  1. Check with your doctor..if you are just out of surgery.. other than that it is 60-80g daily.
  2. i had my sleeve 3 hours away. I went to the 2 week follow up and then my next appt is Jan 9th. I asked for a phone appt so i dont have to drive 6 hours for a 15 min visit. I will find out how it goes here in the next week or so and can let you know. I do know there are support groups locally that i can participate in and my Dr. Office also does an online support group. My new insurance after the 1st of the year also has a support group of some sort for weight loss that i am going to look into.
  3. i cannot wait to be in this situation. Congratulations!
  4. I hope you feel better. I had the sleeve so i am unable to answer lab band questions, but i hope you feel better soon.
  5. I agree that the husband is full of insecurities, but looking at her weight and BMI she is borderline eligible. One piece of information that is missing is are there any other comoribidities. I am far from a surgeon but all i see around here is to be considered you have to have other comorbidities at a 35 bmi.. I may be wrong, but i also see both sides of this equation.
  6. Your very welcome. i was never so excited that i am waiting till after the new year to join the gym. also the real appeal gives you a digital food scale. Since mine just broke at Christmas i am curious to see if it is actually a good one LOLOL.. Will keep you posted.
  7. I figure he will find me.... whether it be online ( not that i go to online dating sites LOL) at church, in town, wherever. I will just do me for now and focus on me and if something is meant to be.. it will find me.
  8. i can barely tolerate chicken.. and now it seems ham too.. It is such a struggle that i dont think it is worth it
  9. Congratulations! I cannot wait to reach my goal weight. I am in the beginning stages, but i am hoping to be close to it by the time our family reunion comes around in june.
  10. I was thinking the same thing. I did not have the band, but those seem to be the signs of pregnancy again. It could just be coincidence that it happened around the same time as the band filling. Wont hurt to get checked out
  11. Here is to looking to 2019 and everything it will bring with it.
  12. Everybody is different. I do agree that somebody staying over night is unnecessary. Not only are you tired and will not be good company, but your nurses will be in and out ALL NIGHT and whoever is with you will not get any sleep themselves while you are there. If your husband can come in the morning that would be fine. If not, and you are traveling, take an uber home if you live nearby. My daughter went with me and i sent her home (3 hour drive) and my son came to pick me up when i was discharged, other than that, nurses are in and out all day, and they have you walking up and down the hallway all day.. i thought it was best to not have to worry about keeping anybody company.
  13. That your health insurance may have a fitness reimbursement program as well as weight loss support program? I just finished setting up insurance for our employees for the first time at the company i work at. ( Small Business). The Insurance is United Health Care. The insurance has two riders included in the cost. Real Appeal and Simply Engaged.... Both of these provide something to the employee. The real appeal is the weight loss support group, but the simply engaged will reimburse 20 bucks a month from your gym membership if you go to the gym more than 12 times a month. I am super excited about both of these things that are offered. I figured if our company as a small business has these options then maybe most of you may have something similar and should (if not already) be taking advantage of it if you thought about or are currently going to the gym or such. Doesn't hurt to look into it.
  14. right now i take the pro health multivitamin from Amazon, the one with iron.
  15. i am just over 7 weeks out. Your weight loss is great, but check with your doctor on your plan. I still cant have fruits and can only have a few soft canned veggies just now at 7 weeks.. I never get to the veggies because we are supposed to be eating protein first and then if hungry veggies and then carbs... try tracking your carbs also and make sure that your calorie intake is half protein, 1/4 carb, 1/4 fat... i barely ever get to the carb part, fat i am going to venture a guess is in with protein since its no carbs LOL
  16. To all those on Liquids.. Get some Almond Milk Nog (Egg Nog) and mix 4ounces with 4 ounces of water with your Vanilla Whey Protein! The Perfect Christmas Protein Shake!!! YUM!! I am enjoying some as I type
  17. Hopefully next year you wont want to eat all the sweets and stuff you see during the holidays. I know I sure wont!
  18. You can still enjoy the holidays with your family. It isn't all about food. At Thanksgiving I was on pure liquids. Instead of drinking my shake from the ready made carton, I poured it into a glass and had a great time with all of the folks around me. For Christmas I am on full menu and my children are totally ok with preparing the foods without the sugars and such.. but my main point is.. I bought Almond Milk Egg Nog.. and mixed 4 ounces with 4 ounces of water, and then my whey protein.. to make my protein shake.. YEP! I will do it again tomorrow because to me.. I am drinking egg nog at Christmas and that is the #1 Tradition we have.. and I can participate. YOU can find a way.. remember YOU are in control of what you can do.. and how your holiday turns out! Don't make it about food, but about family.. even if there are a few things food related you can make it work. I am 100% sure you can make the same EggNog Protein Shake!!! Be creative and set your minds to making it positive and fun!
  19. Congratulations! Good Luck and Safe Journey!
  20. you look amazing! I am looking forward to something similar. I have a family reunion in June 2019 and none of my family up north is aware that I had the surgery. The only people I told were my children that are adults that live here in Florida. My parents passed years ago, and all my family, cousins, sisters..etc in CT have no idea. I cant wait for them to be blown away when I show up there next summer.
  21. Congrats on your Journey! Have fun with it and I wish you lots of luck!
  22. The funny part is I don't remember what I had on full liquids LOL.. I am only 6 weeks out but it changed every 2 weeks.. that I was out of liquids by thanksgiving and now I don't remember what I had.. I think just liquids I am sure just don't know which ones lol
  23. it will get better. hang in there and keep following the program. Before you know it you will be on your way to a new you.
  24. soups that are not blended at this point make me sick. I have tried chicken noodle and no go.. I didn't eat the noodles, but the mixture of solids and liquid makes it want to come back up.
