  1. Congrats! Good Luck and Speedy Recovery!
  2. This year is my first year with my tiny tum also. Only i will be 2 weeks post op thanksgiving day. Normally thanksgiving is me and my kids get together. My daughter works at Disney and has to work during the day. My son is now a vegetarian (recently converted, maybe 5 months ago) and now i will be able to have only puree. I believe this year we are skipping the festivities, and are just going to hang out together in the evening and my son and i will do a mini day trip until my daughter gets out of work -instead of spending the day in the kitchen cooking stuff none of us will eat.
  3. I had my sleeve on 11/8. Today is 6 days post op and i am still 1.4 OVER my surgery day weight. I gained 13.6 during surgery.. Wierd as all heck! I am hoping that tomorrow when i hit 1 week post op i am back to Surgery Date Weight! Anything after that is a true loss and then i will start weighing maybe once a week or once a month. I think once a month would be better as to not stress week over week! I am in this for the long haul! Good news is. I did drop 3 pounds over night for the last few nights getting be back to normal. If that path continues, I may be down a good bit by the time i see the Dr, on Tuesday to get the stitches out. Now just to get rid of this everlasting Gas LOL.. Its driving me crazy to burp after almost every sip!
  4. I would recommend calling your doctor to get it taking care of and see what is going on asap before it gets any worse. Good Luck to you!
  5. I also think there will be time available but sipping is great. I am 6 days post op and for the last 2 days, i have all my liquid in before i leave work. I believe its because from the minute i walk through the door to the minute i leave work at 5, i am constantly sipping. Once i complete my 64 ounces, everything else is bonus. It also helps that i am drinking protein shakes, so that also counts as liquids for lunch and dinner, but it gives me a good feeling that i dont have to contstantly sip in the evenings. I can go home, have my protein drink for dinner (usually takes an our for 11 ounces) and then relax. If i am then thirsty i can get something to drink or a sf popsicle for a snack and not feel like i am way over doing it.
  6. thanks for the question and feedback. This is one of my concerns. I can see this being something that will take a lot of practice.
  7. Same here. Sorry my response was one-sided..i wanted to respond to u and get out of the office at the same time...how are you feeling? If I worked in that I dustry I would take extra time off too lol..my job is in a small business and I basically run the office without the full title lolol..i enjoy being there..the owner takes care of us all I want to do the same in return..lol..today he yelled at me to make sure I follow.my drs orders to the letter and he doesnt want to find out differently lol SW 306.6 CW 283.6 GW 135
  8. Mine went extremely well. I came back to work yesterday. Now if i could just get rid of the excess gas, and the weight gain from the surgery (15 pounds additional LOL) I am down to 4 over.. so hopefully by end of week i will start seeing a loss of some sort. I am able to get all my liquids and proteins in.. thankfully. Tonight i will start extended walking. I have been walking but not as exercise. that starts tonight.
  9. i would say check with your doctor especially since you just had surgery. I am only 5 days out and the incision is above it.
  10. i know when i was dieting before the sleeve.. i did not notice the stomach go down until about 30 pounds lost, maybe 40.. One day i was at the gym and my reflection was in the glass to the building and it took me by surprise. That and the fact that i went shopping in a store and the lady asked if i was going to buy new pants that my pants looked like it could accomodate 3 of me.. I was embarassed, that ppl at my work never said anything and i didnt notice..
  11. Thank you for this information! I just downloaded it myself! I am super excited to start logging liquids so i dont have to manually track
  12. I am excited my puree stage starts on Thanksgiving day. I see some ground turkey with cauli mash and gravy being pureed into some sort of thanksgiving soup thing LOL.. Today i am 5 days post op. Almost feeling back to normal.. still slow on the walking, but getting all my liquids in! I am excited to try puree foods as well. another week and 2 days to go!
  13. I dont have time to have buyers remorse. I am too busy focusing on getting my liquids in and such. I honestly do not have buyers remorse. I did a lot of research going in and am a very rule/authoritive oriented person. To me, all i did to myself was put a rule in place that cannot be broken. Whereas before, when i dieted, i had a rule in place, but i broke it every time. This will control that breaking of the rule after you lose so much weight.
  14. My plan consisted of 14 days liquid to shrink liver. I started with 13 days because i counted day of surgery in error. You certainly have time to get it done. My plan consisted of drinking all day long including protein shakes throughout the day. I was never hungry. A typical day looked like this... Wake up- Decaf coffee, then a bottle of water, then a protein shake, now a bottle of protein water.. at lunch time chicken broth.. mid afternoon a protein shake, followed by some water (normally flavored) around 5 on i would grab a protein shake as i went to dance classes in the evening. Drank that on the way there.. had water when i got there, and upon arriving home, had chicken broth for dinner.. Would top it off with one more protein shake if i felt hungry. ( the protein water i felt subbed for the shake as it had 1.5 times the amount of protein.) I was allowed up to 5 protein shakes a day of the 10g . Dr said the higher the grams, the less can drink as he didn't want me over 80g protein a day.. It wasn't that difficult as i was constantly drinking something and the protein shakes/water took away the hunger. The broth i did to keep some sort of lunch/dinner normalcy. Good Luck! You got this!
  15. Congrats! Good Luck and I wish you a Speedy Recovery!
  16. I think everybody is different. I was sleeved on Thursday the 8th. It will be a week in 2 days. I am currently down 9 but i was also up almost 14 since surgery due to gas and liquids. For me to be back at the same weight i went into surgery i need to drop another 4 pounds, and then i can count loss from there. I am not too worried about it and everybody loses differently. I am just glad that i am mobile, was able to return to work and have had virtually no pain since i woke up from surgery. I do have the gas issues, and pressure but each day it is getting better and that is what is important. Now, you said you were weak. That is very concerning. You also said your doctor said to only eat if hungry. Also concerning, and maybe a misunderstanding. I do think you will need to get all your liquids in even if not hungry so you stay hydrated and don't end back up in the hospital for hydration. I have found that constant sipping every few min for now has allowed me to reach my daily goal for the first time yesterday. That will be my plan, because then once i am over goal and such by 8 pm i can lay off the liquids lol unless i am thirsty. I recommend reaching back out to your team to clarify the instructions, and do all that you can to keep hydrated so you don't get sick.
  17. I just had my sleeve done on Thursday 11/8- On Thursday i had no food, just ice chips, Friday- i do not know how much intake i had, very little i think about 20-30 ounces Saturday- i believe it was 38 Sunday- 50 and got all my protein in Today- Its 430pm, and i am at 65 with half protein in. I started this morning at 7 am on a 20 ounce water.. when i got to work at 8 am i put it aside and had 10 ounces of coffee with 2ounces of protein for creamer.. finished the coffee by 10 am. I then went back to the water and finished it around noon. At noon I went to my protein shake and finished it around 130, I then made a 24 ounce of water and just finished it about 430pm. I found i had to constantly sip all day. I never got hungry but constantly every few minutes had a sip or two going down. It still hurts a bit going down.. like pressure i am not sure why or if its trying to pass the gas that may still be there. I still have a protein shake to go this evening, and can do more water, but i am almost at the mindset, that i have reached the goal for the day. Is it possible to drink to much? Its going down and staying down. I also was excited today that i was able to have a small BM for the first time since Wednesday. I think I will need some myralax or something or smooth move just in case as it was not normal but verge of constipation, but at least it moved. Thanks for your input.
  18. I just started full liquid yesterday. Day two and i have 4 different flavors.. well 5.. but the 5th one (caramel) i bought reserved to use as creamer. I have peaches n cream, cookies n cream, chocolate and bananas n cream. I dont think i bought the strawberry but not sure. Then when i am done with these i have 3 cases of protein2o and i also have genepro( 90 day supply). I think i am set on additional protein for awhile-considering the daily supplement after the initial liquid stage is only 30 per day LOLOL.
  19. Congratulations! I am also new here and still learning.
  20. so far premier protein is my fav, but i am only 4 days post op. I heard though. Do not stock up pre op because your taste buds may change after surgery. I did try cookies and cream last night and i am not a fan of it, but it is tolerable for now. I do however, think i will let that flavor fall to the wayside once i am out of it.
  21. I would love to hear an answer for this as i am only 4 days post op and still learning. Most of the time for me i feel like my liquid is passing something on the way down my throat LOL.. Half the time i think its a gas bubble as a few seconds later here comes a burp.
  22. also focus on your liquid intake first before foods. At least that is what my dr told me. If your stomach isnt handling foods yet, go back to liquids only.
  23. does your plan have solids in 4th week? I am only 4 days post op and i am on liquids for 2 weeks, then starting week 3 i move to puree for 2 weeks then soft for 2 weeks. Maybe you are advancing too fast and your stomach cannot tolerate solid foods yet.
  24. Keep one day at a time. I am only 3 days post op, but I have to say, some of these folks out here like Fluffy are GodSends.. All the encouragement I see in your posts Fluffy is just amazing. I appreciate your posts even when I am not in the same position as Mouse.. Yet, and hope to bypass that one. This is what I call team effort!!! Makes me happier I did this as I know there will be somebody out there to fight with me through the tough spots.
  25. I am glad you reminded me to take my biotin today . I have not taken it since Thursday.. the day I was sleeved. Thank you! Also, if you don't mind my asking what part of FLA are you in? I am in Polk County.
