Smoking
Once I decided to have the surgery I quit the next day. I knew I had to be smoke free for 30 days or I couldn't have the surgery. I am so glad I did. I am only 17 days post op, but feeling great.

3 days post op and I’m in hell
Feel better soon..I would start drinking what you are able to tolerate so you don't get dehydrated until you can reach your surgeons office.

1 down 13 to go! Pre-Op!!
it gets easier and easier as the day goes by. I would recommend getting some protein water to help you tide over. One thing I did was have broth for both lunch and dinner and shakes in between to keep some kind of normalcy during the two weeks.

Swelling around incision
Just be careful! With this surgery I noticed everybody improves dramatically day after day, so if it gets worse I would certainly see a doctor. You would want to make sure its not infected or anything.

So cross at myself
It seems you realize what your behavior was. That is the first step in correcting it. Remove the snacks from the house and give them to somebody else. If you have a guest at your home..give them to the guest so they are out of sight but remove them from your areas. A mistake is a mistake, we are all going to make them, but we pick back up and keep moving forward so it doesn't because a habit. You can conquer!

Pre-op diet and me don't agree
Jazzy1125 replied to the.great.disappearing.kelly.trick's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&ATry to find an alternative until you talk to your Dr. Each Dr. is different and has different requirements. Just be sure to follow your doctors plans once you talk to him and he is able to give you other suggestions.

Can’t believe it!
That is awesome! I also want to go horseback riding and have never been. I always thought I would break the horse LOL.. I never even knew there was a weight limit.. Well now I have something to work towards for the spring time. Not sure where I will go horseback riding but somewhere. I hope to be under 250 by then. I am 16 days post op and have a bit to go.

Support each other
I agree, try and find a local support group. While being single is one thing, friends can support too. I am also single, but right now my main focus is on myself and sticking to the plan so I can get through it without having to worry about what somebody else might think

I've Regained...Looking For Support and to Support Others!
Good Luck! You got this! I am just starting out but consider going back to basics and starting over with the liquid phases then progress through the different stages to get yourself back on track. I am only 2 weeks and 2 days post op so I do speak from experience, but from what I see others suggest in here.

10 days out and suddenly can't stomach liquids
i have not but check with your surgeon. I have heard that pain while drinking water could be a leak. I would definitely get it checked. Better to have caution then let it go on.

Pre-op liquid diet during Thanksgiving
Yesterday was my first day of puree.. The scrambled egg with mozz cheese was flipping amazing! I am going to repeat that egg today it was so good. LOL.. Today I am going to puree some leftover turkey and make turkey salad with a bit of mayo .. I am excited to try that.

Weight gain
I agree with Torriluv. I am only two weeks out and cannot speak from experience, but all I have read from the nutritionist on our support page for veterans is to go back to basics and cut the carbs.

I feel like I blew it
We are all going to make mistakes, but as long as you recognize it and get back on track that is the most important thing. Do not dwell on the slip as the slip can mentally turn into a repeat incident, especially from how we used to think. Change your thought process to. it was a holiday I enjoyed it and tomorrow is a fresh start. We cannot feel like we are depriving ourselves during this journey.. You got this!

Medifast Products
Why don't you make some veggie soups and then add your protein as you go along and puree it. I am not sure about oatmeal at this stage. We seem to be on the exact time frame, and I think oatmeal is in the next stage of soft foods but I could be wrong. I also meant to tell you I had an egg yesterday too LOL for the first time, it was amazing, though I used mozz cheese instead of cheddar.

5 days till surgery

Gastric Sleeve On Nov 20th
be careful with the caffeine. I do not believe we are supposed to be drinking caffeine right now due to its a dehydrator. Check with your Dr. First.. but something I learned at a support meeting was to roast veggies and put them in your broth to give it flavor, then to remove them.

Pre-op Tips & Tricks
also get Protein water. It will help with the protein in case you do not get all the shakes in. Also check with your Dr. Mine also said 4-5 but it had to be the lower protein g.. not the 30 because then we would be taking in way too much protein. I spaced my protein shakes out for every few hours in between my meal times. I had broth for a meal to keep some kind of normalcy. ( I could not have food at all, it was strictly liquid.) Congratulations! You got this!

Tespo
I have been wanting one of these too. It would be great to know!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING USA FOLKS
Happy Thanksgiving to All! I am starting puree today and still cooking for my adult children! Willpower here I come! LOL.. It will be fine, I am not hungry and will have some blended chili for lunch today. For dinner I may puree some ground turkey and cauliflower mash.. but I have a feeling I will still have some chili to eat LOL. For breakfast, I am still working on my caramel pecan flavored decaf with caramel protein shake in it. My son ran off to the store to buy all the stuff for desserts since I excluded that all from my shopping list LOL. Daughter will be here after her work shift at Disney! Have a wonderful time with family today all. that is really what the day is about and not the food.

Only 50lbs loss in 7.5 months
are you tracking your food intake? What about liquids? Also on the food, what is your intake? Carbs? Proteins? Etc. How many calories are you consuming daily and are you eating your protein first. I am still fairly new at this but all I see on the hospital support group I am a part of is the Bariatric Coordinator advises those that are in the same situation is to go back to basics. The carbs should be minimal until you are at 75% of your excess weight lost. Again, I am not a doctor and I am new at this myself, but maybe you need to re-evaluate how many carbs you are eating daily, and how much water you are drinking as well. Good Luck
