Appetite Suppressant for Pre-Surgery Patients
Yes agree there's no sustenance or satiety possible with just liquids and such low protein. The shakes are there to keep calories low but also make sure you get enough protein in to keep you feeling full plus you need the protein to help with healing after surgery! That sounds like torture sorry.....

Advice/opinions wanted
It is a huge day for her a huge celebration and so many emotions and hormones flowing through her body. I'm sure she will feel bad after everything is said and done and she's come down from the clouds of her wedding and Honeymoon. It is also possible the age is a difference when it comes to being with all her friends and bridesmaids of her age you may not feel it but I know when I was in my 20s and my mum in her 40s we felt world's apart; as much as I love my mum I don't think I'd ever go party with her or drink with her. So yes you have to take a step back and allow this girl to have her day. I know how you feel my niece and I were inseparable from day 1 but once she got a boyfriend and turned 16 things changed obviously that's what happens as people grow up

TOO MUCH PROTEIN = KIDNEY PROBLEMS???
Hey there ive been on my own preop diet now for just over 3 weeks eating mostly just protein very little carbs.. Yesterday I started feeling a little soreness in my stomach/kidney area.. I've been reading excess protein may affect the kidneys but there's mixed information so it's hard to know what's true? I've been having consistently at least 100g a day with shakes and tuna cans plus some veggies.. Just curious maybe it's a normal thing in ketosis? The pain was bearable just weird... Tnx

Terrified I Won’t Lose Weight
As you only 60lbs to lose you may have to be more strict with every thing you put in your body. Those last 60lbs may take some extra effort but yes you'll need to learn a whole new way to eat and drink to lose as much as you can. Yes you will have some restriction hopefully at the beginning but it's still important to be very careful about logging every calorie and making sure to get the right combination of protein and water as well.. It's really up to you and your dedication and motivation to do the right thing!

* HELP HOW many days in hospital???
Hey guys just getting closer to surgery and few small questions. I know they may have been asked similar before. My surgeon last time we spoke said might need like 5 days in hospital for the RNY BYPASS surgery? He says it's very serious surgery and I haven't had any surgery since a teenager and he wants to be double sure I'm right to go home look after myself as I live alone. I've never heard of anyone on this site doing that many days? Some ppl talk about 1 night only or even out patient surgery? I think it may also be that I live about 2.5hrs from the hospital maybe? I'll be seeing surgeon in a week to ask more questions :) just thought I'd see what others experienced?? it's going to be hard on my own having to do my own like cooking and cleaning and stuff

Scared
Usually there's other underlying issues before surgery like ulcers and previous surgery and stuff but as above complications are very minimal at best I think it was like 1% with bypass! Its good to do your research though and be prepared!

headache during liquid diet
I remember it as hypoglycemia feeling like going from eating high carbs and sugar to none was a shock to the system... But after a few days of high protein I felt better and if you eat protein first in every meal you will get full quicker. Some days I don't even feel like eating on the preop

Stalled
Be careful of the cheese
