  1. If everything goes well my surgeon says I should only be in the hospital for one night but I am not sure how to "prepare" my five year old. I want to be extra careful since my father died suddenly over the summer and my daughter, though grieving appropriately, still has some fears of the unknown and I don't want to scare her. I'm thinking maybe having her sleep over my sister's house the night I am in the hospital but I'm not sure. What did you do/are you planning on doing to address your hospital stay with young kids?
  2. Welcome! I'm being sleeved on November 6th
  3. I am dreading the caffeine withdrawal so I am putting it off until I need to when I start my 2 week pre-op diet. Trips are always harder to be good with all of the extra food temptation but at least you will still be able to eat while you are in Disney. Have a great trip!
  4. Hello and welcome! I am scheduled to be sleeved in November. As pp's have suggested, definitely check with your surgeon to see when you'd be clear to be adjusted. Even after you're cleared it might still be uncomfortable to lay on your stomach but your chiropractor should be able to improvise
  5. Hi Paddyski! I just went to a Pre-op class last night and it's feeling more real to me now and more scary too since there was a lot of discussion about the hospital and avoiding complications after surgery. So now I am feeling a little more scared but I just keep reminding myself that I am meant to have this surgery and it'll be worth it
  6. My insurance covers either 80% or 85% of the total cost so I have been able to get an idea of what I will owe but I am hoping that somehow my insurance company will say, "Just kidding-we'll cover it all" Oh well, I think I'll get the amount when I meet with the surgeon in 2 weeks
  7. I was told to wait about 2 weeks but they got back to me in 6 days. Good luck!
  8. We're date twins! Yes, I too would love to be able to keep up with my daughter
  9. Welcome! You are one of us!
  10. Hello and welcome! I bought stilettos ( I forget how many years ago) and I would love to finally wear them
  11. Welcome to the November Sleevers club!
  12. My surgery is not until November so I don't have much advice to give you but good luck!
  13. Congrats! I was worried my doctor wouldn't be supportive either but she surprised me! Good luck!
  14. Congrats on getting your date! I can't offer much advice since I just got my date (November 6th) a few weeks ago myself but I can recommend staying on these forums because they are helpful and supportive,
  15. I'm sorry to hear that you had a rough start but am glad that you are getting better
  16. Hello and welcome! I am being sleeved on November 6th
  17. I hear you about bending over to tie shoes and also being more active and having energy to do things with my husband and daughter. That is the one thing that keeps me determined-I am doing this so I can be around longer to grow old with my husband and be there as long as I can for my daughter
  18. Happy birthday and good job avoiding the food temptations of Sin City You look great!
  19. Congrats on getting approved and scheduling your surgery! I'm not scheduled until November so I can't give you advice on the pre-op diet yet but I know people often recommend the Premier protein shakes and you can get them on Amazon, wholesale clubs, and in grocery stores. Good luck as you prepare for your surgery and may you have speedy recovery
  20. Hello and welcome! I am scheduled to be sleeved on November 6th. Thanksgiving will be interesting for us both
