  1. I work at a company that is a small business and majority of health benefits for small do not cover bariatric. I cannot answer for self employed. My guess is, if you are going to pay 4 to 5 hundred in insurance premiums then i would just do self pay so you dont have to go through all the pre requirements. Also if you get on obama care it is not covered UNLESS you are in one of the 12 states where it is mandatory covered. Good Luck on your Journey!
  2. Crazy Right! It is never ending! The other thing i keep looking at is my ticker ( on this site LOL) not my heart.. And i am like.. when is that thing going to be less than 100 to go? When is the runner going to he halfway through the sign LOL.(though today i was like YAY! she reached it at least lol.
  3. you are right. It is a marathon and not a sprint! I think about that too every day.
  4. I am not at goal and almost 3 months post op, but i was actually talking to my best friend about this last night on the phone. When driving, i am noticing i am tending to sit on the right side.. and its starting to get uncomfortable to drive.. as it hurts and the upper leg is starting to get the nummies while driving. Its only beginning so i dont know what it is, but if i sit too long now.. i have to get up and walk for about 10 min and then go back to what i was doing. I found it wierd, and not sure where the nummies are coming from, but starting to drive me crazy.

I havent even thought about dating again, but then again I am old LOL..Right now i am focused on me and my journey. My boss told me to start wearing a wedding right that guys like married women LOLOL.. She is crazy! My ex husband for some reason after 20 years thinks i am now his wife.. Umm.. No.. that ship sailed a long time ago. My feeling is that if it is meant to be it will find me. I am not going to look. Everytime i did that in the past.. i didnt find anything..so.. what will be will be
  6. Totally Understand! I too put background music on when people make so much noise especially when i am trying to focus on work. I do ask myself.. Is that really necessary! When i am meaning to say it to them. I find it much more polite to ask it to myself quietly LOL
  7. MyFitness Pal is the one I like for the computer. However I am the worst at tracking.. Always have been. If i had to say, that is my number one struggle. However I do track on paper, but that does not add up nutrition counts LOL.. I need to get it together soon!
  8. Good Luck on your Journey!
  9. Why is it that our head tries to play games?? Especially when it comes to our weight loss! I am very happy with my progress overall, but each week it is a mind battle for my head to accept where i am on this journey. Last week when i weighed in, it was 59 pounds loss total.. Great! Not so great! Why was it not 60? My mind wanted it to be 60 and it was not so i was disappointed in myself.. ok.. great! Next week it will be over 60 and i will be happy. I weighed this morning ( A day early) because it was killing me i didn't get on the scale all week on purpose to try and go a week without weighing LOL.. Anyways.. result.. Down 3.2 ( and i still have tomorrow to go, but if no change ok) but now my mind says.. you are not in the 230s yet.. Need to lose another 1.6 to get there. So now i sit here thinking.. What can i do today to impact that 1.6 by tomorrow since official weigh in is tomorrow.. Seriously! Brain.. Get a life! This is great you aren't even 3 months out yet and you put on a size 16 dress.. ( even though I couldn't breathe) lol it still fit, but not correctly.. it will not be long before i can actually wear it in public.. Oh the mind games!!!
  10. 100% of energy was almost 2 months for me as well. The first 6 weeks, i was fine mentally after the first week, but my body just wanted to sit and not do much anywhere. I walked some, but it was a good 6 weeks before i had the energy to do anything outside of work on a regular basis. I am now almost 3 months and have a super amount of energy.
  11. I cannot do regular water, but i was that way before surgery. I just do not like it UNLESS it is super ice cold and it is very HOT outside.. Other than that i live with flavor in my purse. HAHA i actually ran out while at work the other day.. and walked around like i was gonna die LOL.. Dramatic at least! I immediately went to the store to buy some after work but needless to say.. I did not get my water in that day no matter how much i tried!!!
  12. Did your doctor ok Ibuprofin? It is an NSAID and we were told no nsaids. It could damage your stomach. Please check with your doctor to make sure you can have that. My stomach always gurgles, even now at almost 3 months post op. Dumping syndrome is when you have something you should not like sugar or sweets, fried, etc. I have not experienced dumping yet, but i also think its more with the RNY and i had the sleeve. Not sure since i have not experienced it. I wish you a speedy recovery soon.
  13. Good Luck on your Journey. I was self pay so i did not have to go through anything specific.
  14. other quirk.. is you MUST slow down eating, or you wont get enough food in. I wait 2 min between bites if the food is regular.. anything on the soft side.. 1 min between bites.. but then listen to your stomach.. sometimes i prolong the next bite depending on if that "feeling" has passed enough to take the next bite.. Otherwise.. its no more than 3 bites till the hiccups show up.
  15. Follow the signs... because if you dont stop eating.. the next step is the toilet... Tried and tested.. Not fun!!! LOL.
  16. Congratulations on your continued success! I cannot wait to be there someday..You are such an inspiration on the boards! Thank you as well for all your input and feedback you give to each and every one of us!
  17. Try listening to music while you are working so you cant hear it. Good Luck
  18. True for sure! So many people think that once the surgery is done, they are done. This is indeed a lifelong committment and a constant watch of what we are doing all the time. If we let things pass, we will revert back to our old selves and be back where we started.
  19. Every Excellent Post! I am glad everything went well for you! I wish you a speedy recovery and welcome to the losers bench!
  20. I am not in the UK. However I decided on the sleeve because the only issue was my weight. I did not have any other co morbidity to deal with. What i was told by my Surgeon is: if there are other co morbidites then the bypass is the way to go as it will address the other issues as well. Good luck on your decision.
  21. I have not been through that and i am sorry you are going through that. I hope you feel better and get well soon.
