  2. premier protein has 1g of sugar.. have you tried some of the ready made ones?

  4. Matt, you know so much detail.. you should publish some books. I am always interested in what you have to contribute.. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge.
  5. Congratulations! How have you been doing so far? Tomorrow i am 4 weeks post op and a month on Saturday.. Tomorrow we take new pics to compare to from 4 weeks ago! YAY!
  6. Congrats! You are well on your way and will be at surgery date before you know it!
  7. I havent had experience with this but wish you the best of luck getting it approved quickly.
  8. Congrats! Just remember, it gets easier as the days go by.. It will appear to be rough for a few days. Keep pressing on and you will make it through it. Tomorrow i am 4 weeks post op but one month on Saturday!
  9. you are not the only one. It drives me totally bananas as i can smell everything LOL.. from like 10 ft away.. Whether its food or what not, i have super sensitive smell now.
  10. Congrats! We are all here to help one another.
  11. Thanks! That includes the pre-surgery loss, but still pretty good. I have been estatic so far!! Although this week i went up 3 pounds, but there are 2 specific reasons for that LOL.. Give it a week and it will be back down plus some!
  12. I was wanting to buy carbquick so i could make pancakes, just wanted to make sure i could have it. I tried the protein pancakes with chickpeas.. absolutely gross. I wont eat it all the time because in my book it is like having bread, but something different than eggs and cottage cheese a few times i would be eternally grateful. LOL. I start soft foods on Thursday.
  13. I actually did this morning, she said we could only count net carbs if the amount of Fiber was higher than 5g.. other than that it was total carbs.
  14. When we count carbs, are we supposed t count full carbs or net carbs?
  15. True.. I have started to drink a 16 ounce water on the way to work.. before my coffee and breakfast. It has really helped get my liquids in earlier and feel full. Sometimes that water is a protein water.. and then I have protein shake in my coffee.. all before I attempt to eat that egg, or 2oz of yogurt or cottage cheese LOL I cannot wait till next week I can add in pancakes.. low carb ones, with protein powder added.. silver dollar size is what I will be able to handle I am sure..
  16. Totally Awesome! Welcome and have fun along the way.
  17. I popped in to see what is going on here.. I am close enough LOL.. I just turned 49 almost 10 days ago LOL
  18. I am new to all this.. My Dr. doesn't start vitamins till a month after surgery.. which will be this coming weekend. I do know that if you skip your vitamins you will be deficient in a lot of nutrients due to the restricted amount of intake on food. You could end up in the hospital. I would be careful and make sure you follow your doctors orders.
  19. you will feel a deep pressure in your chest.. and it will last for about a good 30 minutes before you start to feel back to normal. FYI the same thing will happen once you move to foods and eat 3 spoons in 5 min LOL.. Speaking from experience.
  20. Excellent Article! Thank you for sharing!
  21. I cant wait to see what is all in here. Christmas will be the start of my real food stage LOL.. I am needing to get to World Market for Peppermint flavoring from Torani. I have so much of those syrups because I been using them for years that I buy 10-12 bottles at a time since the store is like a 30 min drive LOL
  22. my Dr. clears once you are no longer on pain killers. Since I didn't take any in the hospital nor fill my script.. I drove 4 days post op. I had surgery on Thurs and by Mon was driving.
  23. I did not think about it in this way, but I did think about it in a sense of I already have the food plan from the surgeons office, what if I could do the surgery food plan without the surgery it would accomplish the same thing.. Then my mind wandered to.. I wonder if anybody has ever tried it.. and then to.. Naw.. if they were successful it would be known out there and surgeries would be on the decrease not the increase.. and then I proceeded to continue my journey to have the surgery done. I will be a month post op in 5 days!
  24. set your timers.. constantly sip all day long..break your protein into every few hours, your liquid protein counts as liquid... use higher g protein drinks, less you have to drink of protein and more water as the protein can sit heavy. I am almost done with the puree stage.. and its harder to get liquid in when eating. I went from two 30g protein shakes a day to one.. and the rest of my protein from food per Dr. Orders.. one day I caved and did the two shakes because I didn't plan well enough and I was out and about all day... Keep trying because as you move through the stages you start all over LOL.. When you finally get something down pat.. time to start again until you get to real foods..
  25. I am only just about a month out.. so do not have the expertise for this, but I surely hope you do feel better!
