  1. Stop stepping on the scale EVERYDAY! I weighed this morning and will weigh on the 9th for my over the phone consult with my doctor ( I am not driving 3 hours for a 15 min doctor visit LOL) and then i am going to try weighing on the first of each month ( that is the ultimate goal) going foward. I am going to try and start weekly i guess. I dont know LOL i just know i need to stop stepping on it every day.
  2. When was your surgery? I am only 7.5 weeks out so i can only recommend back to the basics.. I havent ventured outside my food choices much because i still cannot eat a lot. Try taking meat/cheese rollups. Pepperonis and cheese. It really depends on how far out you are and what your stomach can tolerate.
  3. Just remember, it is a constant work of progress. You will constantly plan, replan, and try to change how you are doing things for at least the next few months until you have your own system in place. Good Luck on your journey!
  4. Good to see you back on the boards! Glad they got your issue fixed!
  5. These are great! I love the last one - it’s so hard to do, great to have it boiled down to a “mantra” you can say to yourself to remember to stick with it! Good for you!! Thank you! We all tend ( at least I do) to do for everybody else and put ourselves last because our(my) self esteem has always been so low because of my size. Now this year, It is all about what is best for me and not the rest! Its going to be about what i want to do. Do I want to travel? Where do I want to go ( not the adult children)? What do I want to do on the weekend? This is the mentality I will bring into the new year. I will not be selfish because life "all about me" makes for a lonely life, but I am going to live life and not let life carry me through.
  6. Good Luck on your new Journey!
  7. I hope things get better for both of you!
  8. my biggest non routine days are on the weekends because we are always on the go. I have to constantly alter something to make something work so i stay on track with the liquids at least. Protein i get from 2 liquid sources so i get at least 45 without eating yet.
  9. My resolutions for this year are: to go to the gym 12 times a month or more. Make it a part of my normal routine Up my water intake and try to get in at least 80 ounces a day Track my intake. ALL of it. I am good at tracking liquid and protein but that is all.. I need to focus on carbs, calories, and fat to make my tracking complete. Slow down on my eating so that i can eat more than i am but not more than i should be Be more positive about everybody and everything Live life for me.. not just be alive, but live the life i have Happy New Year all!
  10. 2018 was a good year for me but 2018 will be better. I have an amazing job that i absolutely love. I started Ballroom Dancing, which i never thought i would do. My adult children are in a better place than they were at the beginning of the year. I had the surgery towards the end of the year and all of these things are a precursor for an amazing 2019 all around! I am grateful for 2018 and looking forward to 2019!
  11. I am 7 weeks out. I am working on 60-80g of protein a day with less than 40 carbs and i dont remember the fat LOL. I never get past the protein in order to eat anything else. i am full before i get to it. Last night for dinner i had 2 shrimp and then a few hours later i had 1 meatball LOL.. Not sure i can be of much help!
  12. add unflavored to your food. I also drink Protein2o daily each morning and make my own whey protein shake. The rest comes from my food. If i am making a receipe, i add the additional unflavored.
  13. Happy all around!! Welcome to the Boards! This is an amazing group of people. The best boards i have found so far.
  14. Just wanted to send a message from me to all of you! Thank you for the help and support and encouragement in 2018! What is done is done and we are all on a new journey and at the start of a new year!.. I wish each and every one of you a wonderful 2019 and cannot wait to see where we end the year and all of our progress together! Thank you for being such a great group of people! I surely weighed myself this morning just to see where i start the year at!!! Have a great day to one and all! Happy New Year, New You!!
  15. i didnt take vitamins for the first month. My dr starts them at week 4. He also did not restrict how we take them. I have been taking a pill form since i started taking them and it will be 30 days this week.
  16. Keep in mind that each persons journey is different. I wouldnt stop support group meetings, but if you feel they are not helpful or they are bringing you down, maybe you can find another local support group that you can attend. Knowledge is power.. Sometimes the knowledge at support groups is repetative because folks are in different stages. You need to find the right fit for you and draw off of it as much as possible. Once something becomes a thorn in your side.. time to move on. Only you can make that decision.
  17. you will also hit stalls. I have hit 2 so far.. and i am only 7 weeks out. It is your body catching up to you. My first one lasted 8 days and my second one just ended 2 days ago and lasted 4 days.
  18. I did all the research and prepared myself for what might happen. I am a true believer so i also did a lot of praying for the month beforehand to make sure it was the right decision. I did not necessarily have thoughts about complications but i did have thoughts about not making it off the table.. After much prayer and research i felt in my heart this was the right thing to do. The morning i walked into the hospital it was like i was just going to another doctor appt. I had no issues or worries whatsoever! I have also been very lucky since i woke up from surgery. I am one of the ones that had no issues since waking up from anethesia.. Did not use pain pump at all once i woke up and was walking up and down the hallways since the day of surgery.. Now i have struggles, but all my struggles are mind struggles..how to eat, slow down, wait before eating and drinking so you dont make yourself sick. Learning to know when your full.. etc.. My cycle even came and went normally (even through it was late)... All you can do is be prepared so you know how to handle the things that do happen. I think just being prepared will help you eliminate stress because you will be armed with the knowledge on what to do to make it easier and better to get through it... Good luck on your journey!
  19. there is always post op gain due to the amount of gas and liquids they fill you with during surgery. It took me a week or so to get back to surgery weight from all i was pumped with. I gained 15 pounds just from surgery.. but as of this morning i am down a total of 50.2.. 7 weeks post op..
  20. are you getting enough liquid? I would be calling the doctor to find out what you can do.
  21. i would reach out to the doctor to make sure nothing else is going on. i dont recall having pain while swallowing but i have been really lucky throughout the whole process. One note to make.. liquids is easy to get the 64 ounces in when just on liquids. the moment you add in food.. it becomes 10 times more difficult. You literally have to schedule every bite and swallow to get it all in.. There are days i miss it by a few and back to game plan next day and assessing where you got behind.. Once you are behind, it is very difficult to catch up.
  22. i need something for this too. I am tired of cold food all the time so i have resorted to eating cold foods lol so its not too bad.. right now i am eating pepperoni slices for lunch.. i have 4 cheese cubes too but am enjoying the pepperoni lol
  23. I hope she comes back soon.. always useful and helpful information!
  24. Mine was walking only for 6 weeks for as much as i could and then released for my ballroom dance classes and gym training at 6 weeks..
