  1. My wait time was a little bit longer than most it seems but I had a few bumps along the way. I attended an informational session in August 2017 and between then and the beginning of December 2017 I had and "passed" 3 (required by insurance) nutritionist appointments, required psych eval, required Upper GI, and required cardiologist appointment. Then I had my (required) pulmonology appointment in December 2017 and that is where I was "held up" because I had to get a sleep study which took over a month to set up and then waited another month for the results and then discovered I had sleep apnea so I had to wait for the CPAP machine and be on the machine for 3 months before my pulmonologist would approve me for surgery. I had another "hold up" when my father passed away but I picked up the process again in August and mailed in all of my paperwork and my insurance approved me a week later! I won't be sleeved until November but my surgeon didn't have any openings until then but that's ok because it'll be November soon! Good luck to you!
  2. I luckily never got into smoking but I too am an addict of caffeine and carbonated drinks so I am living it up until my 2 week pre-op diet and then I will have to stop cold turkey. My husband asked if I could go live with my mom while I "detox" from the caffeine
  3. Hello and welcome! I get sleeved on November 6th. I too have federal BCBS and was worried about not getting approved because I didn't have a "documented diet plan" like Weight Watchers for the past year like the insurance was asking for but luckily what I gave them was enough. My surgeon's office told me from the start that federal BCBS is on of the hardest to get approval from but we both did it!
  4. Congrats on a successful surgery! I'm glad that your pain is now under control and hope that you can go home tomorrow
  5. Your trip will be even better since you can live it up and eat what you want! I've been kind of living it up while I can because I have to do the 2 week pre-op diet starting in two weeks. Have a great trip!

  10. Welcome and congrats on getting a date-I will be sleeved on the 6th. I too feel that I am meant to have this surgery and whenever I had any doubts I would trust that whatever was meant to happen would happen and here I am 4 weeks away from the big day
  11. I am not one to crave fruit but I swear Edible Arrangements does something to their fruit that it always looks and tastes so good! Good job in resisting!

  17. I too have lowered my caffeine intake a little but won't completely give it up until my pre-op diet. My goals for this week are to focus on chewing my food and not drinking with meals.
  18. Hi and welcome! Yes, the dreaded airplane seat! Also some movie theater seats and booths at restaurants-I can't wait to not have to eat with my stomach lodged between the seat and table!
  19. Congrats and welcome! I hear you-I can't wait to have more energy and not dread having my picture taken.
  20. Hello and welcome! I'll be sleeved the same week as you on the 6th. It's scary but exciting that we are 4 weeks away!
