the look of lifted and tighten. There's no magic to it.
  11. To anyone on here whose been successful with an exercise regime tp help lose fat and tighten up with minimal loose skin? I'm 6ft and currently 280lbs started at 322 and I want to lose at least 90% of my fat but need help to get down to 185-195lbs. I'm curious is it best to follow the HIIT keeping your heart rate up high like 130-140bpm to burn fat better?? Is it best to use cardio or should I add weights? Thanks for any tips
  12. Yea totally agree elcee they are both major surgeries! And NO the surgeon will not operate unless it is safe to do so. So they will not do a surgery that will cause further harm. They have the duty of care!!
  13. Yes it all comes down to your commitment and determination
  14. Is this a pre existing issue or is it related to vitamin deficiency post op
  15. Invest in a protein shake cup you can take it with you everywhere
  16. I would be looking closely at every little thing you put in your mouth any liquids or foods..
  17. Look closely at your intake everyday
  18. Yeah that's weird I say keep it liquids for a couple weeks give your stomach pouch time to heal and adjust
  19. Yea i think it's hard for obese people to see others change their lives around because their reality and mortality is in their face EVERYTIME they see you lose weight as they continue to eat bad and gain weight. I know now even at the start of my journey some of my obese friends act as if they are happy to hear my progress but they quickly change subjects lol Don't stress too much about it
  20. That's great. I've already lost 40lbs preop and only got 100lbs to go and I'm only 35 but been pretty sedentary for a while which I know I'll have to change and start with a gym regime soon. My arms have a little loose skin. maybe over time as I lose more it might retract. (Let's hope)
  21. Well I can never afford 20k so I'm doing it the best way I can. My surgery is set for end of October but I've started my preop diet earlier My surgeon says any weight loss will help him do the surgery and help my recovery.
  22. What exactly does cross fit include and do you do any other weights or anything
  23. I'm in SA total cost for my surgery out of pocket 4500. Top hospital cover only $200 month don't know where you got 5000 from? I'll be in private hospital. Private room. Very quick process so far just had to do the 12 months waiting period but from first visit to surgery will be 3 months Had a few places to go in SA chose the most streamlined approach without all the hoops. seen surgeon twice. Weighed in twice. See a dietitian next week and that's about it until my surgery date.
  24. For the men mostly after losing 100lbs like what kind of training or workouts or tips do you have to help to stop from getting bat wings and lower stomach skin? I'm very early days so I'm just curious what kind of a regime would you suggest? I mostly do cardio on my bike but I've been hearing more and more about using weights or machines to work on my arms and like rowing machines? I know there's no gauranteed way but there's gotta be tips to help tone your overall body as I go through my journey? Like I want to eventually have some tone maybe even muscle not end up like a stick but also don't want to be huge? I've still got 100lbs to lose and feel if I start weight training will it put muscle onto my fat or will it actually help me burn more fat and flubber?? Sorry for any ignorance I've never tried weights!!
