I haven't dated in YEARS. I met someone I'm really interested in and our mutual activity ends tomorrow. Basically, he was standing outside alone before lunch and I went up to him and said something to the effect of “I’m going to make an ass of myself, but if you'd like to do something after all of this is over, give me a call.” He graciously said thanks and that he’d see me tomorrow. He was pretty cool about it all (although we'll see how awkward tomorrow is). Pretty sure he won’t call, but that’s ok. Just proud that I did it. I haven't been that forward with a guy since high school. In some ways, its better if he doesn't call - I'd be like the dog that actually catches her tail - what the heck would I do next. I've been out of the game for at least a decade at this point!

But, in the end, I actually feel good that I did it, even if nothing comes of it.

The dating scene sure isn't what I remember! I have given up and just keep my focus on lifting and living life my way..

I’m just frustrated with dating. Two years after surgery I know I will always need to be vigilant to keep weight off. I can’t be with someone who struggles with food or isn’t active. I’ll get sucked right into their lifestyle.
It makes me feel shallow, even though I know it shouldn’t, and it limits the dating pool. I guess I didn’t have any expectations concerning relationships after weight loss, but I did/do have aspirations. I’m tired of being single, and when you exclude overweight women, single moms, women 8+ years older than you, people who don’t have their **** together, women who want kids, and people so into Jesus it’s in the first 15 words of their dating profile, it’s like trying to find a specific needle in a haystack-sized pile of needles. It’s frustrating and sometimes it hurts.
That’s my venting for the day. Off to find something enjoyable.

Mashed potatoes are what we call a slider food. You're able to eat more of them cause they don't stick to your stomach, they just slide right on through, so you are able to eat more. That's generally why those of us who had the surgery a while ago stay away from foods like that, because we don't want to be able to eat too much. There's nothing wrong with you or your stomach; it's just that mashed potatoes are a slider food.

I'm in a super stall and it's so sad over a month and the scale goes up and down 2 pounds lol I'm at 5 months started at 265 I'm stuck between 212 and 214 I so badly want to see 199 lol I was a size 22 pants I'm now a 14 so I'm happy. But totally feeling the same way. My sister said "eat more" drink more Water and start walking or being active. Eating more never sounds appealing I was thinking about doing a 3 day shakes only reset? I dont know.

Thanks for the tips Orchids&Dragons. I was thinking of doing a one week shakeup anyway. Maybe doing a quick one week cycle through the post op stages. Protein Shakes. Then liquids. Then soft. Just to shake things up and wake my body up. It seems to currently be set to repetitive snooze. 🤔

Can you all recommend your favorite yogurt? I am on puree stage and had some Oikos Triple Zero today but it was too sweet for me. Almost sickening sweet...pre op I liked them but nope......
So I am looking for low sugar and higher Protein. I was looking at Sigis as a possibility but was just curious if anyone has an favorites.

Hi there. I had my surgery October 16 so just past the 4 month mark. I was 285 when I started my pre op diet, 272 the day of surgery and today I weigh 224 pounds! 61 pounds gone forever! I love getting rid of all my big clothes. I was in a size 20 jeans prior to surgery and now I fit into size 16 and can fit in size xl tops! I’ve also lost 26 inches! To say I feel amazing is an understatement! I’m so happy I decided to have this surgery!
