  1. I went to see my family doctor on Friday, and I was down 20lbs! I couldn't believe it. I don't feel super hungry, either. I still have to get a hang of the sipping part, but I'm not overeating by any means. I'm hoping to reach my mini-goal by years end!
  2. Hello there. The first 3-4 days are rough. At least they were for me. I had my surgery last wednesday, and I'm still not at 100%. Just try to hang in there. I know what you're going through and it will get better!
  3. I thought the same thing, thin! I know I'm still going to enjoy a sweet treat, even if it's not in such a large portion! Thanks for sharing.
  4. I had my surgery on the 9th, and I know EXACTLY how you feel! I'm not really that hungry, and I have to force protein and water into my system. I just sip on 16 oz bottle of water for an hour, and then protien for 3. Good luck to you, honey!
  5. What are some of your favorite sweets? :cursing:
  6. Thanks for all the well-wishes everyone. I am back at home and recovering. The first 3-4 days were awful, but I'm doing better. :cursing:
  7. Sorry for the late reply. My surgeon is Dr Kevin Reavis with UC Irvine Medical Cener. :cursing:
  8. Awesome! Keep up the good work!
  9. My surgery is scheduled for July 9th!
  10. Good luck to you and thank you! Keep me posted!
  11. No, not offended at all!
  12. Anyone cheat on their pre-op diet? Any problems with surgery because of it? I am on a 2 week diet, but I had a grilled chicken sandwhich on wheat bread when I didnt have access to my shakes! I also had a cup of coffee. I know, bad! This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do...
  13. For all you coffee drinkers: have you found that the band affected the amount of coffee you drank? I LOVE coffee and am addicted to it! :smile2:
  14. I know that after surgery, you're supposed to eat 3 meals a day, and no snacking. Do any of you snack or eat more than 3 times per day?
  15. I am on plenty of fish, too. I didn't have much luck on that site, either! Though I feel the same was as you, trust me when I say that there are a lof of men who like big women! Try tangowire.com. they have a lot of specialty sites, including those for bbw lovers.
  16. I'm being banded on July 9th, and I'm scared out of my mind! I think part of it is because food will no longer be a focus in my life. I'm also a bit afraid of the unknown. Will I be a success? Will I have any problems? I'm tired of being overweight and never want to have to struggle with it again, so I think I will be doing the right thing, but I'm still scared...
  17. I know that you're supposed to lose the weight fairly slowly (2-3lbs per week), but has anyone just had the weight fall off faster than usual? Were you exercising?
  18. Well, this is the first day of my pre-op diet. I have to have 4-5 meal replacement shakes per day, and 1-2 meal bars. I am also allowed to have jell-o, popsicles and chicken broth if I get hungry. I have to do this for two weeks! I had to give myself a little pep talk today! I CAN do this!:tt1:
  19. Hello all. I am scheduled for my surgery on 7/9. When I went in for my consultation, I was told that your age effects the rate at which you're able to lose. What have your experiences been thus far?
  20. Hello All. In your personal experience, what foods go down easy, and what foods do you have trouble with? I am being banded next month, and am not a glutton for punishment with food. I don't even want to try anything that may cause me discomfort.
  21. I have to do the Optifast diet 2 weeks pre-op. I have heard that some have experienced headaches while doing this diet. What has been your experience with Optifast?
  22. How long did it take everyone to recover after surgery? More specifically, when did you return back to work?
  23. That's awesome! I was supposed to be banded on May 28th, but had to move my surgery to July 9th. Good luck to you.
